What's your leaning on Goedert?

On the field, I like Goedert.  He blocks well, is physical after the catch...doesn't get open nearly as well as prime Ertz, but he can hold his own as a receiver, even if he's not a true weapon to game plan against.  While there is certainly no need to upgrade, I don't think he's enough of a difference maker to pay him what other teams might give him on the open market.  Some team with nearly unlimited cap space will see an opportunity to lock up a young, sure-thing, quality starter for nothing but cap space without having to burn draft capital.

For us, Goedert could be older than Ertz was when things fell apart in Philly for him...and on the priciest years of his contract...all before our team is even competitive again.

As much as I hate to say it.  I think the best course is to not trade any/all of our first round for a QB and draft heavy on the defense....Stick with Hurts and maybe get a FA Wr to go along with Smith.  Use Baltimore as the model.  Great running game...physical defense.  Until you can get a big boy QB.

Had we focused on defense like I have wanted to the last few years, maybe we would be a different boat.  But we didn't

Oh man I don't know if I can take another season of him. That's a tough pill to swallow even if it's for the best

I bet he he spent months and months researching it.

The Joe Rogan podcast is on like 3 hours a day, so what's that add up to numbnuts?

They've canceled cancel culture

It all comes down to Rodgers is a selfish a-hole, he was before Covid, he clearly still is after Covid.

Chapelle and Rodgers are too big to fail.

Franchising him would be fine.

I guess.  Minshew isn’t Tannehill and we don’t have Henry. But we have Boston Scott.

Tannehill wasnt even Tannehill until he got to Tennessee and was surrounded by some competence

We need to be playing Minshew yesterday lest we continue spiraling down the abyss

What would the cap hit be to franchise him?

Video showing how well Devonta played but look at the play at :26.  He has a HUGE gain, if not a TD to Watkins if he looks to the left.

Hargrave only has 2 more years under contract.  If he doesn't keep up his level of play (and he's already falling off), then he's more of a solid interior DL than a building block.  If he does keep it up, then I don't think we could or should afford him in 2 years.  Slay should have been traded before this deadline already.  I don't know how much I'd want to expect from Seumalo moving forward...but we don't have anyone else.  Dickerson has a ton to prove both on the field and with his health.

Milton Williams has a lot to prove...but I really hope he can be one of those pillars.

I won’t argue with you on that. But that doesn’t mean howie and lurie wouldn’t and think they are the pillars. i agree with you. However that doesn’t mean howie and lurie do. I tend to think they talk themselves into thinking they have the foundation in place to go get the QB. The eagles really have already shown they are willing to do that as they’ve been connected with multiple QBs through the trade deadline.

Looking around $10 million.  I think they have $19 million or so in cap space...using more than half on one player wouldn't be smart IMO.

Would be nice.
We just need all that plus a first round CB like Elam, 2 late first to early second round LB's in say Lloyd & Dean, a pair of late first to early second round safeties in say Hill & Joseph. This team needs so much it's sickening.

Not sure if they would take Davis as he will be 27 before he's even drafted.

Wait what?  How is that even possible?  He was a senior in HS at 22?

Estimated to be about $11M

Jalen Reagor has 57 receiving yards over the last 6 weeks.

Another Howie gem.

Our WR's as a whole have maybe 250 over that 6 weeks though right?

Eh I'd rather not franchise him then. Maybe get him to agree to a deal with less up front money but more guaranteed in years 3-5 or so

I thought this was due to the video but recently he was accused of a hit-and-run in 2020

Actually I've been looking at it a little more and it looks like the release was primarily due to the video. Raiders fans don't seem to bothered by his release either.

You could transition tag Goedert for less but if some team signs him to a deal that you decline to match, you lose out on the comp pick.

Arnette is gonna release a helluva video threatening Mayock, isn’t he?

Not even Howie wastes first round picks like that.

There’s been issues since the raiders got to Vegas of their players thinking they are gods gift to the community. And basically being aholes to the locals like they should bow to them for coming to Vegas. Have a friend works security in the casinos tell me he’s had multiple issue with players since the strip has reopened

Woof.

I would rather get a deal done as well but this close to free agency it might benefit goedert to just play out his contract and force the issue of a potential tag. He’s never going to hit FA cause he’ll be tagged if they can’t get a deal done. There’s really no rush on his part besides security and really he’s gonna get that if he’s tagged.

ESP also insinuated that we might be "buyers" at the trade deadline and maybe target another WR.......to help the passing game.

So yeah.

I don't think he knows what he's saying. He's just saying words.

He threw 6 passes, can we calm down please?

This HonestNFL guy loses credibility every time he talks about Hurts.

Is this really what we want???  Are we this pathetic??  We won the f'ing SB just a few seasons ago and now we all have to bite our tongues or be overly-impressed with a game that clearly demonstrated that Sirianni knows Hurts isnt an NFL QB.

Is this seriously where we're at, talking about "ripping comebacks perfectly" in a loss where he goes 11/17 for 162 yards?

And that includes two likely TD passes that he didn't "rip to perfection"

I think he's fairly measured.  He's not Hurts is a great QB.  He's saying Hurts looked better.  He was super critical of Gannon and the passive defense.

No.  I feel icky.  I dislike Hurts as a QB.  But I dislike the idea of using all of our picks for an old QB even more.

Just checking.....had me worried there.

I like the idea of getting Russell Wilson but not for three 1st's.
