I thought it originally hit the cross bar. It was clearly several yards short once they showed the other angle.

That Marsh penalty absolutely changed the outcome. Steelers may not get a FG on that drive without the penalty.

Marsh went king fu fighting. Got a penalty as fast as lightning

Nagy burning his last TO on trying to ice  Boswell was stupid.  His team had 26 seconds when they got the ball back, it’s not likely but on a long completion over the middle where you can’t stop the clock, that TO may have helped.

I believe it was about to be a running clock.

It was. The clock only stopped for the measurement. Once they set the ball the Steelers could’ve ran it all the way down to one second, snapped it and kick the field goal to win

Watching on TV I was confused why they said it hit the crossbar. It looked closer than the second angle showed but still looked pretty short.

They likely just assumed a Bears kicker is required to hit the crossbar or an upright when trying a game winning FG. In the playoffs, he has to hit both.

They had to. The clock was stopped after Ben’s run to measure, and would’ve started again.

I’m pretty sure he had too. Big Ben stayed in bounds.  once they measure the ball and get it set they would begin to run the clock again. The Steelers would’ve just ran the rest of the clock out and kicked the field goal if he didn’t call the time out.

I thought it hit the cross bar.

Yea I figured it out after I woke back up, to see the kick that was 10 yards short.  It did look a lot closer from that angle behind the goal posts, but the crossbar call was odd because it didn’t bounce very far.   Riddick hopefully gets a GM job so we get someone else on commentary, but he’s not worse than the other one doing play by play, neither are very good.
I would of never thought I’d miss Gifford, Michaels and Dierdoff so much on Monday nights.

9 out of the bottom 13 are NFC teams.

And here people kept telling me that the Panthers were good and the 49ers were a juggernaut when we couldn't score against them.

IDK how many roughing the passer penalties did the Squeelers get away with in the 4th 1/4? Looked "3 rivers rigged"

The Bears got completely jobbed out last night.

Terrible result for us. Need them to rack up wins.

Silver lining: An AFC wildcard contender won, lowering the Colts' chances for the last WC spot and making our pick better.

That’s how I was looking at it.

Imagine if we somehow finagled our way into that Bears’ trade up for Fields. We’d be staring at four top 15 picks.

Trade down, get their 1st and take Greg Rousseau at 20.

Side note, how do the Giants always seem to find good pass rushers?

Azeez Ojulari has 5.5 sacks on the year.  Great production for a 2nd round pick.

Eh, the value of 1st rounders typically goes off a cliff after the top-15ish. Devonta at 10 was a way better move than picking a much lesser prospect at 20 and crossing your fingers that the Bears suck.

The Steelers got some home cooking last night.  It's not like they are a good team to warrant that, but that was not an unbiased performance by the Zebras. At times. they made it up. If you are going to call ticky tacky ish, call it all the time.  I'm sure Sirianni was unhappy at how some OL were down the field again and it wasn't called.  The Zebras need to drastically improve across the board - at the moment, they ain't good enough

I don’t think think you had to cross your fingers that the Bears would suck. They had signed Dalton to be their starter. Said it on draft night that Gettleman absolutely fleeced the Bears.

And with Howie's history, likely Caleb Farley instead of Smith. I'm happy with how it worked out.

Seems like a major false equivalence to me. You don't know where the cops who died from COVID contracted it, and that isn't in any way relevant in comparison to police involved shootings.

If the vaccine works well enough to mandate it, then the danger you're putting your co-workers and family in should be minimal. Now that so many are vaccinated, that should no longer be an issue. It's an issue for those who haven't been vaccinated or caught COVID, but at that point, it's their problem if they want to risk it.

And I know breakthrough cases exist, but when they're rare and death is rare, it changes the cost/benefit analysis of federal mandates.

And there are obviously drawbacks. If you have people losing jobs, then you have smaller work forces, which can lead to other problems. We saw what happened with the airlines a few weeks back already.

And it depends on if someone has natural immunity or not. If that PT caught COVID and has natural immunity they're more protected than they would have been if they were only vaccinated, so it's not being rational.

This MIGHT be true if there was only one strain of COVID.   Unfortunately there are many and more are coming.

The Giants really got a juicy deal trading back.  Sometimes that grass looks pretty green and I wish we did it, but we already have a shot at 3 first round picks.  If Howie takes that trade and gets into the weeds in the 20's of the 2021 draft, we probably end up with a bust instead of Devonta Smith.  Then we just have one more need at WR and one extra first round pick in a pretty weak draft for the position.

They'd complain with a 1/3 of those call against them.  At least Ben won't take them any further than wild card and done

I guess rather than Smith, ‘I’ would’ve wound up with Paye or Newsome - not sure if they are doing any good (certainly did not want Tony, big drop from Smith).

Or JOK, but I knew that wasn’t happening.

I would love someone random putting a claim in for OBJ, just to see him go to a bad team and his family throw a fit about it. Seems deserving of the man
