If a player is fined and they pay the money directly to the NFL, does anyone know where that money goes? Is it directly pocketed by the NFL as a form of revenue or is something else done with it?

99% sure it’s donated to charity

It’s used for former players in need. They have a foundation set up so it’s basically a donation.

Well there goes my theory that the NFL instituted the taunting rule to make some easy money back from COVID losses they took in 2020.

There really is no logical explanation why that rule was implemented.

The general thought around the league is that with the quiet stadiums last year the coaches got to hear all the trash talk that went on and didn't like it.

Just out of interest, what do you guys then eat for Christmas Day seeing as you've normally already done the whole Turkey for Thanksgiving? More Turkey???

The Who Rib roast.  Usually with some garlic mashed potatoes, a horseradish sauce and Yorkshire pudding with a wine reduction sauce that I make with the drippings.

I do take the free spiral ham I earned at the grocery store which I cook in January so I can get the bone and ham to add to the big pot of red beans that follows.

This Blog is making me hungry.

this year for me my family is spread from east coast , west coast and down south so just me and my girl and dad , he didn't want turkey so i secured a huge brisket for thanksgiving.

Best time to get a deal on brisket is right after the Jewish holidays.

Pretty much. Mine tend to be a bit darker. I use my mother’s recipe passed down to her by my great grandmother.  Use a recipe for chestnut dressing with turkey that has a similar history. Funniest part of it is sage to taste. Nature of sage is when you shake it on, you really smell sage because ground sage is so fine and aromatic. We take turns in the kitchen until it is right or we are out of noses.

I always like to try to analyze roster decisions.

Mac McCain was good enough to be on the active roster all year.  They cut him but add James back to the PS.  If McCain was deserving of a roster spot, why not add him to the PS?  James clearly wasn't being signed by anyone and they know what they have in him from the last few years.

Does McCain need to clear waivers before they could potentially bring him back to the PS?

Yes. Probably replaces James if they think McCain is worth it.  Guessing the open spot is for Howard.

End of an era.

Not quite good enough.

Well the NFL just made their own Covid protocols a joke.

My Father-in-Law would get rib-eyes right from the Butcher, thein his idiot sons would cook them over a direct flame until lthey were shoe leather.

After the first time, i took command of the steaks for my wife and myself, and made sure they were done right, medium rare on the rare side.

It should be a criminal offense to overcook good steak! In fact, it may be in Texas.

Yeah, hanging offense in Texas. Wife likes hers medium rare but that’s a little overdone for me.

Good for Rodgers.

For me too. Here's the secret to cooking a good turkey: dismember it and roast the parts separately.

Try cooking it upside down. Unless you are serving it for that appearance of the skin, this allows for the fat from the dark meat part of the bird to self baste through  the breast and really adds flavor to the breast. You can always flip it the last half hour and if you dry brined it the skin will color nicely.

Single crust Rhubarb pie in the springtime? YUM. Rhubarb cooked down? You can keep it. I used to like the raw stalks just dipped in sugar when I was a kid. It may have had something to do with it being spring growth and having been cut a couple hours ago, dunno.

Rhubarb isn’t edible if not used right after picking.  Both my parents loved rhubarb pie when they would go home to SD.  "Cousin” Gracie would always have one just out of the oven for Dad. She would have apple for us.  Dad’s mom would have a strawberry rhubarb pie picked out of her garden the same day. Those two go well together.
