Zero idea where it came from. Zero idea why I keep doing it.  Not my favorite food, not disgusting but i literally only have it once a year

But I'll crack a beer early. fire up the blackstone, sear everything off, throw it in the crock pot and pick at it all day.

Where did this tradition come from? It’s hard to pin point exactly, but the reasoning is that eating this dish on January 1 each year will bring you wealth and luck all year long. According to German Food Guide, it is said that the tradition comes from people wishing each other as much wealth as the number of shreds of cabbage in the kraut. As for the pork, "The pig has long been a symbol for good luck and well-being” explains the German Food Guide article.

I was reading a story last week about how many times  Lamb has been fined by the NFL, and how many times it has been for that. Some of his team mates are trying to stop him from wasting so much money on something so silly.  He seemingly doesn't give a F about it though

There's no accounting for taste.   My wife loves a 'hawaiian pizza'.   I've learned to enjoy it...  but prefer more savory toppings like sausage, onion and peppers.  BUT... she also married me, so I should have known that there was something wrong with her.   If that's the worst of it... I can handle that.

Grilled pineapple is my favorite way to eat it, any other way is just not as good.

Go to Costa Rica and eat pineapple fresh. It's unlike anything you can get here.

Looks like the total is about 100K. Basically piecing together all the Shefter tweets

610K salary this year Lol.

That's it.  He's either getting his fines paid for by the Jerrah, or he is not the sharpest of people.  Has there ever been a player who has been fined more than he earns in the NFL?

At this moment, Lesean McCoy is regretting going on GMFB. They made him hoola hoop; one did not look amused 😆

The Rodgers witch hunt won’t end well when he wins the Super Bowl or comes close to it. Like Manfred that fing pos got with the Braves.

Looks like Patrick Surtain isn't playing this week. Callahan is also on IR.

It's absurd how we've ducked so many CBs this year.

Week 2: SF played without either starting CB
Week 5: Horn was out, Henderson/Gilmore weren't ready to play
Week 6: Bucs played without SMB & Davis. Sherman got hurt in-game in the 1st quarter
Week 7: Raiders played without Mullen (a big deal) and Arnette (not a big deal)
Week 8: Lions were playing with Okudah and lost Parker (best CB post Okudah injury)
Week 9: Chargers lost Davis & Samuel, 2 of their top 3 CBs.

-

This absolutely makes me think less of Jalen Hurts...and Reagor.

Trend probably continues this week also as I believe Surtain II will be out

My wife likes anchovies.  Doesn’t mean I am going to start eating them on my pizza.

Easier to share a pizza between the two of us.  My son likes different pizza, so I just have some of hers and some of his.

I really liked the pizza and calzones I had in Italy while there. Crust so thin you ate it with a fork and wood oven cooked. Even wood oven joints make it too thick here in the US. The calzones they do like most American meals.  Way too much food and stuffed with packaged ham and mozzarella. In Italy they do a thin crust with a thin layer of prosciutto and a thin layer of fresh made mozzarella.  For pizza, they make all sorts of toppings but a fresh tomato, mozzarella margherita  finished with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh basil leaves is hard to beat.  I did like their peperoni pizza, which I ordered thinking American pepperoni.  The person waiting on me explained that peperoni are peppers in Italy and that it would be spicy.  It was and it was delicious.

Only time I cook with pineapples is on a ham but that is rare.  Like most vegetables and fruits, better raw.  Upside down cake, now that works. I have had on pizza but just not my thing.

Pepperoncini peppers, to be exact, I think.

Someday, perhaps.   That's lower on the list for me.

Italy, Spain, Ireland, England, Germany, Japan, Brazil, Mexico...   it's a long list, but I likely won't get to all of them.  Likely won't get to many of them until retirement... and then I'll have to time it to 'off-season' for better rates.

Listening to the ITB podcast, and Maddox said there has been no talks to his knowledge regarding an extension. That’s no surprise considering we’ve traded for two different slots on rookie deals.

Good. Nickel CBs are like downhill RBs -- valuable, but easy to find good ones.

Wonder if Barnett and/or Maddox will get a comp pick worthy contract...

Both those and some sweet peppers.

Rack of lamb is okay but not a fan of much else on a sheep although my uncle, who raised sheep on his ranch did make a killer lamb burger. Most lamb seems to have more fat than I like with the meat. The fat on sheep doesn’t seem to add flavor I typically like in animal fat. But someone commented on duck being greasy.  Duck fat is wonderful to cook with.  That said, I really would prefer goat to lamb. Hill country is goat raising territory and slow cook whole goat barbecue is mighty good. I here that slow cooked leg of lamb barbecue is good but have never had the opportunity.

Goat and lamb are equal to me.  Never cooked goat myself, but ate plenty over there!

To me it just tastes like slightly gamier, slightly leaner lamb. If I'm doing goat I like it is something highly spiced like a curry or birria. If I'm just roasting, basic braising, or smoking gimme lamb.

I did that last Easter.  Deboned the leg of lamb and smoked it low and slow.  (Fresh mint and other herbs inside the cavity where the bone had been.

Nancy Kerrigan disagrees with that idea.

It's not a witch hunt.  He's being criticized for lying about being vaccinated and offering dumb opinions.  Also, maybe they lose homefield advantage because of it.
