I don't take these rumors seriously for a couple of reasons.

One, all GMs call about almost every player, it's called "due diligence." That's not the same as "trying to trade for him." Big difference between a phone call and serious negotiations. For example Howie may have simply been looking at what they wanted if the legal problems were resolved.

Two, Houston has a strong interest in exaggerating interest in Watson, so they'd be slipping "information" to favored reporters, trying to start rumors.

I'm not sold on Watson as a franchise QB, if you mean top 5 or so. To me he's no different than post-SB Wentz, as never elevated the Houston offense - ranked 17, 11, 14, 18 in points scored in his four seasons there with decent talent on offense (middle of the road). Hurts has the Eagles at 13 without an all pro WR. I expect more from a franchise QB.

Luck and Rivers had Indy at 5th and 9th in points scored, Wentz has them at 8th, they fell to 16th with Brissett.

Of course you don’t. It goes against your narrative that you want to ride with. Meanwhile schefter and mortensen saying they are going after Wilson if he’s available this offseason. Banner has alluded to it as he said yesterday they’d go all in on a podcast. Mosher and caplan have also stated that they been trying for a QB since dealing. Reports they tried to trade up to get Zach Wilson. And they went after watson. You just refuse to believe it and chalk it up to due diligence. ORRRRRR they are telling you they are trying to get their future franchise Qb

Frankly I really don’t care if you take it seriously. Insiders with more knowledge then you and I continue to tell you they are.

So, in summary, the Panther's are hoping that Cam Newton is really the ideal replacement for Cam Newton.

Wow.  We thought the Eagles were dysfunctional.

Yup.

don and I actually had a discussion i want to say during the 2016 season where we talked about allocating cash/cap in FA to defense and using more and more draft picks utilized towards offense as the wave of the future for the nfl as the rule changes have dictated it. There’s always going to be some variables but I would love to know the numbers from each consecutive year since 2016

So you're telling me that he can't notice that literally no one else in the nfl, and probably the world (other than homeless people) dress like that?  Nah, it's a desperate cry for attention.

And people give him the attention he seeks rather than someone close to him saying "Yo dude... you look ridiculous."

2015 Cam lives in their brains like SB Foles lives in some Eagles' fans brains.

Sadly, that's all that's likely living there.   Even 2017 Foles wasn't great... he had about 8 great quarters... all perfectly timed to bring us a Super Bowl.  But, he was always a super-streaky QB, we just happened to catch that streak at the right moment.

Maybe so, but they do need a qb to get them through until their starter is back and if they have the cap  money this year what's the difference?

Newton isn't a starting QB in the NFL any more.   That's a foolish way to spend money to lose games.

I'm late but Josh Reynolds was claimed by the Lions.  Any idea if Eagles put in a waiver request for him?

That would be a great plan... if Howie had any clue how to draft quality offensive skill position players.  Then you can just rollover WRs for new WRs, and RBs for new RBs and never have to invest the big money into them, while investing the money elsewhere... but Howie's WR drafting skills are so bad, if the NFL draft eligible WRs were an ocean, and Howie were in a boat, he couldn't throw a draft pick out and hit water.

Likely won't be leaked if they did or didn't.

Years ago, this would have been a irrationale and crazy thing to do, but in todays society, where the media push false narratives as truth and bury true stories, where the victims are the criminals and the criminals are victims -   This makes perfect sense.

I don’t disagree. Frankly howie deserves to be fired for the ineptitude of drafting, bad contracts and destruction of cap space due to poor restructurings.

I’m more curious to see if that’s the trend that’s been growing around the nfl. I think it would be a great study to find out.

Oh, now here you started it.  Gonna be talking about Kap for the next 3 pages.

I'll start: he sucks.

That’s the problem that I have. So last year and the year before when everyone was calling out wentz washers for making excuses of why his performance isn’t better. We didn’t wanna hear the excuses.

But now we’re willing to make the excuses for hurts but we will just ignore these other QBs have their situations and some even worse scenarios but they just suck. No excuses.

Hurts has 4 more starts than these QBs, I though arm strength was so important it should easily compensate for 4 games of NFL experience.

Since Hurts had to learn a new scheme, he's pretty much in the same boat as these rookie QBs, he's not Mahomes coming off the bench in his 2nd year in KC.

The point of course, is simply that drafting a QB high isn't a sure bet to get a franchise QB, you're more likely to get a QB who's not even in the top 20.

My deterrent hopefully is a 20 month old 165lb  Mastiff, (baby girl) and a Remington 870 with 2 rounds of buckshot and 1 Brenneke slug.
Lots of people use handguns and they miss, knowing full well you are responsible for every round that leaves your barrel, that’s a chance I’m not willing to take.  Some gun owners underestimate how much a 9mm can penetrate, and of course like my neighbor we have geniuses that use a .454 Casull or a .44 mag for home defense just so he can wake me up with the shot, and a bullet that goes through two homes.

He also had an entire year in the nfl learning, training and coaching at the nfl level. You think it’s just 4 more games. It’s an entire year at the nfl level and knowing what to expect. And entire offseason of training at the nfl level since he knew what he needed to get better at in the offseason. And that experience even 4.5 games he played is such an advantage going into an offseason. And knowing from week 1 what to expect. You just casually keep dismissing that like that’s not HUGE. That’s a major advantage he had over rookies. Again another causal thing you ignore so you can justify you narrative. Meanwhile if it were the other way around you’d be the first to scream it from a mountain top.

at this point i am just going to ignore you. I don’t really care about your narratives that usually contradict a previous narrative since you are ever changing depending on what your objective is that day

Gee thanks, there’s hardly a crappy neighborhood in Lewes. They’re great dogs, dumb as a bag of hammers, but very obedient  gentle, with family and people she knows.

I just think he's there to try and win a few games or whatever until Darnold comes back.
