No one is claiming Hurts is a top 7 QB because he has the 7th most total yards for a QB.

This is just the typical meltdown you see from people here anytime something positive about Hurts is posted.

Kettle Meet pot. it’s the same meltdown you have when people give you facts that he’s had a bunch of garbage time hallow stats. Or when we post statistics and video where he doesn’t throw into the middle of the field or leaves a clean pocket too early. Congrats you do the same thing but the opposite side.

OK let me reiterate this you will refuse to call Kirk cousins a top 10 quarterback. Even though his stats for over a half a decade tell you he would be considered that. Why? Because when you watch the game you know he’s not as good as what his stats have shown .

So you’re trying to defend both Ward and Hurts?

Trying to make a point by exaggeration, I believe.  I think most in here would view Hurts somewhere between 20-25 in the NFL QB hierarchy at present.  You'd likely have a tough time finding anyone (even the casual fans) who believe he's in the top half.

so obviously you didn’t get the point. cousins has finish top 10 In stats for quarterbacks over the last six years. Similarly to what jalen hurts is doing. Would you call him a top 10 Qb and parade him around as such knowing cousins routinely against good teams finds himself down significant amount of points cause he played like crap for most of the game til that point?

answer the question because if we are using your method where everything is cherry picked and doesn’t matter. He should easily be considered top 10 QB because we are now basing on stats that don’t paint the entire picture. And everyone knows in those particular games those were hollow meaningless stats because they did nothing to help the eagles win the game and only looks impressive on a box score or fantasy football

But it’s good to see your standards dropped from we want our players playing at a high-level throughout the entire game or most of the game but now is well at least we still played hard when they got down 3 scores. we should give them a participation trophy at the end of each game for playing hard for 60 entire minutes. Maybe the parents of the players can come in at half time and give them some cut up orange slices and Capri Suns and tell him all that matters is your played hard for 60 mins. Because apparently that’s all that matters once we get down 20-30 points is that we continue to play hard for the whole 60 minutes. F*** winning football games or being competitive for a majority of the game. No no no we don’t need that we need to just be happy they play hard for 60 minutes. I was unaware that our standards have become well at least we’re getting down by three scores we are participating hard until the final whistle.

So if we pull Jalen hurts in those games and put minshew into those games and I’m guessing he likely isn’t going to be like we’re down 27 and we aren’t coming back. I’m just not gonna play hard for the rest of the 20 minutes we have left. I’m also guessing if they did that minshew would then have those hallow meaningless stats

You put words in my mouth which I never said. You refer to an argument you and evidently others have been making regarding Kirk Cousins of which I have never been a part. To me everything you say here is irrelevant. We’re in different rooms here.

Me and Kirk Cousins? Where did that come from? I don't know if I've ever posted on Cousins in 20 years. Hold on. I'll look.

Nope. Did a quick search of my posts and I don't see any mention of Cousins.

Should I go back into the locked segment on the old site? Nah.

If you can find anything I said about Cousins anywhere, in any context, please cite it. At this point I would be curious to see what I might have said.

Otherwise your guarantee is as worthless as your argument.

Look, we can all see that dreamy look in your eyes every time you talk about him. You and Kirk should just come out already.

Smith is playing the part, also is Hurts even on pace to complete 102 passes to our WR's as a whole? lol (joking)

Ouch.  Now @austinfan will not respond.  He has a habit of that when you post facts that make him look foolish.

No wonder you think so highly of Hurts.  A guy with a losing record is a top 15 QB in your mind.

IDK. Lamar is really fast, and he seems to always escape the big hits. I think he's more like Randall Cunningham, RGIII... Perhaps one day he'll take one bad hit, probably to his leg, and it'll mess him up forever. Cam Newton, Carson Wentz... those guys just kept running into big hits. You knew it was going to add up and their days were numbered.

Lamar has the physical tools Hurts wishes he has. Hurts has the poise Lamar wishes he has.

Lamar has been leaning into hits recently - not sure why, but last night he was looking for contact. He ain't big enough to sustain that

Screw the cousins argument. If you want to come on here and say Jalen hurts played like a top 25 quarterback I would somewhat agree. I would say probably 17-23 range. That said i think there’s a massive drop off in talent after around top 12

However it’s eye rolling when people (not you… really eagles Twitter) state because he’s 7th in the league in total yards, yards are yards (when most would say that’s BS and context of the game matters) that means he hasn’t been close to a problem for the Eagles and he is fine. Meanwhile the context of when you watch the game you can see there’s been games where he has hallow stats that don’t accurately reflect his performance.

And I’m not about moral victories of he finished playing hard all 60 mins and got us close like your first response last argument. You can disagree with me but I think the Buccaneers playing on a Thursday night and being up 21 didn’t wanna sustain even more injuries (and had a bunch going into that game) and tried to get out of Philly by coasting the rest of the way. my personal belief if that game was played on Sunday and not Thursday, I think Tampa Bay would’ve done what they did to Miami the previous week and just boat raced them in the second half.

A top # QB is pointless.

I just care about being a franchise QB. Hurts at this moment is not.

Idc If you’re the 5th best QB if there are only 3 franchise QBs in the league.

I’m trying to figure out which is dumber. Suggesting we can potentially build a championship team around Hurts or comparing Jalen Waddle to Greg Ward…

I keep running draft sims at it just doesnt work to force a rd1 qb….

but the ones i actually like probably sneak into the bottom of rd1 to get that 5th yr option like Strong and Ridder…

if you dont take a qb rd1 you can come away with three foundational pieces.

You might be joking but your not far off. He's on pace for 157, and that's predominately using stats when Sirianni had him throwing 40+ times a game vs the 15 the last two weeks.

It’s a shame he is a meathead

Interesting that Surtain is listed as Questionable and not Doubtful or Out.

I don’t know I think you can make the argument he’s right at like 15. After the top 10 I think there’s a drop off. I’d put (in no particular order) josh Allen, mahomes, herbert, brady, rodgers, dak, Wilson, Stafford (i think talented but also benefits of being on the rams), murray, Lamar. The next group of QBs you have are burrow, carr, wentz, cousins, tannehill (he was much better the previous two years then this year but more overall team success this year), Ryan, baker, Mac jones, hurts, bridgewater, Jimmy G. Really only burrow, jones have the upside to be consistently top 10 every year down the road.

** would include Watson if he was playing this year in the top 10.

the giants since he’s returned from his injuries have managed to not target him like his last two weeks prior to the injury. i don’t get the giants offense because he is their best playmaker right now. Slayton has regressed badly. Golladay can’t stay healthy. And Shepard isn’t as dynamic and can’t stay healthy. He’s gonna wind up reverting back to 4th WR when they all return.
