And that won't fly against a good defense when it matters...esp if the weather is messy.

But then you'd like to think Sirianni will mix things up...

Greg Lewis has been called for a 15 yard penalty. Yep, the coach.

Big Red fuming

The whole thing was messed up

Not really. He beat a bad team with short passes. That's what he does.

I see no reason to "take shots” down the field when you are getting chunks of yards consistently elsewhere.  It was unnecessary today that’s for sure.  So all good

next week they will stretch the field more for sure

It's one of those where you think, what the hell is going on there?  The Browns came to play today

Browns player just got ejected from the game for stepping on chiefs player then shoving a chiefs coach. But after watching replay I’m not sure I agree with it

Lewis and Harrison should've been ejected.  Not sure why Lewis got involved there.

So Epps concussion, JJAW ankle. Any others?

Something dinged up Kelce but didn’t seem to be serious. Don’t really recall anything else.

WE DON'T NEED NO FING BLITZES

A miracle we made it through a game without a major injury.

Didn't see a whole lot of blitzing did we... Not that they needed to. The front 4 were getting consistent pressure without having to.

I gave us 50/50 to win

10% to blow em out on road

this is awesome

I haven’t read the Blog at all since kickoff so a few thoughts that probably were already covered as nauseum…

* I think Sirianni absolutely killed it today. Not perfect, but absolutely great today. There were a couple of play calls and personnel groupings I’d like to have back, but overall a super optimistic start. He was aggressive going for it on fourth, going for 2 after a penalty and most of all, he called a game that suited Hurts really well. The TD to Smith was all about the playcall.

* I don’t think Hurts was as good as his stats showed, but that was obviously a promising start nonetheless. He broke the pocket too early, and his pass to Ertz was dreadful. The throw to Goedert was something else. Really impressive.

* The DL was dominant, but couldn’t finish off sacks in the first three quarters. I’m not sure there was a front four player who didn’t play well.

* The LBs were absolute garbage in the first half. I wasn’t paying attention to substitutions early, did we start playing more Bradley and Edwards on expected run downs? Wilson couldn’t have been worse against the run. Embarrassing.

* Outside of penalties, the OL was really good. I’m sure there were folks in here complaining about a lack of preseason reps, but I’m not going to worry too much about the sloppiness. That should get ironed out.

* Gannon must have had some damn good adjustments. The first two series were gross.

* How about that punter, eh?

Weak

To be real, he looked respectable. Explosive but involvement was inconsistent. Which is probably going to be a theme with him.

olsen even mentioned we didn't blitz all game

Going to be interesting to watch that. Do we think Gannon isn't going to dial up the blitz a lot?

Nope.

Cover-2 shell all game.  They even spoke to Gannon's comfort with all the underneath stuff.  "Don't let the ball go over your head".

They basically eliminated Ridley after the first drive.

Yeah it doesn’t look like Harrison intentionally stepped on him. Guy on ground had his leg raised, Harrison was lifting his foot to get out of the way and got bumped by OL, forced him to step back to regain his balance then immediately shoved by coach. Shouldnt retaliate to a opponents coach but to get ejected was ridiculous.
