Honestly, Davion Taylor's play the last few weeks has been very encouraging. He and Edwards are a massive upgrade over Wilson and Singleton. That's more about Wilson and Singleton, but both Edwards and Taylor are showing improvement.

Singleton is still getting a bunch of snaps.  Avery is too but kind of invisible.  Nice to see Patrick Johnson on that one play.

Like the Detroit Lions, I will take that tie and celebrate!

Saw a lions fan at the bar yesterday. I congratulated him on not losing. Said thanks means a lot. Lol

No he's not a question at all. I have zero hope in him ever having any semblance of a meaningful role on the Eagles.

I'm not having any hope either but Agholor was a lost cause after year 2.  Then year 3 he improved massively.  I think they will keep Reagor for 1 more year.  If he doesnt take the next step by then, he'll be gone.

The counter point is that of their 4 wins last year, 3 were against backup QBs (Mullens, DiNucci and Hill), and the 4th was against Daniel Jones. The QB play is improved this year -- I'm not a Hurts fan (but warming up after yesterday), but Wentz was the worst QB in the league last year.

Honestly, the last 2 games have been encouraging. We hung with a good team in the Chargers, and went on the road and spanked an adequate team in the Broncos. I felt better after the Chargers loss than I have in a long time.

Well, they sucked last year so improvement might just as well be tied to health of the team as AFan’s stats.  I see improvement, which is a positive but this team is severely devoid of talent on defense.  Reagor is a huge disappointment and JJAW is a poor man’s Jack Stoll.  WR orientated offensive coaches can’t pull a rabbit out of the hat with those two and Hightower is a PS player.  Lot of assets to that position that aren’t paying dividends.

Not to take away from what the eagles did in the chargers game, but i thought the chargers were going to really take off after that browns game and herbert playing at the level he was. Their coaching the last few years has really held them back and injuries to the defensive side of the ball.

But they’ve really come crashing back down to earth. They’ve lost 3 of 4. Yesterday Minnesota was really in control of that game late in the third quarter and never looked back. (Granted Minnesota Probably should be better than 4-5 as they lost their first two games in OT because of their kicker and then missed an easy field goal that would’ve beaten the cardinals. Plus took the ravens to overtime). The ravens destroyed them on a trip to the east coast. Then the patriots similarly to the Vikings just took it to them in the later stages of the game. they should get back on track next week if Big Ben is out for Covid.

Hurts is about the 20th best QB in the NFL after 14 starts in his career. And he's leading an offense that is a work in progress. There's something to build on - and as Mahomes shows this year, the talent around you does have a big impact on a QB's performance. He's not going to carry a team on his back, but he's probably good enough to win with better talent - and as Foles Flacco, Delhomme et al show, get into the playoffs and anything can happen.

The defense is playing better, but there's only so much Gannon can do this year - he can't manufacture a pass rush when he doesn't have the DL and his LBs aren't good at blizing - and his safeties are too slow to CYA on CB blitzes. He's not going to be able to stop top QBs without more talent - Schwartz couldn't do it when his talent level declined. JJ only became a top DC when he came here and had six top players on his defense. But he's learning on the job and should be better as they improve the athleticism in the back seven and land a pass rusher.

There's a good news/bad news with winning and making the playoffs, the draft picks fall to #20 and #52 or so, the veterans keep playing (can't give up on the season and play kids), but the young players get a taste of more intense competition and the team gets more confidence going into next season.

The optimal outcome is to go 7-10 or 8-9, stay in the playoff race until the last week. But strange things happen in a game with a pointed ball.

Give Ward some of his snaps.  He needs a slap at this point.

C’mon, man. Murray has obviously been playing hurt most of the season. He had 819 rushing yards last season.

I agree.  In a normal year, Kyler is near the top.

And Dak hurt his leg seriously last year.  But the premise wasn’t in the past, it was currently.  And it was Bacarty.  Currently, as a QB runner, Hurts is #2.

Murray might not be healthy the rest of the year with that ankle. Additionally he was already dealing with a shoulder injury so I’m guessing they rather him not run as much and take potential hits. Their schedule outside of the lions and bears is actually fairly difficult. Still got 2 with seattle (their games are always crazy when they play), rams at home, Indy, at Dallas

I completely agree.  Kyler is special.  I'm an Oklahoma fan, I love Kyler...but they do have a tough road ahead.

Next time someone defends passing 60% of time... show them this and remind them this is what a good run game looks like

Completely agree. I want all 3 first round picks on defense. Give me 2 edge players and a safety please. Or even a DT, if someone like Leal is there.

My faith in Sirianni grew much more than my faith in Hurts

Siri is coaching his arse off right now.  Running the ball, moving the pocket, hes picking his spots when to let Hurts play like a drop back QB and when to force him into quick decisions

The guy can coach. Corny as hell, but hes a keeper I think

My 2 biggest issues with Murray is i worry at his size that he gets beat up and is not the same player at the end of the season as he is the first 6-7 games of the season. He kind of had the same issues this year. Started the year on fire then gradually got more beat up and wasn’t nearly as good late in the year. The second issue is there’s always 2-3 plays in the game that leave you say wtf are you doing. One of my good friends is a diehard cardinals fan. Tells me all the time i always leave the game saying he always had 1-2 head scratching decisions and you hope they just don’t come back to bite us in the ass in the end.

I don’t know how many people on here watch the titans closely but jeffery Simmons has been a beast for that team. When you watch him he really does remind you a lot of a young fletcher cox. I know HE and I loved him coming out even with the ACL injury. He’s thriving with Schwartz down in Tennessee.

The second half also showed how much more they need to add to the offense.

Scott/Howard are not a credible starting pair, you can make do, but you'll want to upgrade. Don't need a 1st rd pick, but you do have to spend some assets, or revive Sanders or both.

Smith is the real thing, Watkins has been a solid #2 (on his way to 800 or so yards), Reagor is still a ??? But no big 3rd down target (the QB's friend), either a Jeffrey (win jump balls) or Avant (perfect routes/positioning/hands). And that's a very inexperienced group, still learning how to run routes, how to run a QB scramble fire drill.

Goedert is their 2nd best receiver, with him out they were in trouble. They'll extend him, they have to.

Stoll is coming along nicely, but he's limited, he may be a solid #2 outlet kind of guy (Lewis, Celek) but if he's more than your 4th or 5th option, you're in trouble.

Jackson has tremendous upside, but is a work in progress, just converted to TE and is learning on the job.

Dickerson is also learning on the job (no TC, switch from center to LG) as is Driscoll (switch from OT to OG), and it shows in pass protection. Inside pressure is what drives QBs out of the pocket b/c they can't step up into the pocket - fix this and you'll see Hurts get more comfortable. And blitz pickup will be an issue with a young OL that hasn't played together.

Scott and Howard have been good at taking what is open.  The reality is that you don't need better than that do have a winning running game.  I think whether Sanders can come in and hit the right hole is more of an open question.  I don't think RB is worth a top 100 pick at this point.

Ideally I'd like to see three of some combination of:

CB- Derek Stingley, LSU; Andrew Booth, Clemson; Kaiir Elam, Florida; Ahmad Gardner, Cincinatti

EDGE- Kayvon Thibodeaux, Oregon (pipe dream); Aidan Hutchison, Michigan; George Karlaftis, Purdue; Drake Jackson, USC; Myjai Sanders, Cincinnati

DT- DeMarvin Leal, Texas A&M; Jordan Davis, Georgia

S- Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame; Jordan Battle, Alabama

LB- Nakobe Dean, Georgia; Devin Lloyd, Utah

I gotta be honest -- Stingley scares me a little. Seemingly living off his rep from his freshman year.

Good to get a win.  Good to see Howard continues on his contribution on running the ball.  Scott also contributed.  A nice change to see Hurts as a passing QB and not a leading rusher.

This begs for a question: why the coaches did not run the ball more in early games.  They might be forced into using Howard when Sanders went down.  Hope they will continue to run the ball even when Sanders returns from injury.

Did what I could for you -- took Hamilton, Karlaftis, and Davis.  Dean and Lloyd were off the board by the time I got around to LB, but I like Christian Harris there anyway.  CB waited until Round 3.
