Yeah just edited my post. Wild either way that playoffs are a legit possibility. Not sure how to feel about it.

The nfc is top heavy. Got Arizona, rams, Bucs, packers and cowboys. Then there’s a significant drop off. With Jameis id have said the saints were atop the next tier but without him they are in this group of Carolina, eagles, seattle (with Wilson back and rounds into form) and atlanta (i see them as the worst team in that group). I brought up a couple weeks back if rodgers and Wilson are dealt to Vegas and Denver then the nfc next year has its top 5 QBs in the conference as brady, dak, Stafford and murray. Then 5 you could make the argument for like 4-6 QBs that are either old, declining and not what they once were, cousins or young and unproven.

Did Dickerson get back in the game when Kelce was out for a few plays, maybe 1 or 2?
I thought he would back up Kelce over anyone else while Seumalo is out.
Where are the Eagles in terms of Kelce’s replacement, Seumalo or Dickerson?    I’m hoping Issac gets it, he’ll be 28 going into next season guessing he comes back at 100%.

But the cabana boy was ok, right?

Before we discuss the playoffs... it might be a good idea to have the Eagles win a home game, or even win two games in a row.

Agreed, and...

Before we discuss the upcoming draft...it might be a good idea to know exactly where we are picking.

Before we discuss free agency...it might be a good idea to know exactly how much cap room we have.

Before we think about dinner...it might be a good idea to poop out lunch.

Yeah.... that was the point. 🤦‍♂️   Discussing the playoffs for a team that's 4-7 is a bit premature... a team that hasn't won a home game, nor 2 in a row, but somehow we want to look ahead at all the 'gimme' games on the schedule and declare superiority over the likes of the Jets, Giants and Team...  This team hasn't done anything that would or should qualify them for the playoffs yet.  Why should the playoffs be discussed until they do some things that every 'playoff team' has always been able to do?   2 game winning streak?  Win a home game?   Has any playoff team ever made it without those two feathers in their cap?  Nope.   Maybe we could wait until they do ONE of those before we get the playoff bus in full gear.  Hey, they could do both at the same time with a win on Sunday.  Wouldn't that be fun?

We going to SoFi stadium, baby, lets gooooo.

I thought for sure that would be on. 2 of his highlights weren't even in the world of football. Weak segment this week.

Looking at mock drafts and tinkering with draft simulators, seems there are quite a few intriguing DEs to be had RDs 2-5.

Question:

Is it absolutely necessary to come away with a DE early in the 1st round?

I'm leaning towards the camp of trade back with one of those three 1st RDers and target a DE like Sanders or Ojabo late in the round.

Look for some mid round gems at the position in players like Tyreke Smith, Isaiah Thomas, Ali Gaye.

Ideal scenario would be Hamilton, Leal/Davis, and Sanders/Ojabo in the 1st with additional early 2023 picks added.

Smith has one year and not much to show for it.  Potential. Thomas has potential but may be a bit old for that and had better players in front of him. Gaye strikes me as not much more than a fourth rotational DE.  None of them had the production of Tarron Jackson.  None strikes me as having good bend.  Most seem limited in their pass rush moves.  I would like a starter, not a rotational player. I don’t think any of those three offer what Barnett does, if that explains my concern.  They are likely day three players.

Nice, especially the Ojabo grab in R2.  I do wonder how much he benefits playing across from Hutchison though.  I personally in that scenario would try for a Myjai Sanders at 26, and try to grab Pickett or Ridder in R2.  I'm so hot/cold on Strong.

Yeah, I rarely ever look at draftee's ages.  When someone said 26 I was shocked.  Glad to hear it isn't true.  He's the 2nd best DT in the draft.

I guess it's possible this is incorrect

But according to his HS football team history, he was a senior during the 2012/2013 season so he's gotta be mid 20's

Or beat a team that wasn’t fourth in their division last year.

That's what the VP of Player Personnel and Director of Scouting get paid the big bucks to answer.  What is the dropoff in talent from Hutchinson/Karlaftis/Drake Jackson to Sanders/Ojabo/Jermaine Johnson?

I'd say the future at DE and S looks bleak, so the Eagles should address both positions as early as possible -- JMO, though.

I'm hoping they sign either Marcus Williams or Jessie Bates in FA. Draft another in round 2 like Joseph, Cine, Cattalon, Battle, Hill...

Faalele is a waist bender, not near as quick as Mailata or Dillard and grabs too much.

Most college OL are getting good technique training for the first time in their lives at college.  Lane Johnson was a QB and a pretty good one in HS. He went to Kilgore, known more for their dance team, as a freshman and played QB and TE.  He transferred to Oklahoma and redshirted.  His sophomore year, he played TE and DE. Johnson didn’t move to the OL until his junior year.  So Faalele has one more year playing OL at D1 than Lane.  And he went to IMG before college.

Not "quite as athletic” as Jordan?  Faalele ran a 5.62 40 and a 5.14 short shuttle at 395 lbs at IMG. That’s Matt Pryor glacial.  Jordan ran a 5.12 forty with a 4.67 short shuttle at 345 lbs. and he learned the quick side step from JP.  Now Jordan isn’t as athletic as Lane or even Dillard but he is much closer to them than Faalele is to him.

Not sure you can teach Faalele to knee bend, not overreach and grab at this point.

He's a slug, I don't see him being much of an NFL prospect honestly as well.

"I just tried to force the ball back" to the middle of the field, Bridgewater said, per Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post. "When you sit in a team meeting and watch Coach put up plays throughout the league and two-minute situations and different things, our defense has guys running toward the sideline. We always say: 'The sideline is your friend.' I tried to force the ball back. That's all I tried to do right there."

That's surprising. His catch was practically the definition of it

C'mon football gods, please grant Tyler Higbee 42 yards or a TD.

Don't smite me for benching Devonta Smith.

It will never happen again!

Crap.

Yeah, Carolina was so good last year. Woohoo, we beat a 5-11 team.
