Sanders is the best RB on the team.  Comical to read people acting like he shouldn't be the starter, should be the odd man out or the 3rd pack.

If you give Sanders the amount of touches the other RBs have gotten the past few weeks then you will get great production from Sanders.

he  might be , but he seems to be struggling with which hole to hit LOL , he's running right into traffic when a cut to the left or right would have opened for him. not hatin just sayin

He's also proven to be fragile. So you have to limit his touches. And we were discussing how and when those touches would come. I don't think anybody here thinks he isn't the best RB of the bunch, but he cannot sustain 15 carry games for very long.

Man how exciting was he.  Added a whole other dynamic to that team and was such a mismatch.  Sucks he got hurt is an understatement.  He was going to have a big role and that injury totally changed that offense.

I think that's completely overblown.  People are talking like he was really struggling this year and losing a lot of yards.  He has been averaging 4.8 YPC this season and that's without being allowed to get into any sort of flow in the game.

I hate those lists. They just copy and paste literally anyone. I remember back in 2019 when they put it out and Mike Groh was on it.

Yep, I'm not sure how Gannon could be on anybody's list of people to interview for a head coaching vacancy at this point.  I think most Eagle fans would be happy to drive him to the airport if he was offered another job.

Scott is 5 for 34, 6.8 Y/R

Gainwell is 20 for 173, 8.7 Y/R

Yeah I said Gainwell has been good in the pass game, I think Scott has been better every where else

With sanders gone Gainwell has seen less snaps for whatever reason I don't see the point of giving him more just cause Sanders is back.

Imo Scott should have been getting touches early on but tough to get him touches when only running the ball 9 times a game.

I like what the eagles have going with Howard and scott right now

Howard runs so hard and wears on a D and scott doesn't mess around he just gets the ball and hits the hole.

If it ain't broke why fix it?

Sanders is the most talented but he hasnt played to his talent.

Too many missed holes too much dancing regressed in the passing game and as a blocker...he's the one back in the roster who has the ability to break a big one but when he doesn't it hasn't been anything great.

Howard has better vision and picks up more yards after contact rarely has negative yards and Scott has been the same, hit the hole get what one can.

If Sanders would just hit the hole and go he could be really good but too many times he has been indecisive and it's led to negative plays

It's two different arguments, IMO. If Gainwell is better in the pass game although Scott is a better pure RB, it wouldn't make sense to replace Gainwell with Scott in the passing game. So in obvious passing downs or designed RB pass plays, Gainwell gets the nod. And with Sanders gone Gainwell snaps have gone down because they moved away from the passing game to focus on a run heavy offense. So I'm not arguing to revert back to a pass happy offense, just that if the situation presents itself, Gainwell should be in the game for the passing game.

The second argument is Scott vs Hurts vs Sanders vs Howard in who runs the ball. One ball with a lot of mouths to feed. If you want to work Sanders in his touches have to come from someone.

Raise that pick Jets.  Hope Flacco does really well.

Considering it appears we're gonna be a very run heavy team, that needs to play with a lead, perhaps it behooves us to start taking the ball to open the game. I know conventional wisdom is defer and take the 2nd half kick, but does that change when our offensive philosophy dictates that we can't really afford to fall behind?

He really ignores any weaknesses at all, and only paints in black and white. It's weird. There's lots of shades of grey, but he just refuses to acknowledge them.

I think people are severely overstating Miles dancing around.  You don't get a 4.8 YPC when you are constantly being tackled behind the LOS but bust off a few larger runs.  The only game where he struggled running the ball this season when given the chance was the Chiefs.

He is the best RB on the team and should be given the chance in this new running focused offense to get the most of the rushing attempts at RB.  If he falters then adjust and give more to Howard or Scott but until that point the team is best served if Miles gets fed the ball.

Definitely a great idea to pick his brain. Maybe that's one of the reasons he's staying in the pocket more because Peyton wouldn't really have any advice for running and scrambling

Except he can't handle being fed the ball. He's not a bell cow. He's a home run hitter. He'll be most useful at around 10 touches a game. That should give him a much better chance of staying healthy while still providing some pop. How many touches do you think he should get?

Who is saying he should be the bell cow? He should just get the most rushing attempts split between Sanders/Howard/Scott.

Peyton: "When you drop back, first look to the right to see if HOF WR Marvin Harrison is open.  If not, go back to the left and find soon-to-be HOF WR Reggie Wayne.  It's really not that difficult."

I'm in a chat group with some buddies, one a Lions fan, couple Packers fans and a 9ers fan...the Lions fan was bored today and posted that since 2000, the Lions point differential is -1,542. They've only had a positive PD 4 times since 1998. Jesus Christ. Pre 2000, Lions were +308.

Packers since 2000 are +1,452. 20th century they were +2,179.

Eagles since 2000 is +1,112. Pre-2000, it's ugly at -806 from 1933-1999.

49ers, since 2000 are -450. From 81-99 they were +2,693, which is crazy. From 50-99 they were +2,096.

Anyway, just some fun with stats on a Wednesday.

You said he should be fed the ball. The hell does that mean?

I don't think the characterization of Sanders bouncing everything outside is fair.  We are calling different run plays now.  Duos, traps, tackle pulls, etc. between the tackles.

Prior to the Lions game, there were a lot of RPO called where the run was an outside zone.  So seeing Sanders run horizontally looking for the crease doesn't necessary mean that he chose to avoid the designated gap.  There probably wasn't one there to begin with.

He's been watching from the sideline.  He sees the massive holes that Howard and Scott are running through and can't wait to get the opportunity to make the safety miss on the way to the end zone.

Gee.  If every one of his home runs started at our one-yard line, he'd have an even higher average.  That damn goal line.
