I don't think LBs are a bad value early in the draft.  Certainly teams have done well drafting LBs in the top 100.

Yeah ok, third round seems like a good idea. I like Taylor, that‘s a good pick.

I get that...  for me, the health impacts whether I let him test the waters of free agency versus locking him up before then.   I'm not against bringing him back, but at a discount.  The way Howie has been doing these extensions, he's always putting these guys at top dollar or pretty close to it.   I have no interest in that with Sanders.  He can return, but at a relatively low price, not at what Howie has been doing.  And frankly, I'm not even worried about whether or not he gets signed elsewhere.  He's been no more effective than Howard and Scott.   They are getting a tiny fraction of what he might get in an extension.  And frankly, I'd rather have two cheap RBs that can rotate than one expensive one.

I agree with you.  One the position just has such a sharp decline that big money often works out to be wasted.  You're also right that he has not been more effective than Howard or Scott this season.  There's also what Gainwell brings as both a runner and receiver.  He would have to do a lot and in my mind really that mostly means become a receiving back in a way that he hasn't been yet in his career.

The now 2-7 Jets in a rebuilding year gave up a draft pick for a declining unvaccinated 36 year old QB with a generous contract.

What a ridiculous move that was.

To think he is now the starter..

And some clowns here were loving Joe Douglas, the football guy that knows his stuff..

Yup. But still doesn't excuse signing him in the first place.

Miami is likely picking between 6-10 now, and safeties rarely go top 5, so this is very possible. If DEs go early, I think it's Stingley/Hamilton for us. I'm good either way.

He's one of the best safety prospects in recent memory though. Actually which safety was a better prospect this century? Sean Taylor comes to mind

I don't know enough about Hamilton yet, but Eric Berry was a top 5 guy.

There's no way the Eagles should leave Kyle Hamilton on the board unless it's to draft Thibodeaux, IMO.  And, it certainly appears right now Thibodeaux will be the presumed #1 pick -- but it is DET currently picking, after all.

I think the Eagles picks will end up picking somewhere around 10, 14 and 17 though -- so it may not matter.

Where does Hamilton stack up against Sean Taylor, Eric Berry, Ed Reed, Earl Thomas as a prospect?

Being less dumb than the Jets is quite a low bar to set, I agree.

Have to get either Thibodeaux or Hamilton IMO. They are two of the best defensive prospects in recent memory and we have so much ammo to move up.

Yea, Eric Berry was an extremely highly rated prospect, is my point. I don't know enough about Hamilton to make a comparison.

Henry Ruggs already missed a required alcohol test as part of his bail conditions -- just for anyone who thinks he should get less than 45 years in prison.  He's now required to go back to court on Monday.

Had to bold 'prospect' so that I didn't get flamed for comparing him to their NFL careers lol

I'd rather they use the ammo to draft 3 really good defensive players, honestly.  Spend all those picks on Thibodeaux (or Hamilton) and he busts, that's a franchise-wrecking move.

That's true. Minkah/DerwinJames went in the 10-20s. Adams went 6. Berry went 5. Landry went 6.

That's probably the ceiling for Hamilton.

Scott has a place in the offense but it isn't the place of getting the most carries.

Agree.

I'd give Howard the most.

whats it say about us to sign him for the contract we did as a back up and then trade the same pick for a guy who almost didnt dress all year.

Flacco is a total bum and I was pissed we signed him.

Minshew is young and can play, I am happy to have him as our backup.

A bad move followed by a good one.

Hutchinson with Miami’s pick, Hamilton with the Eagles pick and Dean with Indy’s pick, assuming Lloyd is already gone.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone when Howie takes Corral, Neal, Pickett, or London, throw in one of the WR’s from Ohio St, as well, but he’ll definitely get a top D-lineman.

I agree with it. Let them play.

I'd give Howard the second most but you're limiting the potential to get that huge 60+ yard run from Sanders that you aren't going to get from Howard if you don't give Sanders more rushes.

Ground game has worked better with Howard and Scott as they do not have many less than 2 yard carries.  You can't keep handicapping the offense with 3rd and 8 hoping you get a 60+ yard carry.  I will point out, Howard has the longest carry by a RB for the Eagles this year.

Until someone does it to Brady/Rodgers/Mahomes/etc and they will change heart. There is no excuse for concussing player in that scenario when you collectively pee your pants when a player glares at the other sideline and is fined for it

He's on house arrest but that's not good.

That we made a kinda dumb mistake but got bailed out of it because of an even dumber mistake by the Jets?
