Yeah i always get the two years confused cause they won it back to back. Howard was 06 and rollins was 07. For some reason i always think Howard won it in 07 when his was 06.

On TDN last night, I read through the scouting report on each of the top 12 safeties in the draft this year. 

My opinion after that reading is that Varone McKinley III is probably my favorite safety after Hamilton. According to what I read there, he may be the best ball hawking safety in this class. And after watching some youtube stuff, I see that despite being a PAC12 defender, this guy is a solid hitter as well.

Brisker is nice, but lacks big program experience as a transfer from Lackawanna Community College. 

Daxton Hill is nice, but also is a bit inexperienced.

Catalon is injury prone, and at 5'10'' Im not confident that he will ever be able to shed that label. 

Battle lead the team in missed tackles in 2020, and is questionable in man coverage.

All of those guys are ranked ahead of McKinley, who seems to be a full well rounded player at the position with standout ball hawking ability. He probably belongs at #2 on safety rankings.

 

 

Brandon Joseph from Northwestern is 7th on their list but seems like he could shoot up draft boards when draft website scouts get around to watching guys even from insignificant programs like Northwestern.
