I totally forgot there was even a game on.

Also am wondering if some folks in here even know who Jimmy Rollins is.

That's just the truth slapping a Hurts Hater down to reality.

Bro I watched like 5 seconds of it. Just cuz some nerd can make a video on YouTube doesn’t make them an expert.

Hurts played well on Sunday. I don’t hate him at all. Not everyone deals in absolutes like you. The world isn’t black and white young man.

I would agree with you but the video shows you the coaches cam breakdown of plays.  You can agree or disagree with what he says and some times I do disagree with his assessment on plays but the visual reality is there for you to observe.

Yeah you don't hate him.  Your hate of him from the start of offseason up through kickoff of Week 10 says otherwise.

But, but, RTK watches the All-22.  That's how he knew DJax was open ALL game vs the Saints in that playoff game and Foles just sucks and couldn't get him the ball.  It was all Foles sucking and not because the CB who was covering him most of the game went out with an injury and then DJax started catching passes.  C'mon, man!  It's never the player RTK has a man crush on, it's always everyone else who is to blame.

Hurts played well vs DEN, for ONE half.  He played well vs man coverage.  If I'm a DC I'm playing zone on him, blitzing from his left and rolling the coverage to his right.  Easy.  Peasy.

Sorry, I just watched the Flyers tie it up with 8 seconds left then a wild 3v3 OT and then they ish the bed like usual in a shoot out.  And a long day of work on top of it.  I'm in a mood.

That is funny that you bring up that Saints game coaches footage because it is the exact same stuff if not even worse than the type of stuff that has been dissected to hate on Hurts this entire blog.  Like that picture that was discussed for like 15 pages of a screen shot of a passing play vs the Packers when Hurts first came in of people saying he missed a chance to throw it to a WR.

I watched some of that video and there’s plenty of times he is breaking down dumb decisions Hurts made. Watching that makes me reconsider how well I thought Hurts played.

He doesn’t process things very well. Luckily for him he is an above average athlete as far as nfl QBs go.

And no that doesn’t mean I hate him. It means I think he has a low ceiling as a potential franchise QB. Hell, Sirianni has accepted they need to run the ball 60% of the time

I laughed.

Ok I don't know how big the state is or that it's boomed in population with a bunch of people that don't give a f.  The question remains, do you see a franchise lasting in a state that is 50% native and rabidly attached already and 50% non-native or doesn't GAF.  Let me pose it a different way...boob (Texas Inst of Tech since I got censored) becomes a D1 school, do people drop their UT or A&M allegiance cuz it's 'closer'.  You know Texas bud...a team in San Antonio would become the same as Jax after a decade at most.

AFan spent a long time in the area.  I have close family in the area and grew up in Texas.  I don’t think you understand the dynamic of central Texas.   They don’t want to be Houston or Dallas and would turn to the San Antonio team.  For the NFL, stadium and filling it is part of it but TV market is even bigger.  San Antonio/Austin is the sixth biggest TV market in the US.  And A San Antonio team could go a long way to capturing the Latin market.

And every good Texan knows the joke about Sam Houston changing it’s name to Sam Houston Institute of Technology.   Get the joke right.

Did they really?  I remember watching a film years ago where a kid who didn't get into college created his own university online so his parents would think he got accepted into college and the name he chose was the South Harmon Institute of Technology.  So the acronym is the same.  I always thought they were Sam Houston State?  Can't be as bad as the University of North Texas making coffee mugs with 'C' handle in front of their acronym.

Pats defense has been absolutely ridiculous over the last 5 weeks. They have 15 sacks, 11 turnovers, 2 scores and giving up 10 ppg. Granted played against some bad offenses like Carolina with darnold, jets and browns down chubb/hunt. Falcons down Patterson and Ridley

I know.  Thanks.

After tonight he’ll fall behind that pace.  And he has 1 TD on the year.

I was told he was a matchup nightmare.  Seems to me, he’s just taking advantage of the targets because there is no one else to go to with the ball.

I feel like rookie tight ends almost always struggle to live up to the hype their rookie seasons. I know ditka in ‘61 holds the record at 1076. Which is shocking cause that’s 60 years ago now. Shockey is second and below 900 yards but he also did it early 2000s in a different passing league.

Are you talking about that TE/WR you didn't think was worth of a top 10, yet top 5 pick?

Matty Ice is done.  Cooked.  ATL should have went into rebuild mold (yeah, mold instead of mode, because ATL.  Assumed everyone would get the joke then reconsidered).  Instead they take a glorified TE at #4 before asking the NY VaGiants how taking a RB @#2 worked out for them.

Takes the pain out when we realize there are more stupid NFL owners/GMs than the 2 we have.

Well, a little bit.

If he doesn’t gain another yard he’s still on pace for 1,079 yards. He’s only averaging 6.8 targets per game, and averages 9.3 yards per target.

He’s really good.

They pulled a howie and restructured his contract. They could’ve gotten out of the deal after this year gaining a good amount of cap space and much less dead money. If they cut him pre June 1st it’s 40 mil in dead money and just 8 mil cap space. If they deal him pre June 1 it’s the same. If cut or traded post June 1st it’s 24.9 dead money and 23.8 cap savings. I’m doubting anyone is trading anything valuable for the falcons to take a 40 mil dead money bath. Maybe they do what the eagles did with jeffery but feels like atlanta is stuck with him through 2022. Even if they cut him offseason 2023 it’s 13 mil dead money and 28 mil savings.

Oh look josh Rosen threw a touchdown pass….. wait

He just turned 21 a month ago and is having a great rookie season. He is in no way struggling to live up to the hype.

Ummm with how people talked about him on this blog they thought he was going to be Justin Jefferson production. Additionally he’s on that pace in a 17 game season so an extra game he’s going to get. I’m not saying he’s playing bad or sucks but expectations on here was like he was going to be Jefferson like production in his rookie year

I’d argue with how people were talking about him on here the thought was he’d explode right off the bat and completely change an offense

not taking anything away from him but 45% of his production came in two games against the jets and dolphins. Had 282 yards and a td in those games. He was amazing in those two games. And showed glimpses of what he’s going to be. The other 8 games 353 yards. I think he eventually is great cause the talent is obviously there.

Until 1964, Texas A&M was all male and required enlisting in the Corp (ROTC).   Sam Houston was a teacher’s college and primarily women.  It is located in Huntsville, just up the road from College Station.  Well the "Good Ags” had a nickname for the location and the H was replaced with the handle of your mug.  The Sam Houston Institute of Technology joke was around when I was at A&M in 1974/75.  If you ever drive I45 by Huntsville, you can appreciate the giant statue of Sam Houston they put by the freeway.

( Fun trivia fact.  From East Tennessee where Sam Houston was from he went to Oklahoma where he was made a member of the Cherokee Nation.  He was a notorious drunk at that part of his life and the Cherokee referred to him as The Raven because his drunk stumbling reminded them of how a raven walks.  I chuckle that the team from Baltimore adopted that name.

I was one of his biggest defenders and was a part of a bunch of these conversations, and I remember it being the anti-Pitts crowd exaggerating the pro-Pitts side like you just did.

I don’t recall anyone suggesting he’d be Kelce right off the bat or put up Justin Jefferson numbers.

And don’t use the 17 game schedule to somehow diminish his nearly 1,100-yard pace. That’s a great rookie year for anyone, let alone a tight end who just turned 21 a month ago.

Again he’s not going to get to 1100 if he’s playing a 16 game season. He’d be on pace 1016 yards if he played a 16 game season like it has been. He’d be 84 yards short at his pace. Which is still good.

maybe not you there were definitely people on here that built him up like that. Would always talk about he could play WR and TE so he was thought he could put up that production his rookie year cause he could do both positions and create a mismatches in the red zone where he could dominate

again he has 635 yards on the year after 10 games. 282 came in two games against the jets and dolphins. That’s 45% of his production on the year and 141 yards average in those games. Meanwhile the other 8 games he’s got 353 yards. That’s 44 yards per game average. Not taking it away from him cause he dominated those two games.

i am not saying he’s going to suck or stinks now and i frankly think year two you likely see him reach his full potential. But there definitely was some going completely overboard about what he’d do if he came here as a rookie.

fyi i wasn’t an anti Pitts guy. I’d have taken Sewell if he fell to 6th and we stayed there (assuming chase wasn’t there). But there was definitely people on here making him out like he was going to take the league by storm. the other side was also exaggerating just like you said the anti pitts people were doing.

To be clear, you’re really trying to support your argument that he’s not living up to the hype based on…

* One or two people might have said something crazy about how good he’d be as a rookie.

* If you take away the just turned 21-year-old’s two monster games (out of the only 10 he’s played) his numbers aren’t good.

* He’d only be on a 1,016-yard pace if it were a 16-game season.

This is pretty weak.
