Someone has to play center when Kelce retires. I hope that is Linderbaum.

If you have Linderbaum at center and Driscoll at RG you'll be very light in the pants.

He is 290, and I bet he could be 310 if he needs to be. We are used to a "light" and mobile center, so we should be fine.

Not any lighter than Kelce and Driscoll.

You can thank Covid for that. As we now know we pay Goedert 3.7m next year, so even before we do the restructure dance there is plenty of cap and picks for next season.

Yeah...  Covid is why the Eagles lead the league in DEAD money this year.  $61M!

And are also leading the league for 2022... with over $22M dead already.

Covid can be used as an excuse for why the salary cap number is so low, but can't be used for how the cap figure was spent.

EDIT: Apologies... I double checked.  The Lions actually have $62M dead this year.

So glad we had the cap space available to bring in Ryan Kerrigan, Anthony Harris and Eric Wilson.

And Jordan Howard, and Steven Nelson.

Never worry about cap space with Howie.

That’s mostly Wentz. Nobody could have known he would crumble like that. If anything I am happy we got something for him when we had to get rid of that guy.

. Jordan Howard...   yes, Howie was able to afford Jordan Howard sitting on the PS for half the season.

Sure... the cap didn't handcuff the team in any way, shape, or form.  The Eagles made every move this off-season that they wanted to without any limitations.

Eagles have a lot of options going forward regarding that:

- Draft a new Center

- Move Isaac to Center and keep Driscoll at RG.

- Move Driscoll to Center and Isaac to RG.

But under no circumstances should they move Landon, him and Mailata need to anchor the left side in perpetuity.

Only just over half of it is Wentz.  So, without that, it's still $28+M dead.  That's not good.

Never been a huge Seumalo fan, especially not at center.

He’s good depth though.

Without Covid and Wentz not totally falling apart? Yeah, pretty much.

It’s all good though, took us only one season to fix it.

The good news is now we get to watch Howie draft again.  Hasn't been a Pro Bowler drafted on this roster since 2016... and he's gone now.  Before that was 2013, when it might have been Chip calling the shots.  Before that?  2012, under Reid.  I did a breakdown of all the Pro Bowlers drafted since 2017....  Every team has one, except the Eagles, Lions and Falcons.  Most have multiple, and not surprisingly, those that are in serious playoff contention every year over the last 4 seasons have the most.  The reason the Eagles fell off so bad, in addition to terrible free agent moves... terrible drafting.

Is that bad?

Like Howie continuing in his position and doing what's necessary to assure that continues? That may be job one.

He had like 30 picks and hit on half of them, that’s good drafting.

And that lazy "no pro bowlers” …

I bet Mailata, Goedert, Smith and Hurts will be soon enough. Maybe even Dickerson.

Not sure if its 'bad', but it is highly efficient.

:lol:He 'hit' on half of them?  You mean hit like Nate Gerry?  Is that a hit?  What about JJAW?  Hit?

28 picks from 2017 - 2020.  Of that group, the hits are: Mailata, Sweat, Goedert, Sanders, Maddox, Driscoll.

The good news is the 2021 draft looks to have some hits.  Smith, Dickerson (still an injury question mark), Gainwell (although his touches have strangely dropped off since Sanders went down).

If we just go by the 'premium' picks of the top 3 Rounds, he's had 10 of those.  How many 'hits' have there been?  Goedert, Sanders and ???.

Yes, I am not including Barnett as a hit, because he's been a liability more than an asset.  I think he has more PF penalties than sacks over his career.  But, even counting him, that puts Howie at a hit rate of 30% in the top 3 rounds.  That's not 'good drafting'.

Where is Hurts on the list?   Missing.  He's not proven he's a long term starting QB, and you don't draft backup QBs in Round 2.  That's beyond stupid drafting.

My only concern is his health... and it will remain a concern until he puts 2 consecutive seasons together without injury.  There was never any doubt he could play, only if he'd play.

Agreed. If he can though, that left side is going to be a force for the next decade.

True.  That's the hope.

Bad doesn’t begin to describe it.

Where’s the great defensive players??

Nobody ever doubted that this season was tight.  But it's been said that we don't even have enough space to sign our draft class this year.  And that we can't afford extensions for our players.

People just have no idea what they're talking about despite the cap info available on cap websites for fans.

You don't have to worry about it with Howie.
