Is that bad?

This was a discussion point last season as well when Nate Gerry was routinely getting abused in the pass game.  Over these 5 games the Eagles have allowed 107 total points — not terrible.  Only the Raiders scored 30+ points, although TB certainly could have.

A bad metric for sure, but I don’t think it’s killing them at this point.  Gerry needed to be upgraded from last season, and we'll see if upgrading from Singleton mid season gives an improvement going forward

Someone has to play center when Kelce retires. I hope that is Linderbaum.

An outside the box idea if Kelce hangs em' up. Baltimore FA Bradley Bozeman. One of the best young centers in the game. If not that than I do want to use a first or second day draft pick on another o-lineman regardless.

Has the promise of this year’s draft class changed anyone’s level of confidence in Howie? Even a little?

Need to see the details, but that seems high to me.

The Eagles lost money waiting to extend Maddox, and possibly Goedert as well.

At first blush, I’d have let him walk for that money.

Moore is making $8+ for Indy, he was a key player for Gannon.

So this would suggest Gannon sees Maddox in a similar range, b/c I doubt Howie negotiated this deal before talking with Gannon and asking him how he valued Maddox relative to other NCBs around the league.

Though until you see the details, the $22.5M is a ceiling, the actual cost is probably a bit less.

Sure... just like Howie didn't trade for a guy that the DC could never figure out how to use...

or a WR that the OC didn't see as valuable beyond what he already had.

Howie never does things without first consulting with the coaching staff... he's always in perfect lock step with them.

For the love of God, just don’t let him play outside CB again.  He has the speed and athleticism to play slot but his stature is too much of a mismatch in favor of bigger WR outside

Really confusing considering the number of CB they have brought in and continue to keep on the roster.

They traded for Josiah Scott, Kary Vincent and Tay Gowden.

Chachere is their best ST player and first CB off the bench and he was claimed.

I don’t care if they were only brought in for late round picks.  This is bad roster management.  They can’t keep them all. They are going to cut at least 2 guys they traded picks for.

It makes me less upset about him, but he still should have been blown out with the coaching staff and QB.  He is the one to blame, it comes with the office, the job title and the parking spot.

I put the mark at 3 years, $15M.  So this is a little rich for Maddox, IMO.   BUT... that's what Howie does.  He's very often found overvaluing his own players.

You mean a fastball pass rusher for a DC who liked fastball edge rushers off the bench (wide 9 special). Then Schwartz didn't know what to do with him. Doubtful Howie made that move without consulting Schwartz. Turns out Avery is a solid SLB who was playing out of position as a pass rush specialist.

And Golden Tate, a slot WR when Ahgolor was one of the fastest WRs on the team, but Pederson couldn't figure out how to use that speed, but Gruden could.

Sometimes coaches want a player, then when they get them, don't know how to use them.

That was all a negotiation ploy to low ball Maddox... and then he didn't low ball him.

That’s very interesting.  I know he’s graded out very well this season; didn’t realize he has responsibilities other than slot CB.

A bit too rich for Maddox but he has been really solid this year, and in reality it's about 1-2 million per year more than I would have liked.  Hardly back breaking.

That's a bargin imo. Good signing

Now do Barnett

I think he's gone. Imo next one on the list is Sanders. I'm sure plenty will disagree

Howie knows what he's doing.  He's a cap guru and his drafts have been decent-good.  People seem to forget that 60%+ of players drafted aren't even in the league after 5 years.  Howie's drafts since 2018 have at the VERY LEAST been well above average.  How many Eagles picks since 2018 are still in the league?  Well above 40%.

Eagles have a lot of options going forward regarding that:

- Draft a new Center

- Move Isaac to Center and keep Driscoll at RG.

- Move Driscoll to Center and Isaac to RG.

But under no circumstances should they move Landon, him and Mailata need to anchor the left side in perpetuity.

You're going to go nuts next year when they put Dillard at left tackle and move Mailata to right tackle to replace Lane Johnson, aren't you?

Yeah... Avery was such a great 'fastball', that the new DC has moved him to SLB, rather than pass rushing.

Yeah... Agholor... .   Agholor was really good in the slot in 2017.  So, let's not act like he wasn't producing in the slot.  And he replicated those numbers pretty closely in 2018.  BUT... the issue with Agholor has always been that when expectations rise, his production falls.  He's not a guy that teams can count on as a bigger contributor.
