I’d bet quite a bit the Eagles will use a first rounder on DL.  Barnett was the last one taken in the first 2 rounds in 2017; before that it was Cox in 2012 and Graham in 2010.  With Thibodeaux, Hutchinson, Karlaftis, Leal, Jordan Davis all top 20 prospects you can bet at least one of them will be Eagles after the draft.

Not taking a DL with one of three (potentially... fingers crossed) first round picks would be gross negligence. Not only is it a huge need, but will likely be BPA at one or more of the picks.

We have so many other desperate needs. I think it will be QB,LB (yes this is finally the year Howie concedes it's important) and a CB.

Do you watch much college football? Taysom Hill was one of the best passers in the nation. The problem was that he got hurt constantly.

The thought that they'd force a pick at LB when the DL is clearly the BPA is something that I can't imagine even Howie would do.   LB isn't just a Howie thing... the Eagles haven't seen the value in LB for decades.

I wouldn’t sign Will Levis as an UDFA.  I’d take Desmond Ridder over him, and I wouldn’t draft Ridder before the 4th round 

We’re fine at linebacker. We’ll address it day one of FA signing some ST only guy. Then Edwards will start the season as the 3 down LB, get benched for Bradley and he’ll be the guy going into 2023.

They had a pretty good group not too long ago with Bradham, Hicks and Kendricks.

They don't use 1st round picks on LBs but they spend a 2nd or 3rd on one every so often.

To play this scheme, we need very good LB play. We don't have a starting caliber MLB on the roster.

I just don't see Maddox as an impact player, nor does he bring any kind of intimidation factor to the back 7. Definitely not crazy about the move. But I guess he's decent and a steady player, so it's not all doom & gloom.

One of the firsts on DL, another one on secondary, then outside of RB, TE and special teams I'm fine with however they use the 3rd one. Including double dipping in DL/DB. Should be able to accomplish that while sticking to the board given then players available.

He was awful college player , awful , his mechanic matched his production , 58 Com %  , turnover machine , no production at all , his mechanic are no better as a pro , hence never named a starter full time . You may want to rewatch his games

He’s playing well, but it seems odd that they traded for two guys who project as slot corners (Scott and Vincent) and drafted another (McPhearson) who might project better there than on the outside. 

In the summer, I wondered if Maddox could be a surprise cut because of his cap number and the Scott trade.
