We know that any high functioning passing offense will score on this defense at will.

Their schedule plays out great for the defense too look like they have improved a ton in the second half of the season. But really it’s a byproduct of just pathetic stretch of QBs. Dak is the best QB they face the last 8 games. It’s a toss up for second best between bridgewater, Daniel jones and heinicke.

Hats off to the defense for doing what they are supposed to do against those QBs but it still doesn’t give me confidence heading into 2022. I want that week 18 meeting with Dallas to matter for both teams. I want to see how they look against Dallas offense and how much they improved from week 3

Cowboys board is melting right now lol. The train is coming off the tracks like it does every year in Jerry World.

Nope. It's like watching your roommate get a fake number from a hot girl at a bar. Feels great and everyone celebrates until reality hits.

The last few weeks are a mirage against flawed teams. They need a ton of changes still and need to pick as high as they can in every round of the draft.

They aren’t strictly playing the C2 any longer - that makes them better against the run and less predictable against the pass… about time really. They aren’t a good defense, but I think they’ve moved away from the historically bad level.

Dallas is sort of like the Sixers.  They are a good team.  They have talent.  Dak is good, not great.  Their weapons are good, not deadly.  The defense is improved.  Easily a playoff team.

And their nucleus just isn't good enough to truly compete for a title.

We are half a game out from being a playoff team.

Herbert had some nice runs on that drive

I’m curious to see if they go back to that when they face someone like Dak in week 18 with cooper, Gallup and lamb. It’s why that week 18 game i want to have significant meaning to the eagles and Dallas. i think is a good barometer of just how far the offense and defense has come since week 3.

No disrespect to Jalen Hurts but it's night and day watching him play and then Herbert.  Herbert is running when he needs to as well...no need to run a QB 18 times.  He makes damn impressive throws, goes through his reads but also makes lightning quick decisions.  He's good.

No, the Eagles are a half game out from getting the crap beat out of them in a playoff game. The playoffs mean nothing and isn't some big accomplishment. Winning a Super Bowl is and they aren't close to being on the same level as GB and others.

Isn’t the point to win games? There is no guarantee with draft picks. You get that guarantee by building a winning culture and sprinkling in good players. To not make the playoffs and rely on outside expectations to get there is insane to me. That’s why bad teams are bad teams regardless of who they bring in.

Being a half game out of the playoffs is more of an indictment on the NFL watering the post season down. We’re a full game behind being .500.

Yep. 16 out of 32 teams make the playoffs. You are right.

Id still like to see us make it. It's no fun to tune in and root for them to lose.

To an extent, you are correct, but the Eagles are also a 1/2 out of the 6th seed, as well as the 7th seed.

14.

Only upside is they might give hurts one more year and actually use the first rounders for players they need.

Yeah it is when they need major changes.

We can hope on that part.

Just draft and then move him to C whenever Kelce wants to go, but Kelce knows Eagles are in no rush.

Tyler locks down the RG then C position for a decade

Holy cow I'm sold!

Not for me. So agree to disagree I guess. Do I think Hurts is the long term answer? No. But id love him to prove me wrong. And I still won't root for them to lose. They are my team. Good or bad.

Yup - agreed. A meaningful play-in game for the playoffs in week 18 might be ideal.
