Herbert is 6'6 and it's 4th and inches and no QB sneak..

Yeah don’t understand going to ekeler in that situation. That’s a herbert sneak. But the chargers tend to be the chargers

they overcame it though.

Howard Mudd, were we even a ZBS team before he got here? Certainly, a stroke of luck for Kelce.

Seeing as Castillo was the O line coach when eagles went to super bowl in 2004 I'd say yes they were a super bowl team before mudd.

Kelce though was a perfect fit for Mudds zone scheme.

Wow this game is nuts. Reminds me of the browns chargers game a couple weeks back that was an offensive explosion.

Guess you can't count out Herbert

He’s been fantastic most of this game. Their defense has fallen off a cliff since earlier in the season. First four games 18.5 ppg. Since then 30.6 ppg (doesn’t include patriots pick 6).

Super bowl

Selected Porter as a S by the way.

Did you watch Justin Herbert play tonight?

The experience of drafting busts like Jones and Douglas, Mack Hollins instead of Tarik Cohen, settling for Donnel Pumphrey, and winning the Super Bowl 9 months later.

I was glad they made a run in 2019.  It was fun to watch.  That wasn't the reason why they missed out on Jefferson in the 2020 draft.  There are still good players when our turn comes up.  Just need a better GM.

No, you are right they could have drafted Jefferson and they need a new GM (part of why I wanted this season to be an epic failure so he had no place to hide).

If people think Hurts has been anything better than a below average passer, they're in denial

Just win, baby.

Our signature wins this season are against Trevor Siemian and the 0-9-1 Lions lol. We're not winning with this level of passing against any team that can actually score

Kelce with a 2 for 1 special. God I love this O-Line.

Yep

Gotta love having our O-Line be the bully on the block.

Siemien and the Saints without Kamara and either tackle is as daunting as Josh Allen and the Bills.

He's averaging 12 completions a game for the last month, but is fine as is and doesn't need to become more consistent or improve his passing.

At least, that's what I'm told.

People will flock to defend him saying they are 3-1 in that span. With the vaunted QB lineup of Goff, Bridgewater and Siemien being those 3 wins.

"Butbutbut, he doesn't pass against those guys! They don't play defence!"

Obviously, but what they ignore is that those guys can't operate an offense efficiently to even make it a game. The one guy that could was Herbert and wouldn't you know it? We lost that game.

This team has, in large, gotten their collective asses handed to them by good QBs. I don't have to post the stats, we all know this. The run game has been great, but if anyone doesn't realize this is fools gold, they're kidding themselves.

Will certainly be interesting to see what happens if we can continue to beat these basement dwellers and play in a playoff game.

I think most of us know what would happen.

Some random thoughts which I suppose you've already discussed but here goes anyway.

Howard - He's been super key in this little run.  He has the perfect style of just hitting the hole with a big body and running straight downfield to complement the shift bouncy Hurts.  Sanders is too much of a bouncy runner himself so not as complimentary.  I think we are going to need a healthy Howard to be able to continue this run over the next six games.

Mailata - We may have witnessed his move into the next level.  He's certainly in the "good" category now and continuing to move up.

Hurts - He's improving but it seems like he isn't going to reach the RWilson or KMurray level of passing ability and in my mind he'd need to get close to that if he is to move up into the franchise semi-elite guy we need.  We've seen a number of QBs over the years who been super runners and just very mediocre passers and they quickly reach an interesting level only to never move any further.  I'm holding out hope that Hurts is different.

Rushing Game - Fantastic to see the OL just destroy several NFL DLs in a row and yesterday one that is pretty darn good.  We can certainly ride this strategy into a Wild Card spot though no doubt it would end quickly there once we hit a team with a good O.  If we had say the Giants D of the late 80s we could ride it deep but unfortunately we don't have that.

Draft - Pretty clear to me we need to pick some studs on the D side of the ball.

Special Teams - Aside from Elliott we look really weak and seem like a heartbeat away from a disaster.  The coverage teams suck and our punt returning is horrible plus we are a hair away from getting a punt blocked.

DeVonta has outproduced Jamar Chase the past 3 weeks, Chase still has a hell of a head start, but Smitty is narrowing the gap some.

Now if Smitty had Burrow and Chase had Hurts, it would be a massacre.

Reager might be the only returner that opposing teams actively want to catch and return the ball instead of a kickoff touchback.

We can do so much better than him as the primary returner.

First of, this they beat up bad teams thing is silly. That’s not how it works in the NFL. You’re acting like the better team wins all the time and it’s not even close.

The biggest flaw in your "logic”?

You assume teams are what they are in week one and then stay the same.

But that’s not even remotely true. We have progressed as a team!

Tell you what: If we’d play the teams we lost to early now, those games would look very different. We have young rookie coaches with a QB that almost was a rookie. These things need some time. They just do.

Well if we line up Smith and Goedert there though…
