Oh there was.  I believe bacarty said he was a pro bowler because he had so many tackles.

well, thats bacarty.

I remember making a comment that it would be funny if he did based on his tackle numbers. And people took that seriously as though I was implying he should.

I would still use a pick on a QB , Corral is the only first round worthy for me

Levis and Jurkovec late rd 2

Zappe , Barriere and Haener late 3

you hit on one , great , you don’t , worse case you got a backup

I’m sure Howell , Strong , Willis will all go earlier than anyone on my list , not named Corral , I personally would not use a one on them .

Wouldn't everyone?

No.

People (trolls) are now arguing that:

It's better to continually rotate rookie contract QBs than to have a guy signed long term.

That you don't need to throw to win games.

That you don't need WRs.

That you can have 3 Hurts-esque QBs on the field and run option plays with Jordan Mailata.

Mailata showing his dancing bear routine in pass pro

"The Mailata moving company" LMAO

I love it.

I have often talked about "good feet” - the first play in the top clip. Shows what I mean. Mailata just glides.

Some Eagles points...

Yesterday showed me Jordan Howard is our guy and Miles Sanders is out change of pace.

The fumble, he ran out of bounds twice at the end of the game, and being behind the sticks(2nd and 10, 2nd and 12) just doesnt work for Hurts

Hurts isnt our guy, Loved the kid. good leader, but he cant throw/doesnt want to throw to the left side of the field(Derrick Zoolander) he's one read and wants to run and he doesnt have the zip/fastball to get the ball to some of those out throws. Now if he times it correctly i.e. chad pennington it works, but you cant depend on that

Trevor Siemen made this defense look a lot better then it was...

Sanders had the fumble, and out of bounds run. But he never put them behind the sticks. I dont know where this idea came from. Probably the usual trash heard on philly radio and spreads here. Sanders doesnt lose yardage.

Well we found our identity I guess. A run first team, that relies on the defense getting a few turnovers to then steamroll teams with a running game. Hurts can't just be separated out from the running success, he's a a large reason it's working so well. Of course the o-line play has been top notch, but LB's are freezing before Hurts hands off. Also, Hurts has been really good about holding the ball long enough to make the correct read on crashing DEs. He's done a great job leading the rushing attack. He also makes enough good throws to keep moving, and the biggest improvement for him has been protecting the football. It's not the ideal offense in the new age NFL, but goddamn it works, and I enjoy watching us steamroll teams. It's fun.

The reality is the defense likely isn't good enough against better passers, and we are not built at all to play from behind. But I'd love to make the playoffs, it's too much fun not to. Howie wasn't going to get fired after this year no matter what, unless we had like a Lions-esque season. So regardless of what we do now, he's here next year.

Mailata had that Runyan nastiness to him yesterday

A small issue with Sanders is he just looks a bit of synch - I don't think he is - but perception is reality.  He could play smarter, but he offers stuff that the other RBs can't.

As for the OL, you can justify the decision that Brooks should not come straight back in if the current 5 are playing as they have beern. They are playing as a unit at the moment, and I wouldn't want to  disturb that.

This is 90s Cowboys O-Line level of dominance.

LOL @ Dickerson pancaking Kelce.

How can Baldy do his O-line breakdown and not go over the 15 yard pancake of Davenport?

Yes besides the fumble that gifted the Saints a touchdown, and the "almost fumble" that would of gifted another touchdown, A 3rd of Miles Sanders carries are for 1 yard or less.

probably the ones where he is hit in the backfield and still manages to get past the LOS. Those are positive runs. He consistently falls forward and picks up positive yardage.

Jalen Hurts isn't a good enough passer to win a SB today.

The question is whether he can improve. He's already gotten better at this from year 1 to year 2. He's improved during the season. Give him year 3.

And if he fails, the 2023 QB draft class looks very promising (Stroud, Young, Jurkovec).

Three things that he definitely MUST improve on to ever sniff that SB level.  To be fair, this is still a work in process.

  • He really doesn't roll out in a traditional way.  It's more of a drift that results in holding that ball until  a) late throws or b) broken play runs or passes. Ant it always goes to the right.
  • There has to be more patience develop in the pocket.  Take the snap, hit the back foot, and deliver in rhythm, instead of happy feet, move up, run in a circle, drift, and deliver.
  • The running is getting to be too much.  That last TD run was awesome, BUT he is one trailing DE end away from being broken up from a blind hit.

Honestly, what we are seeing is a whole lot of the OU offense that thrived on broken plays and him outrunning the defense.  I am just not sure that it works in the NFL long term.  The best option we have to watch is Kyler Murray.

He does. It's in the "Mailata moving company" video I posted right after.

Eh Brooks if healthy is far better than Driscoll, and he, Lane and Kelce have played together long enough that I wouldn't worry about chemistry.

Sanders is alot like Hurts.  Sometimes, he just needs to hit the hole in rhythm versus "home running" on every play.  He absolutely adds a ton to this offense and I think he is a little rusty and will get it soon.

Sanders is weird. He has the most ability of all the RBs, but he does stuff that really hurts the team. Fumbling in the shadow of our goal posts, going out of bounds when we need to run clock, etc. And it's not a one game thing for him.

I was pushing that we should limit his carries to the 2nd half. Wear out teams with Howard/Scott/Hurts in the first, then let a fresh Miles swing for the fences. But, if he's gonna continue with those dumb mistakes, you can't do that in the 2nd half where he could swing momentum back to the other team, just like yesterday.

I'm not really sure what to do with the guy. But anybody that wants him back on a 2nd contract is batshit insane, IMO.

Just saw it.  Great videos to share.  I know people are down on Lane Johnson because of the ankle last year and his mental health issues this year but I see no reason why he can't be here another 4-5 years performing at a very high level.  JP hung on too long but he was also still a very good LT up until about 35 or so.  One difference between JP and Lane is that Lane is a lean athlete whereas JP seemed to get wider every year..

Is there anyway to have Kelce on the roster next year?  I know his contract makes it near impossible but he's still playing at a high level as well.  I know it's probably time to move on, there's no point in him sticking around for a rebuild he won't see the end of.  Just being selfish in having a potential HOF center still doing incredible things.

of course he does. Weird Howard is about 5% of 1 yard or less and Miles is around 33%.

But, i'm sure Miles Sanders never gets hit dancing in the back field, or gets hit waiting for a hole to open up.

It's not like it was on his scouting report in college, or him coming into the pros.

And even outside of THESE FACTS, the fumble and almost fumble are enough for me to sit him down for the rest of that game

Well,  they couldn't because he averaged over 6 yards per carry and Scott only averaged 2 yards per carry and put the team behind the sticks. Howard was hurt.  So Sanders pretty much saved the game when they started giving him carries again.

Yesterday he was far better at not dancing in the backfield. He ran straight ahead, between the tackles and didn't dance. The only time he started dancing was when he was out in space, and that's exactly what you want. But as I noted above, the fumble and OOB issue are big ones. He's a weird guy to figure out.

He's not a dancer in the backfield at all.  Never was.  He might run patiently waiting for a hole.  But he not a dancer. In the end of nothing opens he goes ahead and at least gets 1 or 2 rather than dancing,  and losing ground.

Kelce will make the pro-bowl this year, giving him 5 total. That's HOF consideration, but not a slam dunk.

If he can put in a year or two more and get to about 6-7 probowls, coupled with the SB ring, he becomes close to a lock.

I think he won't be able to pass on his chance at Canton.

Howie can work some shenanigans and work out his contract issues.

Well that's objectively not true. Never mind all the bishing in here about it, there's stats that support he's looking to hit home runs over taking what's there. I'm not sure why you're trying to die on this hill. Yesterday was a massive improvement for him in those terms.

Then you don't pay attention enough in here.  Because there was def some posters, around the Tampa game, that were saying how he was playing "solid" and could make the pro bowl because of the amount of tackles he was racking up.  I know there are other posters who remember it.

I'm pretty Ace_Nova was the one leading the Singletary for Pro Bowl charge.

That's a bargin imo. Good signing

I think it's good as long as he stays healthy.

Talking about the entire league, I find it comical how most of the talking heads are "This is a wild NFL season! We have no idea who's good week to week!"

Except....it's like this every single year. There's teams that surge out of the gate in Sept/Oct, and are declared headed for the Super Bowl. They inevitably falter in November, and the talking heads heads literally start spinning. Some of those teams regain their form in December and make deep runs. Some teams that start off ishy in Sept/Oct pick it up in November, only to fall apart in December. And some surge thru December into the playoffs. Every single year this happens.

The Chiefs are still the most dangerous team in the AFC. Every team in the league has fatal flaws, but when their offense is on, there's no other team I'd want to avoid than them. We'll see if they can maintain it thru December.
