Figured he was next up.  An RFA next season, IIRC.   Wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar move with Scott, if for no other reason than to piss off some of the folks in here. A deal with Singleton wouldn’t surprise me either.

Singleton has value as a special teamer.  I think Edwards' deal is fine.  It's not a lot of money.  Essentially it pays him like a top 30 ILB starting player.  I think that's a fair number given his play.

If this was any other team.. But Dallas? They’ll probably find a way to implode again.

would love for the Boys to make the playoffs, and be a 1st rd casualty.

No I was criticizing it too. So it was we. And there was more than the two of us criticizing it. It's ok to say he made a very poor throw on that play. He's not gonna hate you for life if you say that. It was a bad throw by Hurts, coupled with a great play and hustle by the defender. A better throw and Sanders could've cartwheeled into the end zone.

Don't hold him to ridiculously high standards like getting the ball to a wide open guy before the safety can cross the entire field to make a pbu.

Maybe Washington does  i really don’t see it though.  I tend to think Dallas will beat them in both games. Dallas has 3 losses. 2 on the road to KC who’s 7-4 and tampa who’s 6-3. The bad loss was the Broncos. I tend to think Dallas is going to beat down Washington, giants and Washington stretch. I would have said the Saints had a good shot if Alvin Kamara is playing and it wasn’t Trevor Siemian at quarterback. There’s a reason why the last three weeks in the fourth quarter Trevor Siemian has been down 18, 11 and 26. siemian is the quarterback you don’t want playing against Dallas’ defense because Dallas is opportunistic with turnovers and he is a turnover machine.

I’d also say the Cowboys defense was not the problem yesterday. They held the Chiefs to 19 points. The Raiders offense the last couple weeks has been bad. The giants held them to 16. The chiefs held them to 14. And the bengals held them to 13. I think Dallas has a better defense than all three of those teams. The raiders feel like a team that’s going to implode. I also see the saints going down that road. 3 of the next 4 games for the saints are bills, Dallas and Bucs and a game against the jets. The saints could be 6-8 in a couple weeks. They finish with Miami, Carolina and at atlanta. I don’t see them winning all 3 of those. Good chance they finish 8-9. 7-10 isn’t out of the question.

While I agree it's unlikely the Cowboys blow it....it's not a forgone conclusion. 9 points over the last two weeks against poor defenses doesn't bode well me thinks. It would be great to have week 17 (or is it 18 now?) come down to a divisional championship showdown.

Inexperience, just as any other young QB.   He uses the right side of the field as a crutch at this point in his career but that is something that with further development and comfort within the system will improve.  Beyond that he has all the tools and intangibles to be great.  He's a natural leader that guys play for.  He just needs to continue his path to development and he will only continue to get better and more polished as a passer.   He's only 23 years old so he has a long way to go before he even approaches his ceiling as a player.

One of his most impressive plays yesterday was one that didn't even count due to a penalty.  Down in the redzone he scrambled and bought time and was able to find Goedert in a tight window in the endzone.  That is the next step of his development that is only going to continue to improve the more he plays.  It's the dynamic danger of his arm and his legs to buy time to find guys to pass the ball to that makes players like Wilson, Dak, Mahomes & Allen so dangerous.

So his only weakness is inexperience?

I'm not buying that.  Doesn't seem that the Saints are so foolish as to make the right side of the field easier for Hurts to throw the ball to.  Just doesn't make sense.

They were lining Smith up on the left side dragging Latimore and Marcus Williams to that side.  Their LBs, PJ William, Malcolm Jenkins, Adebo, and Roby struggled with Goedert and everyone struggled with Smith.  Reagor had some plays where I just don’t think he gets it.  There was more on the right than the left yesterday. I will watch the All 22 to confirm.  I think Watkins did a great job as a decoy too.  No secret that Hurts likes the right side but that doesn’t mean they didn’t take what was available.

It wasn't a very poor throw.  He threw a pass 40 yards down the field while on the run that would have been completed if the safety didn't make an outstanding defensive play.

So many people here are choosing to die on the hill of trying to criticize Hurts for absolutely everything as he continues to improve and win.  It accomplishes nothing but make you all look all the more ridiculous in the end.

I mean I get being optimistic on Hurts and highlighting his positives. But you gotta acknowledge the misses too.

You know, if he didnt turn his back to his WRs for some inexplicable reason....he prob sees Sanders uncover much earlier, could set his feet in the pocket, and has an easy TD throw.

But I guess I'm just a hater.

EDIT - if you set that clip to Benny Hill music, it would be perfect.

Yeah, inexperience is the only thing that is limiting him.  For a second year QB that has limited playing time as a rookie he has been extremely promising.  The sky is the limit for him going forward.

You are.  Good that you finally admit it.

I mean, he is inexperienced in throwing the ball, which is totally understandable for starting QB....

See I think the only bad loss Dallas has this year is to Denver. And Denver isn’t a bad loss like some of the losses we’ve seen like Buffalo losing to the Jaguars. Or the Titans losing to the Jets and Texans. It’s a bad loss but it’s not anywhere close to that.

Losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in arrowhead 19 to 9 with your two best wide receivers not playing isn’t an implosion in my mind. Kansas City‘s defense the last four weeks has held their opponents to 12 points per game. Every team in the nfc has had weird losses. Gb got blown out 38-3 to the saints. Dallas lost to the broncos, Bucs lost to Washington, rams got blown out in all three of their losses. Arizona might be the only one of the contenders that doesn’t. But also lost to GB at home on a Thursday with GB down Adams and 10 other players.

Ok, it’s helpful to know where you are coming from in your opinion of him.  So you see him as the perfect qb.

Yawn. Every Year the same. They won’t win anything.

I disagree. Denver is not a good team, they had some wins early in the year over truly horrific teams. But losing 30-0 to them, at home, it doesn't really get too much worse IMO.

Really don’t see the cowboys going worse than 3-2 in that stretch. I also don’t see the raiders winning that game Thursday. yesterday they looked like they are on the verge of an implosion.   The one thing Vegas has going for them is that lamb and cooper might be out but the raiders run defense is bad. They are 4th worse in the league. So I’m guessing it’s a heavy dose of pollard and zeke.

Unlikely the cowpads have either Cooper or Lamb on Thursday.

And you decide what is objective? Or BLG does?

The fun part is we will all see him succeed, like it or not.

Sky is the limit for him, I can see it too.

Who the hell is BLG?

Go look at my posts, I'm one of the more optimistic posters in here. But it ain't all sunshine and rainbows. Hurts has serious flaws, just as every team has their own set of fatal flaws. I'm enjoying every second of us steam rolling teams, but that doesn't mean there's no room to criticize the guy.

IMO jordan howard should be in the conversation for an extension , playing great and is great 1 - 2 punch

I mean Dallas scored 43 last week against atlanta. And say whatever we want Kansas City over the last four weeks is only giving up 12 points per game. They were awful the first seven weeks of the season but the last four weeks they’ve been much better than what they were earlier in the year. I get it wasn’t against great competition but they weren’t even done that against that type of competition earlier in the year.

I still just don’t see the Eagles making up three games against the Cowboys with that schedule. Those teams are not good teams on their schedule. say whatever you want about the Broncos but they are a better team currently than the Saints with Trevor Siemian, the Raiders with the after effects of the Henry Ruggs incident and those three NFC east teams. I think they’ll probably lose to the Cardinals if Kyler Murray is playing that game.

i’m really hoping for that week 18 game to haveeaning for both teams so that we can get a good barometer of how far the eagles have come since week three where they got destroyed to where they are then

Lol I totally forgot they played Atlanta in between Denver and KC. My bad.

Again, I'm with you, I don't think the Eagles make up the ground, just fun to cheer for the Cowboys to fall apart again.

Question is if these flaws stem from inexperience or inability. I say it’s the former. And objectivity has nothing to do with either opinion.

Where did I say that?  I see him as a young promising developing QB who is improving.

Howard > Gainwell > Sanders > Scott

In my opinion.  Howard is a legit NFL back, Gainwell looks like a more polished Sanders and needs more snaps, Sanders is what he is and that is a very inconsistent back with talent, and Scott is a tryhard who will miss some big plays but wont make a ton of errors
