Andrew Thomas now has as many career receiving touchdowns as JJAW. And as many receptions as JJAW this year.

Yea but how many fumble recovery TD’s does he have?

Looking towards the playoffs, remarkable how tough the Rams schedule is.  Also, Vikings and Niners have some tough games.  All three play each other also.

It is very conceivable that we clinch week 17.

Also crazy is 8 of the 10 Vikings games have been decided on the last play of the game.

This is going to heavy rotation in here

hahaha no sound but I can't hear a gravelly voice with an accent

Watching some clips from the offensive line really is football porn. They’re an elite group when together and healthy. They batter defenses and even though I don’t think this team will ever take THE step until the quarterback can pass his way out of chaos and win games with his arm, it is fun to watch the line do their thing.

I’ve been critical of Sirianni but I give him credit for adjusting and finding a good formula these past four games.

I would love to have a great defense.  But this feels a lot like what I said in 2019 down the stretch with the Eagles offense. they were putting up points and productive but they were playing against these bad or mediocre teams. It was nice to see them do their job against those bad/mediocre teams. but you knew at the end of the day you it was more cause of opponent then the offense being really good. it was nice seeing the eagles defense play well but I’m really not impressed by siemian and an offense down their best weapon, down their second best weapon in Thomas, down their two starting tackles.

I want to see them do it against a good quarterback and good offense. They have yet to do that. And i don’t think it’s all Gannon’s fault. I think they lack talent at certain positions to be able to do everything he wants against better competition

As you step through the individual players on the Defense, which ones are your top targets for an upgrade, and which ones do you feel are solid?

DE 94 J.Sweat
DT 97 J.Hargrave
DT 91 F.Cox
DE 96 D.Barnett

MIKE 57 T.Edwards
WILL 52 D.Taylor
CB 3 S.Nelson
CB 2 D.Slay
Slot CB 29 A.Maddox

S 28 A.Harris
S 23 R.McLeod

Nelson, Harris and McLeod in the secondary

Avery/Johnson at LB, someone to push Taylor

Barnett. Graham will be back, and at worst will be a solid 2 down DE, Sweat should be a pass rush specialist, don't wear him down on run downs. So you need a bon fide starting RDE.

They also need more depth and athleticism on defense.

Barnett— think he’s gone. I liked the pick at the time. But wasn’t in favor of him coming back at the price on the 5th year option even if they managed to spread it out. I thought it was a mistake like when they brought back agholor on the 5th year.

*I actually think they need 2 DEs. One being a starter and the other depth. Imo i think Williams is a better DT that can at times play DE. Graham is going to come back but who knows what he is at his age and that type of injury. I think Jackson can be a solid backup in time.

Edwards/taylor— i like edwards but i think you could upgrade that position. Taylor has been coming on but he has been injured multiple times in just 2 years. I think you can use one as a starter but likely need an upgrade and the other becomes a solid backup.

harris— i think he is a stop gap type of S. They could use an upgrade.

mcleod— love what mcleod gave us a couple years ago. but could also replace him with a younger and more athletic safety. I hoped it would be wallace but really he hasn’t shown much. Epps has been better but i think he’s better suited to be a backup.

nelson— he is solid but i would love to get a younger corner with more upside and long term can eventually replace slay

** i also think they need depth at LB, Cb.  Additionally I’d love if they got a DT that could replace Cox down the road. I know they got Williams and hargrave but I’m not opposed if a DT falls and is there in the draft they took him

Names in the 2023 draft that can fix this:

In RD 1:  Leal/Karlaftis/Sanders/Lloyd/Elam/Davis/Gardner

Pick 3 (Or 2 in a trade down)

Wish we could get Hamilton or Hutchinson but seems unlikely now.

In RD 2: Ajabo/Cine/Brisker/Catalon

Pick 1 (Or 2 in a trade down scenario)

We can fix this in 2022.

Given the quality of our offensive line play, it's shocking to see Hurts still "happy feeting" his way into late and inaccurate throws.  Being a mobile QB is far different than being a running QB and he is yet to learn that.

The contract they gave Sweat doesnt say "pass rush specialist".

I was just thinking the other day how nice it is to have a somewhat healthy team.  Then Jordan and Taylor go down.

Way to go.  You jinxed us.

Upgrade…

Barnett: He’s gone. And we could use a second new DE for when we eventually move on from Graham.

Edwards: Even if he’s kept around long term, we need a better nickel or dime LB. He has improved in his zone drops, or maybe Sunday was just an aberration.

Taylor: He’s not at the point where we can trust him or his health.

Harris/McLeod: Old and losing effectiveness.

Nelson: We might not find an immediate upgrade, but we need his successor. Perhaps McPhearson plays down the stretch due to injury, but he hasn’t shown enough to feel confident he’s the guy.

The formerly banned Bucs troll said I was wrong but offered no retort when I said we need about 8-10 starters and most of them are on defense.

Safety

Safety

DE

DE

LB

LB

Possible DT (depending on what they do with Cox)

WR

Center

QB (but that’ll have to wait)

You won’t get all of them in the next draft.   But we need them.  I would like to go after a safety and WR in free agency.  I definitely don’t want to move Dickerson to center.  Didn’t want that when we drafted him and damn sure don’t want that now.

Safety's Jessie Bates and Marcus Williams are both free agents, as of now. I hope they can land one of them this off-season, getting one would be my priority. At WR Williams or Godwin would make a good pairing with Smith but seeing how Sutton and Patrick got paid, I guess these guys may be priced out. Christian Kirk would be a nice signing, would be a major upgrade at slot and returner. Crowder could be an under the radar cheaper slot signing too.
