I disagree when it comes to analyzing his play. I’m not analyzing the final score.

To some people, Foles was clutch against Atlanta because he threw it at Keanu Neal into a big Torrey Smith completion.

That was next level clutch.  He actually called that play in the huddle.

Jalen Hurts is 2-0 vs the Saints.  The Eagles as a franchise were 2-7 against the Sean Payton Saints prior to Jalen.

McNabb 1-2.

Garcia 0-1.

Vick 0-1.

Bradford 1-0.

Foles 0-2

Wentz 0-1.

Drew Brees is good.

Oh... you mean other teams' players might be a major variable in the process?

Then a proper analysis would be to look at his career numbers -- 2,846 passes with 53 INT for a 1.9 career INT rate

Folks can argue luck over a few games all they want, but analyzing the full body of work gives the proper picture.

He does a good job a lot breaking down each play and I definitely think Hurts is improving every week. I knew that already but this just confirms it. Jalen is basically a rookie QB and I am impressed with him getting better every week. I hope we roll with him next year and use all of our draft picks and money on upgrading other positions.

Bradford must be perfect too ... apparently

How is he not?

Because he played four games last year under a different coach with a different system with no offseason?

If you treat him like he played a full year where he went in as the starter with no coaching changes that‘s just silly. The man just turned 23!

Because he has had a full off-season as the starter.

Rookies get thrown into it after a hectic schedule that includes college, all star games, combine, pro days, draft, then their first pro camps.

Hurts did all that the season before and this year did none of that other than camp where he got all the starter Reps.

He's not a rookie.

Ehhh. I don’t really agree, which is my entire point.

Id like to know where you see him "Getting Better"?

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HurtJa00.htm

He is throwing less now and not 95% of the offense and honestly stats are not that much better completion %, TDs, yards per play, sacks etc. He looks better cause hes not throwing 100 times a game and not the featured offensive player anymore. But in all reality hes not getting better.

Happy Thanksgiving to all

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  I hope you all enjoy your turkey today.

Random factoid…Ben Franklin was strongly opposed to the eagle being the National bird and wanted it to be the turkey.  If he got his way…Ben being a Philly guy…it’s not a huge stretch to say that we could presently be fans of the Philadelphia Turkeys.

By definition.

I think people are forgetting in addition to the 5 games he played at QB last season (the GB game counts too), there was a package of plays designed for him so he was getting snaps on the field pretty much every game.  Yes, Doug's package of plays were pretty awful and consisted mostly of Hurts running into the interior of the line for 2 yards -- but he was active and getting snaps on an NFL field most of last season to see the speed of the game first-hand.

He's a first-year starting QB and he's made improvements in completion percentage, TD/INT ratio, etc. -- but to assert he's "basically a rookie" is being disingenuous.

Perhaps, but the Eagle was chosen by Bert Bell for its association with the New Deal... 1933... but then again, maybe the New Deal symbol would have been a turkey instead.

Of course, maybe Hoover wins with the updated slogan of... 2 cars in every garage and a turkey in every pot.

How does pointing out the fact that he's not a rookie do anything to downplay Hurts?

I guess even the looser interpretation will fall by the wayside this weekend (unless 17 games is now the threshold). Dunno, he’s on the cusp of 500 pass attempts - which gives you good idea about what a QB is.

I get it for free every year being a season ticket holder. Hmmmm..... maybe its not free then with how much I pay for my season tickets every year.

Every year I sign up for my free code but never open it once, lol.

Maybe I should do a free raffle each year for it on this EMB. 🙂 Make some fun out of it.

ive-just-had-the-greatest-idea-ever-rand

That would be a cool thing to do for the emb

Well, I think we should start a petition to get Hurts included in the ROTY voting.  It is such a slap in his face for him to be excluded from that.  It is so hate based.
