Yep... I know that the Eagles play the Giants, Jets and Washingteam in the next 5 games.  It really does say it all, doesn't it?

I'm still not sold on Jalen as a passer.  Time will tell.

But you play who you play.  If you aren't ready or not prepared for a game you will lose.  Look at Tennessee.  One of the best teams in the AFC and have lost to the Jets and Texans this year.

Here's an interesting thought. If hurts doesn't make it here and could go play with Tennessee would that be the best fit?

Hurts with Henry could be a hell of a duo and get hurts a decent tight end could be the best fit

Cleveland.  A lot of their fans want to dump Mayfield already

Or fools can stop pretending hurts has had anything close to a stellar rise

as soon as philly gets in a shootout with a team, it'll be ugly, hurts wont be able to pass them to a win,

No reason he can't be.  The offense with him physically over powers teams, they don't turn the ball over often, they control the clock and they score points.

The problem playoff time will be that this defense has shown it cannot keep good QBs from completing under 80% of their passes.

That was true, I hope they made some progress then.

And I hope for real nasty weather. Cold and windy might play into a run heavy scheme.

and talking about easy schedules, dallas, except for the AZ game, has an easy schedule too, just like philly, but philly's wont be easy like some think

I've said it before, we can't assume a 5-6 team will reel off 5 straight wins, even against competition worse than 5-6

I think they lose 1 against WFT, hard to believe they could lose this Sunday in NY -- but stranger things have happened.

The only team they would travel to that would be cold and windy would be Green Bay.  The other top seeds are all warm weather/domes.  Cardinals/Rams, Cowboys & Bucs.

Andy Hall is still a rookie because he hasn’t even played yet.

Because he has had a full off-season as the starter.

Rookies get thrown into it after a hectic schedule that includes college, all star games, combine, pro days, draft, then their first pro camps.

Hurts did all that the season before and this year did none of that other than camp where he got all the starter Reps.

He's not a rookie.

I'm holding strong on my thoughts that electing to not hold normal OTA's and mini camp has slowed their gelling and such considerably.   I know a lot of people on here think that classroom work is just as important as the on the field stuff but you just can't replicate reps for a young team with a brand new staff and a new starting quarterback.  I thought it was silly for them to not want to be here.

Titans have Tannehill under a large contract.  By the time that deal is up Henry will be washed.

I'd blame fried foods, I mean you know what they serve at the Texas State Fair.

And is this an admission that Houston is a southern city?

According to the (superb in my opinion) book American Nations, Houston definitely is a southern city.

Here's the map of the US based on migratory patterns over the years.  Dallas is an Appalachian city, Houston is a Deep South city, and San Antonio is an El Norte city.

Jalen set to get his ass handed to him if he does. He is not an NFL starting QB for a SB team. One of us will be right. We'll see.

Indeed we will see.  Why not wait until it actually plays out on the field rather than prejudging the outcome?  We get into a lot of trouble in life when we prejudge.

That's called settling and its for failures.

if you don't have the guy, you need to be constantly trying to find the one you can win a title with

I'm not sure I agree it is "settling," but for the sake of discussion let's accept that premise as valid.  The problem is that the number of QBs in the NFL who "you can win a title with" can be counted on the fingers of one hand ... possibly two hands.  Those QBs who "you can win a title with" are typically gone within the first five picks of any year's Draft.  So, unless you want the Eagles to follow the example of the Sixers and pursue a Process strategy, the Eagles are almost always going to be selecting long after those players are gone.  Every now and then a  Tom Brady comes along, but he is clearly an exception.  Lot's of people would like Dak Prescott to be a QB "you can win a title with," but in my opinion he isn't.

As a result the Eagles have to go to Plan B.  Some people call going to Plan B "settling."  I just call it strategic decision-making.

Very true.  I was thinking last night a comical scenario would be if the Eagles host DAL Week 18 at 10-6, then end up playing DAL again in the wildcard game 2 vs 7 (or at some point after) and beating them in the playoffs.

lions fans are loyal , 0-9-1 and they go nuts over a TD

Very true.  And Hurts better bring his best game.  It would be nice to see him pass like he did against Denver as well.

In that case, there can be only one opponent to be hoping for in the playoffs then... Green Bay.  The rest of the top 7 have zero chance of that...

Arizona - dome
Tampa - Florida (won't be cold)
Dallas - dome
LA - dome
Minnesota - dome
New Orleans - dome

Very true.  And these are division games, which are usually odd... especially with the Giants and Washingteam.
