I'm holding strong on my thoughts that electing to not hold normal OTA's and mini camp has slowed their gelling and such considerably.   I know a lot of people on here think that classroom work is just as important as the on the field stuff but you just can't replicate reps for a young team with a brand new staff and a new starting quarterback.  I thought it was silly for them to not want to be here.

Yup.... especially since the new starting quarterback is a rookie.

It‘s fun. Don‘t be boring please.

Talking about a glass half full is boring? While talking about a glass half empty is fun?  That is an interesting example of critical thinking.

With that said have a fun and happy Thanksgiving!

Very true.  I was thinking last night a comical scenario would be if the Eagles host DAL Week 18 at 10-6, then end up playing DAL again in the wildcard game 2 vs 7 (or at some point after) and beating them in the playoffs.

That would indeed be comical/fun ... and very satisfying.

In that case, there can be only one opponent to be hoping for in the playoffs then... Green Bay.  The rest of the top 7 have zero chance of that...

Arizona - dome
Tampa - Florida (won't be cold)
Dallas - dome
LA - dome
Minnesota - dome
New Orleans - dome

There is still hope the Cowboys collapse I guess.

Nah, I think the glass is pretty full. Meant the ‚lets not argue and wait‘ part. Arguing over opinions is half the fun in here.

Especially if you know you‘re right.. 😁

Wow... Jason Peters almost a full second early on the snap.

It's like Golf, with age you get a handicap

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

The All-22 is up but we're hosting and I'm cooking. I'll put good stuff up tomorrow.

3rd and 30 at midfield, why not try to take a shot down field for a TD or PI or even an interception that can work as a punt instead of running a draw?

Enjoy the day.    Looking forward to it.

Asking why the Lions do what the Lions do... that's like asking why water is wet.

Process matters a great deal to success.

Sometimes. Its a tool for some situations.

in the case of qbs i would argue the data sets are too small and variable to lend themselves to rigid analysis. Only as good as the assumptions that the process is built on

Lions D has played well over the last month , just can’t score

I'm not sure I agree it is "settling," but for the sake of discussion let's accept that premise as valid.  The problem is that the number of QBs in the NFL who "you can win a title with" can be counted on the fingers of one hand ... possibly two hands.  Those QBs who "you can win a title with" are typically gone within the first five picks of any year's Draft.  So, unless you want the Eagles to follow the example of the Sixers and pursue a Process strategy, the Eagles are almost always going to be selecting long after those players are gone.  Every now and then a  Tom Brady comes along, but he is clearly an exception.  Lot's of people would like Dak Prescott to be a QB "you can win a title with," but in my opinion he isn't.

As a result the Eagles have to go to Plan B.  Some people call going to Plan B "settling."  I just call it strategic decision-making.

JMO

I get that coaches and players are trying to win. I expect that.

where process needs to come in is consistent and iterative improvement in scouting both for drafting and free agents.

the GM has to keep the long view to balance it and Howie has failed miserably there since the sb win. Fatal conceit.

I am not convinced that Sirianni went to an expanded run game solely to take pressure off of Hurts.   I think he did it to help the OL, especially the interior OL, gel. I also think, because it was working, he may have done it as much to help the defense.  Running takes snaps away from the defense.

I think Sirianni was told by both Howie and Jeffery to throw almost all game solely to find out what Hurts can bring to the table in every possible situation. Jeffery said they want a passing offense for the future. Once Hurts showed what he can and can not do Howie and Jeffery knew Hurts was not the "passing" offense QB they wanted to build the future around and told Nick he can now take over and bring his offense to life.

Really makes sense. Lurie himself said they were not looking to fix this in year one and would take 2-3 years. What we are seeing now is Nick's offense. But now Howie and Jeffery know Hurts can not win with his arm when needed. I'd still expect a new QB in the near future.

This may upset the Squirts for Hurts clan but he is not the type of QB Lurie wants to build his future plans around.

i guess musical acts today have to lip sync to perform , why doesn't old goodell just make the musical shows a karaoke sign along

Dallas is missing a bunch of coaches and some good players. With a loss today and an Eagles win Sunday we are only 1.5 games back with a game against them.

Disagree on the bolded. At most this is some bastardized version of Nicks offense. He himself said during training camp "it’s no secret we want to work the RB’s in the passing game” something that never happens, ever.

You want him to throw to himself?
