September 13, 20214 yr Some thoughts Hurts seemed to play well today. Were there downfield shots to take and he didnt do it? Or did he just execute a short passing game plan beautifully? It remains to be seen in the weeks ahead whether this is a week to week gameplan thing. Or if Hurts cant see the field, or doesnt have the poise to stay in the pocket to let those longer routes develop. Will teams begin to sit on the short stuff and shut this offense down? Or can we start going over the top of them? With that said, and asked- If Hurts can look this well consistently and get these results there is no way we use any of those 1st round picks on a QB. It will be really exciting if we can go in to the draft and add 3 first round talents to the team that we saw today.

It's a great thing to play like that and not need the deep ball

My mind is blown because I swear Ive seen people credited with sacks on that situation before many times over the years. I must have believed it so strongly I created memories of events that never existed.

And if you can go over top if you need to. So... thats good to hear from Nick. I need to see it to really bolster my belief in Hurts. Thats the next step for me.

Only real limitations on the offense is the penalties. Tons of pre snap penalties. That’s understandable with a young coaching staff and starters who were limited in the preseason because of Lowie’s meddling. I love Nick's response to the penalties nothing ground breaking but, showed he gets it.

He yelled at one ref, "when you’re done I want to talk to you over here” or something to that effect. He said " you don't need talent to not make the mistakes that were made so there is no excuse it has to get cleaned up."

September 13, 20214 yr Just now, 4for4EaglesNest said: Oh yeah. That’s one of his lines. And was a point that was argued in here. Improving at things that require no talent. Which is the pre snap penalties and stuff. Yes, he is a rah rah guy but, reels it in when he needs to and gets down to business on things like that.
