Nope.  Your ignorance is showing.

I can’t remember did the cowboys always have a Thursday game after the thanksgiving game?

The Lions have had a Thanksgiving game going back to the 1930s... you cannot take it from them.

And if you choose not to watch, that's fine, but it's their game... always has been, always should be.

Me neither.  I've been patient.  He's regressing.  And that's hard to do for a guy thats never accomplished anything.

Thanksgiving games are watched regardless. Even if no one is paying attention it’s still on the TV in most households. Why put a game in that slot that would get a high viewer rating on a Sunday? The Lions/Bears game had way higher ratings today than it would on Sunday. If anything there could be an argument to take the Cowboys off and put a less desirable team in their slot. But I don’t want that either for myself. It keeps the interest in football on Thanksgiving.

Jones screws them again. I’ve never seen a guy go straight down on first contact as much as he does

Jeremy Maclin begs to differ.

At least he’s a WR, not a RB

No, because the Thursday night game is new.  THAT part should be changing... not the Thanksgiving day stuff.  Dallas always seems to play their one Thursdsy night game the week aftwr Thanksgiving.  Fortubately, they always seem to play a team that also played on Thanksgiving... as they do this year with the Saints.

Shut up you bitter old grouch. Take your pills, make yourself a Manhattan, and pass out

It’s good to see Dak still can’t throw on the move to his right.  Fundamental flaw he still hasn’t corrected.  At least I didn’t see him lifting his back leg on any throws today.

That irritates me more than the lions and cowboys being on thanksgiving. I’d also like people to get so offended by Dallas being called america’s team that we stop calling them that.

I’m not bitter, keep your head in the sand, truth is all I say, you’re a butt burglar also

Fair, but when you have a nickname " Self Tacklin' " it can't end well.

Would be cool if they did an Eagles Cowboys Thanksgiving game. I was at the last Eagles Thanksgiving game against the Cardinals. Was a really cool experience. Helps it was a blowout too.

Tough break.

Josh Allen isn’t that good

I don't think anyone could make the argument that Allen has looked better against the Saints than Hurts did last week.

Well, I guess some people on here could, but no rational people could.

A little history... Detroit has had a Thanksgiving since 1934, the year they moved to Detroit.  So literally, the Lions have played a game on Thanksgiving since their founding (with a few weird exceptions), and they did so to rousing success early in the history.   When the TV age of the NFL came around the league wanted to add a second host city to the lineup, and no team wanted to do it... except the Dallas Cowboys.  In 1966, the Cowboys accepted that and rode it to marketing success and was one of the things that led to the America's Team... helped along by the images of Landry and Starbach.

It would be horrible for the NFL to rip away generations of tradition from families who plan their Thanksgiving dinners around the games for those two cities, when they did it when no one else really wanted it.  Now it is a huge cash cow, and the NFL might be able to ring a few extra bucks out of the game by putting more premier matchups on during the afternoon (doubtful, honestly, as those families that put the game on will do so regardless of who is playing at 12:30 and 4:30... at least in this country), but it would be a huge slap in the face of those fan bases, and frankly, as much as I despise the Dallas Cowboys, I will defend them having the Thanksgiving game to the last.  Detroit fans have so little going for them in their sad history, to rip this one little light from them would be a travesty... and I'll be honest... if the NFL ever did change that, I might give up on the NFL for good, because they would be putting the almighty dollar ahead of the loyal fans.
