Thinking back to early in the game, it was nice to see our #2 CB targeted on a 3rd down and not give up the 1st. Big ups to Nelson. Not just that play, but wasnt out there getting torched all day like we are used to.

Yeah, I remember it. Slay's just funny as hell.

Condolences to @Desertbirds and @Dwide Schrude

A 0-17 and a 0-0-17 record is no longer possible.   Best of luck next season fellas.

I didn’t even think of that.  Yeah, that’s a good call.  He’s such an unlikable dude.  I have to imagine his act wearing thin.

From the rumors/reports I have seen, Rivera has less than zero interest in a Cam reunion.

Did Cam and Ron Rivera get along? Could see that reunion tomorrow.

Cam has no arm now. Doubt he's given a starting position anywhere

Thoughts on Hurts, starting with the negatives, ending with the good:

- Almost no pocket presence…nearly every pass was preceded by a scamper.  His lack of height and arm strength did seem to show.

- Never pushed the ball downfield against a soft defense.  Every single throw was a dink, with the exception of a beautiful touch pass to Smith and some misfires.

+ Fantastic bottom line, stat line.  Can’t complain about that.  No 50% bs this time around.

+ Excellent decision making, no mental mistakes.

+ Accurate underneath, did all that was asked of him.

+ Used his legs smartly primarily to generate passing opportunities…not to be a glorified running back.  Did a nice job of finding a play through the air in critical situations rather than just running.

Overall, he vastly exceeded expectations and had an objectively excellent game.  I’m still not a believer that he’s going to be the QB to deliver a title for this team…I just don’t think there’s enough ability as a passer there.  But today was a step in the right direction.

Slay looked so much better today than last year. Adding more zone coverage is going to help him.

Yup.  Didn't like him until Round 4 though.  Surprised he went in Round 3.

Drafted in 2nd a couple picks after Hurts, surprised at both picks.

Hey guys - long time!

Just watched the game. Can't really hope for much more than that. Hurts did so much well. WRs did great. Rookies all over the place looked good. Playcalling. Defense. Even special teams. Also, cops are looking for Mailata after he killed that dude.

He wouldn’t be given the position.  But guys will get hurt and he’ll find some playing time.

Rivera didn’t sign him for 2020.

Rivera also went off on unvaccinated players since he is immuno compromised due to cancer. Can’t see him bringing in unvaxxed Cam.

What if the league comes out and says they were just kidding that was a preseason game?

JP looks hurt

I actually forgot about that for minute. Yeah Rivera would definitely not be thrilled with Cam

That's right.

Yeah.  Even Jalen Reachor made some plays.   Then again he flashed in week 1 last year as well.

Meh, he got loose on a deep ball and that was about it.

He actually was involved for most of this game and ran some routes

Doesn't he always?

Is it too simplistic to credit Pitts' quiet day to Maddox? I wasn't watching closely but seemingly every catch Pitts did make, Maddox was blanketing him to make an immediate tackle. That's just when he was targeted. I didn't see who was covering him when he wasn't targeted.

No worries, he's an Australian diplomat, so he has...

(We'll find out how old some folks are with how they respond to this one.)

Yeah I didnt watch that closely enough to know how they handled Pitts all day, but Maddox did a good job when the ball came that way. And if anyone else covered him, the all kept him quiet.

Good game plan all around it seems. And well executed by the players.

Sad, Jason Peters didn't even make it through a half.

Didn't take long for Peters to get injured and end up in the blue tent

What made them think bringing him in was a viable solution?

He almost made it through an entire half. He’s going to be in terrible pain the rest of his life. I wish he would retire.

Are we talking Peters? I have no idea, that's just insanity bringing in a 40 yr old LT to protect your future because we all know Fields will play before season ends
