Not sure where that comes from. He's been a solid NFL starter for a few years now.  He had a couple hiccups early in his career, but the consensus is that he is no way a liability when he plays.  In fact, Kelce thinks he is underappreciated.

Also, what is a "good backup" anyway?  To me, it sounds like someone that could be a decent starter elsewhere if given the opportunity.

I dont think seumalo is a great starter (like brooks at his peak) but he is good solid starter. There’s a ton of teams around the league that would love to have him starting at guard for them. It stinks the last two years he’s gotten hurt. But he’s 28 (just turned 28 last month) so he has quite a few years left in him. If the eagles move on from brooks then maybe they have Driscoll stay at RG as stoutland loves Driscoll and Dickerson at LG. And seumalo is asked to shifted to center (once kelce retires) like a lot of scouts thought he’d be when he came out of Oregon state. Even if they don’t he is a good trade chip for a team that’s in need of a starting guard. Might not get a high draft pick but possibly a player back at a position of need.

I rather keep seumalo but just point out he has value around the league if the eagles wanted to go with Dickerson and Driscoll long term at the guard positions and didn’t think seumalo should move to center/go after a center when kelce retires as he’s still in his prime years and can start with a decent contract.

"Based on the look of the 2022 draft class, my guess would be that they won’t draft one with one of their three first-round picks, seeing as though Jalen Hurts has come along and may have a brighter future now than any of those guys.

"Could they trade for one? Absolutely. Owner Jeffrey Lurie is sufficiently consumed with getting the quarterback position righted post-Carson Wentz, and I think Roseman and his crew would at least investigate the idea of Deshaun Watson or Russell Wilson in the offseason, anyway."

Don't think Watson will be an option, but I think we all know there is a sense of inevitability when it comes to Lowie trading for Wilson.

What's the maximum price you'd be willing to stomach for Wilson? 2 firsts + change?

Good backup sounds like Hurts

Eagles 34, Giants 17

I've got both Barkley and Sanders on my fantasy squad, so I expect them to be non-factors.

Prediction: Hurts 4 passing TDs

For a 33 year-old QB who's success depends largely on mobility and has been hit a ton over his career, with a medical red flag for reconstruction of a finger on his throwing hand -- whose finger doesn't look right in 2 awful performances since returning from injury??

There has to be a higher bidder out there than the Eagles -- ie: someone dumber than Howie

No Wilson no Watson no Rodgers.  Roll with hurts another year and build up this defense to a dominate one.  Then, if hurts hasn’t progressed as a passer, we move on from him in the off-season next year.

I don’t think McPhearson is a step down from Nelson.  Would like to see him get some reps.   Barnett won’t be worth the cost but that creates a must fill hole because Tarron Jackson is not the answer.  Reagor looking like a potential bust at this point.  Epps is a third S and may get reps as a starter depending on if they go with rookies,.  Stoll is a good blocker but really hasn’t shown the ability to get open and catch the ball.  Jackson looks enticing but at this point both are still prospects.  If Seumalo isn’t set back, he is a better G than Driscoll   Questions at G and possibly C in the offseason.

If Herbig is back then the eagles have 4 guys that can play guard or center.

Seumalo, Herbig, Dickerson,Driscoll.

Russell Wilson for Hurts doesn't make sense. Other teams will trade 2 1sts for Wilson. For us, Hurts has been better than Wilson this year...so we're supposed to pay 2 1sts? Conversely, would Seattle really accept Hurts for Wilson? It's tough.

Watson always made the most sense on the field, but we shouldn't trade for him.

Russell Wilson to the Giants makes more sense; his wife would agree to go there, they have 2 high 1st round picks, and Daniel Jones is not going to be there.

Agreed. If there's one team willing to panic trade for Wilson, it's the Giants. I could see the Giants giving up 3 1sts or 2 1sts + 2nd for Wilson.

Wilson is used to not have a good OL, so it's the right fit.

I see Wilson ending up with the Steelers. I don’t know why it just seems to make sense

and I can see him and the hc working well together

Hard pass on both.  Not worth the cost in contract AND draft capital.  Just a terrible combination and instead of improving the defense and the rest of the roster to help buoy the QB... the QB would end up sinking the rest of the roster.

I’ve felt this way for a while that they are the biggest sleeper team involved for Wilson. They have the bears and their own pick which are both looking like top 10 at the moment. Seattle would likely get the best package for him. His wife wants to be in a market like that. Their oline being bad is what likely would prevent it from happening

Let's hope so.  They are more than a QB away... and losing those high picks will hurt them, especially as they lose cap flexibility with Wilson's cap number.

I think Hurts has earned the chance to start for us next year.  I also think our o-line is run first, and we will win a lot of games if they stay healthy. Mailata has looked better than Peters did the last couple years.  If we draft D, get 4 starters from this draft, we become a playoff contender for at least the next 5 years.  If things go our way, maybe even a superbowl contender.

I want nothing to do with Wilson or Watson. I don't think the gap between them and Hurts is big enough, if we're a run first offense and winning games this year, imagine this team with a top 5 d. It would be hard to beat us, there's a lot of talent on offense to score 20 points a night. It's been fun to watch the O-Line crush it the last couple games so maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.

I believe Russell Wilson is a lot better player than you guys are insinuating and probably has about 5-7 years of really strong play ahead of him. I don't particularly want to move on from Hurts (not that I am convinced he's the long term guy although I admit that he very well might be), but I think Wilson is a very attractive thought. Watson, on the other hand, I want no part of.

Wilson is great, but is starting to slip.   Most QBs do not age like Tom Brady.   Hurts will probably never be close to Wilson's best, but he could be much closer to current, aging Wilson next season.

One of those is likely the Kelce replacement at C or they draft one.  Seumalo is returning from a foot injury which can really impact a G.  Not yet sold on Driscoll as a starter.

I'm against WR in RD1, but WR in RD2 is fine. Pickens as a big-body WR that can actually move fits the bill.

And is coming off an injury...

Lincoln Riley chose LSU over the Eagles.
