The Lions were able to move the ball but made some key mistakes on offense that killed drives.  Goff also had a pick 6 that was really caused by pressure from the DE. It wasn’t exactly garbage time scores against backups.  I watched the replay and the game didn’t seem as lopsided as the score.  Deebo Samuel had a great game.  SF will be a challenge but the Eagles are a tougher matchup on the dline.

Admittedly didn’t watch and just saw highlights. Just looking at the score I would have figured it wasn’t against backups but more just San Fran going into prevent mode.

I only watched our game.  But some hot takes from looking at the scoreboard:

1.  At what point are GB fans allowed to be pissed at Rodgers?  His pouting and extra-curricular pursuits in the offseason led to a week 1 embarrassment.  (And I told you Winston would be an upgrade over late career Brees).  The Saints could be a factor in the NFC.

2. I think a tight week 1 win might be the stiffest competition the Chiefs see all year.  Last year's champs eeked out a win against a Dallas team that just isn't good.  I see no one for them to be afraid of.

3.  All I care about are the Eagles, but my wife and her family are Bills fans, so I like to see them do well.  I was concerned that team might not be for real.  Didn't watch the game, but I am confident in saying that Steelers team is a shell.  If the Bills can't beat them at home, they have problems.

Maybe, but when you already have earned 100+ million, just cash in on the interest and relax. Can’t imagine how his body at 39 feels the day after.

I’m just guessing but he probably wakes up and does this

Josh Allen looked a lot like 2018 and 2019 josh Allen. Had to be a concern that maybe he reverted back from 2020. I think 2020 with no fans and a pandemic was a weird year. I think Allen will be better but i would’ve let him play this year before giving him that extension. They had the fifth year option in their pocket. They might have paid a little more if he balled out again this year but it wasn’t like the Dak situation cause he was gonna be under contract next year in Buffalo.

If I'm the Packers GM, I'm wondering what I can pry from Dan Snyder right now for Rodgers.

I also think the niners when they got up 38-10 took their foot off the gas. It was 38-10 midway through the third. Then the lions made their run. Shanahan must have been having flashbacks to SB LI

You don't think the fans there can and should draw a line between a perennial SB contender getting blown out by a team that's supposed to be in a rebuild in week 1 and having their franchise QB drag the franchise through the mud about wanting to leave, all while hosting Jeopardy in the offseason?

Ive felt like the packers should’ve pillaged the Broncos for firsts and someone like jeudy. To me that offseason felt eerily similar to the whole TO fiasco where when you have that much dysfunction it’s going to boil over into the regular season. They looked like a team that knew rodgers really doesnt want to be there anymore and with no energy.

Three BG hit was another good one.

I expect by Tuesday morning, Shanahan will have figured out how to exploit the middle of our secondary.

Dumb move by Cleveland there....even though KC touched the ball 1st, not much to be gained there and if hs gained possession and lost it, TD KC.

Someone doesn't know the rules. And that someone wasn't the player on the Browns.

Interesting the Niners travelled cross country to play DET today and will have to do the same thing this coming week, travelling to the Linc; could actually give the Eagles a decent chance.

I still see SF as one of the 3-4 best teams in the NFC, though.  I might need to change my NFCCG prediction from SF-GB to SF-TB.  Packers looked dreadful today.

I like my super bowl prediction of chiefs and Rams more after week one.

Every time travel gets brought up, I feel like there isn’t much of an effect.

Didn’t impact the Cardinals today. But back to back trips might hold some water.

I think that makes sense.  I don't think 17-0 is completely outside of the realm of possibility for the Chiefs.

If Payton can bring efficiency to Winston's game, I could see the Saints pushing the Rams.

They also were down mostert (not surprising) after 3 plays. he might be back and sermon likely plays. If the eagles run defense is as bad as it was early the niners easily could score tds on those runs where the Falcons settled for fgs.

I’m wondering if the niners are staying on this side of the country since they are already in Detroit.

The Packers were dumb not to trade him this off-season. I can’t imagine that one bad loss will change things.

Without really examining their personnel groupings, I'm just speculating here...but I suspect our new DC is a bit more concerned with stopping the pass (over the run) than Schwartz was.  We were getting gashed on the ground and the adjustment to stack the box was likely coming...but our offense strung together some long drives, built a lead, forced the Falcons into more passing situations, and really allowed the D to keep doing their thing.

It might have been a different story without the offense pitching in there.

Same thing will go for the SF game.  If the offense can keep pace, Mostert may have a bit less opportunity.

I don't understand why so many people continue to hate on Wentz.  He was bad last year but so was the entire team as well as the coaching.  Not calling you out but you go to the Eagles twitter feed and you have Eagles beat writers still taking shots at Wentz.  IMO, he doesn't deserve the hate.  I think we should all be disappointed in how things played out but the outright hate towards him just blows my mind.

I really, really like this paragraph. I absolutely 100% feel the same way.

This is true...that was the ideal time to trade him.  The writing was on the wall that things weren't going to end well with Rodgers.  Now week 1 is that reality smacking them in the head.

I think the chiefs will get tripped up somewhere. Probably in the division. Chargers always play them well. I could see them losing one of those. However their first 5 weeks might be the toughest stretch they have. Games vs. browns and then at ravens is pretty tough. After that it’s not easy but vs. chargers, at eagles and vs. Buffalo.

i think if the Saints can prevent Jameis from making stupid mistakes they still have a very good defense and eventually get back Thomas. I tend to think the bucs, rams, Saints and potentially able to win the nfc. I’d say Green Bay but i really think the dysfunction of the offseason is going to effect them

The entire O-line played together today.

Only 2 RB's played.  There was no silly rotation with no rhyme or reason.  Sanders and Gainwell both played very well and they stuck with it.

The play calling was some of the best we've seen in a while.

Those 3 things alone would help out any quarterback.

Cause people want to be right and feel validated. Instead of seeing it for what it is. I watched that Colts game. Wentz wasn’t great. I thought the first half he looked really good though. They controlled time of possession. Their defense allowed the Seahawks to score 3 tds in 12 mins of possession. Second half it unraveled for the Colts offense. Davenport was atrocious at LT in the second half. Shockingly Nelson was also getting beat more often then I’ve seen him over the years. I don’t think his stamina is up to where it normally is. Not taking snaps besides a couple practices this week since beginning of training camp probably comes into play. Ditto with Kelly.

More shocking the right side of their line was not very good in the second half either run blocking or pass pro. I said on here watch their two point conversion. The Seahawks had 3 rushers at Carson as soon as he got the snap. The second half the entire Colts offense looked like they hadn’t played much together and gassed.  Also feels like they lack speed on the outside with Hilton out. Carson had some plays where he should’ve gotten rid of it sooner or he threw it so it could be deflected. I thought the only one who looked good throughout the game was Taylor and his numbers look pedestrian but he got what he could and fought for as much as he could.

I said the same thing to Iggle phan in the middle of the game. However i think the niners predicate a lot from the run game. That’s when Jimmy is at his best. And what makes kittle and deebo that much more dangerous.

not sure mostert plays. Left with a knee injury. They said it’s not acl. I think might be a Mcl sprain
