Not enough. The lack of middle of the field throws is easily the biggest problem on offense.

mac jones is a perfect reason not to jump early on a QB , pats let him just fall to them and he's out playing these other guys that can't find the field.

Agreed.

Speaking of TE, when does our secret weapon Tyree Jackson make a play?

Next preseason

Rasul Douglas is playing like a Pro Bowler tonight.

Maybe he should just stick to the right side.

Past few games. I didn't see last weeks game but it sounded like Packs entire secondary was owned

Bittersweet for sure.

Never thought he got a fair shake here.

did he give up that deep TD to obj

Hurts’ field vision sucks; this is known.  That hurts throws over the middle of the field.

What differentiates an intermediate middle of the field throw from a sideline throw when it comes to delivery of the throw?

A middle of the field throw usually involves some degree of traffic and is thrown on a line with some velocity.  Sideline throws might involve some loft and touch.

When your qb has both a noodle arm and never steps into his throws, the middle of the field is a dangerous place where defenders have a lot of opportunity to make a play on the ball.

I think so too, so CBs are playing the comeback and deep route, but not in-breakers.

Our offense functions best when our quarterback isn’t throwing the football.

The notion of building around said quarterback given the fact above…makes my head want to explode.

For those who want to continue with Hurts…honestly…what is your malfunction?  Do you not like the forward pass?  Do you have some belief that the future of the NFL lies in the running game with a hybrid rb/qb like 1990’s Kordell Stewart?  Do you like finishing in third place with an offense that tramples 2-3 teams per year on the ground while losing every single high scoring affair and having no shot on third and long or comeback situations?

Let’s stop arguing about Hurts and start arguing about exactly what you want from this offense.

Yup, I think today showed that the current offense as constructed isn't a consistent formula for winning.

I'm fairly confident that Siri didn't come in wanting to design a running offense centered around his running QB.

And it's been said more than once that Lurie wants a high flying passing offense, while I'm not a fan of throwing the ball 50 times a game and would want a more balanced approach sometimes in game circumstances lead to one needing to throw the ball to win and currently the eagles offense can't do that.

So what do I want from this offense, I guess minimal mistakes.

If one is going to have a run based offense than one cant afford to turn the ball over especially In the red zone.

I’m sure it’s someone else’s fault he didn’t get the ball,  probably Minshew’s for not being in the game.   Smith usually loves off target throws, and not being thrown too, it’s how he won the Heisman.

To make it all much worse on the 4th down throw that Reagor dropped Smith was wide wide wide open down the left side for an easy TD.  So wide open.  Ridiculously wide open.

Him and Goedert have been open a lot and Hurts doesn't see them or under/over throws them

Don't blame Lincoln Riley for going to USC.  Oklahoma isn't winning anything especially when they move to the SEC.  He has a much better chance of getting to the CFP going thru the Pac 12.

Georgia

Bama OK State

Michigan

Cincinnati

Our OL is built to be road graders.  They are road graders, most of them.  They are also athletic as well.  I recognize that with how the rules are today that it's a passing League, but I feel a strong run game still has value and can be effective and help your pass game.  When you have a lead you need to be able to run the ball and kill some clock, so you need to have the ability to run the ball.  I would like for us to have a fairly balanced O where we can both run and pass and keep the opposing D off guard.  We don't need a running QB to have both.  We need a QB who can see the whole field, can go through his progressions, can step up to the LoS and know where he is going with the ball, process quick enough to get the ball out on time, have pocket presence to just step up/slide forward/left/right, and have ample arm strength to make big time throws when called upon.  Bonus would be if he was mobile enough to have the ability to extend plays with his legs, whether buying time scrambling while keeping his eyes downfield for receiver to get open or taking off and picking up positive yards on the ground when his receiving options are covered.  Yeah, I know I'm asking a lot.  Ideally, that's what I'd like to see.

Here’s your silver lining

At least Hurts never did something THAT stupid

Hurts struggled the first half, awful play at half-time, bad interception in double coverage. But he also threw a lot of perfect passes that gave his WRs a chance, Watkins, nope, Reagor 3 times nope, Goedert nope. And what really stands out is on the 3rd down slants, where is the reliable Avant type WR who uses his body to gain position and has the hands to snatch the ball for a first down - which is why I hate the obsession with 40 times - a game like this shows the value of a clutch possession receiver. Teams are going to double Smith until someone else steps up. Funny thing, Sirianni calls these one read plays to help Hurts, but he looked better at the end of the game in the pocket, surveying the field. But even then, he needs pass blocking, the drive before died because Kelce and Dickerson missed pass blocks on consecutive plays.

The thing that stood out was mental toughness, driving the ball down field, Scott fumbles, driving the ball downfield, Goedert drop, Reagor drop, Reagor drop. Hurts made the throws with the game on the line that would have won the game. Even on a day he was struggling, Hurts made big plays when they counted, even that first half drive, two killer holding calls.

But that's life with a rebuilding team. The defense stopped the Giants except when it counted - because they lack the athletes to make plays. You can't blame Gannon when he doesn't have a dominant pass rusher, blitzer, safety . . .

Pathetic post - but quite predictable.

And a kneel down at the end of the half supposed to be a spike

I am fine with a strong run game so long as it sets up a play action passing game.

but you need a qb for that

I think they will for sure get a qb all this crying is for nothing we need these losses for the pick it is what it is
