Pretty sure there was a safety over the top so Hurts had to throw it by now. The problem that this picture isn’t showing is Hurts running around in a clean pocket again that all he had to do was step up in. By the time his eyes are downfield again I don’t think he could have hit Smith

Let’s also put aside the fact that he ended up hitting Reagor in the hands at the goal line.

Of all the things to kill Hurts about today, and there are plenty, this isn’t one of them.

Looks like it might not have been a TD... but definitely a first down and out of bounds.

Also would have to be tight on a rope. With the way Hurts throws it might have gotten Smith killed

Throwing on time has been an issue.

Rams, Vikings 49ers still are odds on favorites for Wildcard. Then Washington, then Eagles

The first two and maybe even the 49s wouldn't embarrass themselves in the playoffs. Us and the skins would.

My issue with this is that we’re not a QB away from winning anything, unless it’s someone that can carry an average team at best on his back.  How many of those guys are out there?

Going all in on someone that’s unproven or over the hill gains you nothing.  This team still needs to build it’s base.  I’ve been a champion of Hurts the last few weeks. He was awful today and the criticisms are generally valid.  In my opinion they’re also very short sighted.  We have a unique opportunity this off-season to fill in the gaps and I think it’ll ultimately be detrimental if we do not manage our assets wisely on positions of need.

One has nothing to do with the other.   Hurts is part of the gaps that need to be filled in on this team.   And when you have a hole at QB, that's a massive hole.  I agree with the idea of not paying crazy prices for a QB for next year, but the idea that Hurts is the long term answer is based much more on wishcasting than reality.   Hurts is a highly flawed QB.  If he's not a massive threat running the ball, he's powerless to move the team.

I disagree.   If we want to talk development he has to see Smith breaking open.  Much easier throw than the one to Reagor.

I'll say it again. Besides Hurts playing awful, why the hell are we targeting Reagor over Smith there? Why? Why? Why?

Hurts is the guy with the ball in his hands... ask him.   Can't figure out why with the game on the line he's not staring down his best WR.

I disagree... throwing to a more tightly covered receiver who is struggling rather than his top WR who was wide open... that's a failure to see the field and make the best decision with the ball.

Why would I ask a RB that? Oh wait.....

Well.... yes, there is that, but I've been reassured that his arm strength is not a problem.

It gains you an elite QB. Something they'll never compete for a SB without. The Eagles with Russell Wilson would not be far from Super Bowl caliber. The NFL has more parity than ever. If you can add a few pieces with Wilson to the current roster, they could beat anyone in the NFC.

Ok. Who else?  I’m not assuming that Wilson is viable.  If he is that’s worth exploring.  Again, there’s a handful of QBs worth pursuing but chances are, it’s not happening.

Sounds like a pretty serious injury for Driscoll

Yes it is. Targeting Reagor over Smith is just stupid. Reagor sucks. Smith doesn't.

At this point I would rather JJAW be in over Reagor. Yes I said it.

Watson. Not much else other than that. I don't know if it'll happen, but no one is better positioned than the Eagles with their draft capital. They have more than anyone.

Sure, but let’s be honest. This isn’t a discussion about development. This is a blood letting.

Sure, but considering how poorly he played, it’s silly to see so many people killing him on a play that should have won the game if Reagor weren’t a saboteur.

Never said he’s the long term answer.  My point is that this team in my eyes needs much than a QB.  Throwing picks at a QB will not stop our regression in other areas.  Unless it’s a Rodgers, Wilson or Brady level talent then this will still be an average team.  We could wind up sticking with Hurts in the short term, invest moderately at QB and get significantly younger and more talented elsewhere while continuing to seek the answer at QB.  That’s not a bad alternative.

This team is going to miss Kelce.

Lol. Stop. He threw to an open eligible receiver at the goal line. Regardless of who it is, it’s on the player to catch the ball.

I’m surprised to be saying this, but ever since getting back on the field Alex Singleton has been pretty good.

I wouldn’t kill him but it’s fair to critique. I’m not sure Reagor scores even if he caught it.

Maybe he doesn’t, but he’s down at the 1 and I’m confident we score.

Is it in the team’s best long term interest to move Dickerson to center?
