This team is going to miss Kelce.

Kelce is unique in what he can do and with out his skill the playbook shrinks as run plays that ask him to pull around and lead block are eliminated from the playbook.

I’m surprised to be saying this, but ever since getting back on the field Alex Singleton has been pretty good.

Yup he played well today, wasnt a liability In coverage.

The fellating of Hurts is just so mind numbing. I don't know if his attitude or where he was drafted has people foaming at the mouth to oversell this guy, but the amount of propaganda over him for the last couple weeks... man.

"He's the franchise going forward"

"This guy is elite, look at his numbers"

Every freaking time this team has to throw the ball the offense falls apart. Saw it last week vs the Saints. A short stretch there in the 4th quarter where the running game stalled and they had to pass and they couldn't move the ball. You can't win in the NFL when your QB can't run a passing offense. It just isn't going to work. But people are so in denial about where the Eagles are, any player that shows a modicum of success will be touted as the second coming. This city overrates our own so much. Simmons, Wentz, Hurts.

Use the picks and go out and get a damn stud QB in the offseason. The Eagles won't be relevant until they get one. All this stuff we're seeing this season is window dressing. It's irrelevant. Whether they win 6 games or 8 games, they aren't a contender, and people should desire better.

I posted a tweet last week.  Many fans like him because he's "cool and has "swag".  That's enough for them to latch on to him.

He seems to be playing with confidence, too. Maybe he was struggling with the system and overthinking earlier in the year.

Sounds like a pretty serious injury for Driscoll

The Davion Taylor on offense.  Two guys who could have significant roles on the team moving forward but continually are bitten by the injury bug.  Shame, the dropoff from Driscoll to Herbig was huge.

Flyers sucking it up too. Are there any competent Philly teams right now?

Sure, but let’s be honest. This isn’t a discussion about development. This is a blood letting.

Its about lack of development. And lack of  ability

Of course... it's hours after the game.  That's how it works.   Emotions remain high for 24 hours... then it levels off.  Some never come down, others do.

Sure, but considering how poorly he played, it’s silly to see so many people killing him on a play that should have won the game if Reagor weren’t a saboteur.

It could be argued that targeting Reagor there makes Hurts the saboteur.

Never said he’s the long term answer.  My point is that this team in my eyes needs much than a QB.  Throwing picks at a QB will not stop our regression in other areas.  Unless it’s a Rodgers, Wilson or Brady level talent then this will still be an average team.  We could wind up sticking with Hurts in the short term, invest moderately at QB and get significantly younger and more talented elsewhere while continuing to seek the answer at QB.  That’s not a bad alternative.

Sure.  And people complaining about Hurts are split... some want to spend like a sailor at port to get the quick fix QB, while others just want to be sure the team doesn't hitch their wagon long term to Hurts based on what we've seen.  Plenty of folks, including myself, don't see Hurts as the long term answer AND don't want to spend stupidly for an expensive, aging QB or a younger QB with a huge firestorm swirling around him.

Playing next to Edwards who is playing better than Wilson is helping... but both need to be upgraded.

I said this towards the beginning of the season, but sadly I still feel this way. The birds won’t be competitive until 2024. Hurts is not the long term answer and I don’t think any of the QBs are worth a high 1st round pick.

That leaves you with 2 options. Trade for a QB in the off-season (which I don’t want to do.), or keep the picks and draft a QB in 2023 with the hope the roster is built strong enough to be competitive the following season.

This all boils down to Howie and the position he has put the team in.

Maybe he doesn’t, but he’s down at the 1 and I’m confident we score.

Like we scored when he caught one at the 2 in the first half?

Maybe, I think not having Wilson next to him probably helps as well

Yup, Im not Interested in any if the vet qbs in FA or via trade and I'm not sure any if the qbs in this draft are worthy of a 1st round pick though a few will go in the first just because they are qbs.

Hopefully Howie stays away and builds the rest of the team instead and then explores his qb options in 2023

The first two and maybe even the 49s wouldn't embarrass themselves in the playoffs. Us and the skins would.

Washington has turned it around a little bit. Likely embarrass themselves but they beat the Bucs so gotta give them some credit

Guys. Don’t fall for Singleton. Again.

Hurts has a lot of believers.  Many in the media call him a franchise qb.  He may have some unexpected trade value if the narrative is just that the Eagles are fixated on a traditional locket qb.

There’s no reason besides wrong decisions going forward that they can’t be competitive sooner in today’s NFL. If you mean Super Bowl competitive, sure. But they should be able to compete for the division sooner.

Today was the first time this year, I was fully vested. (with the exception of the game I went to).    Built the day around the game.  Pre gamed.  BBQ’d.  Was fired up.  Then Jalen Hurts happened.  I’ll go back to not being vested in this team with that bum at QB.  I’ll record the games and fit them in when I’m not golfing or doing yard work.

I’ll caution everyone against having expectations.

Bruh we’re winning the division!

The best way I can describe my arguments against Hurts…

I don’t want him to fail. Imagine you are riding shotgun and navigating.  You tell the driver to turn on a street.  They insist on taking a different one.  You are pretty convinced you are headed in the wrong direction.  Every time you see something that looks wrong, you are going to point it out (often rudely) because you want to stop going in the wrong direction and get on the right path.  If you were wrong and the driver gets to your intended destination…you were wrong, eat some crow,  but great, we got there.   But you’re sure we are headed in the wrong direction.

Thanks for clarifying. All this time I thought you were pro-Hurts.

Between Hurts and Lamar there is no comparison, Lamar is in another galaxy
