I've seen Kingsbury tossed around a few times as potentially going back to college.....but why would he? He got his QB in Murray, he has his team playing as good as any in the league right now, it just doesn't make any sense for him to go back to college now. In 3-4 years, maybe....but not now.

If something crazy happens and Arizona wins the SB, Oklahoma could offer him a $2 mill per year raise, it’s not out of the question vs sucking in two years which the Cardinals will and never gets an NFL job again.  If he goes out on top, the NFL will always welcome him back and it’s not like he’s gonna crap the bed in Oklahoma.  It all depends on his ego.

This angle. Big oof.

That is so damning. Your #1 WR beat his guy and had a TD but you throw to the guy that's been struggling all game

He won’t. He’s got a good team and he doesn’t have to do recruiting in the current circus that is the NCAA. Plus the cardinals are set up to be competitive for the next couple years. I actually think Oklahoma would be smart to try and get Luke fickell out of Cincinnati.

If Fickell does leave he's better off going to LSU. He would be able to recruit better there. Oklahoma will be in the middle of the pack recruiting wise once they make the switch to the SEC

If Arizona wins the SB there is 0% chance Kingsbury leaves.

It seems he has a good thing going so I don't think he'd leave anyway.  I could see it if the Cardinals weren't very good and had a losing record.

I don’t think LSU is even going after fickell. I think they should but from what I’ve read aren’t. I’d take that Oklahoma job anyway if i were fickell. I think it’s a top 10 job in college football. It’s pretty amazing lsu, Oklahoma and usc all opened up this year. Heck add Florida to the mix.

disagree. He walks into 7 or 8 wins each year. He has a better facility than 95% of the schools out there. He's not dealing with salaried players and there agent demands.

Sure he's gotta recruit and play 3 big games a year, but thats it.

Theres a reason why great college coaches struggle in the pros.

7-8 wins a year at OU gets you fired with that team's expectations and fanbase. I live in Phoenix. The Cardinals have a good fanbase but they're not as demanding and ravenous as OU. He can take the Cardinals to the playoffs the next couple years and dump out in the first or second round and still be safe with his job. If he takes them to the NFC Title game this year, his job is safe for the next five years assuming they don't collapse and turn into a 4-win team.

It's still early. Let's see what happens. I'm just glad to have Riley.

No they won't.  I would bet money on that.  He'd go back to TV before he got a real coaching gig.

I'll take that bet.  One of the best things a college coach can do is relate to his players.  The best thing Deion does is relate.  Guys are going to want to play for him.  He's been a head coach there for 2 years and has them undefeated in their conference and 10-1 overall.  Jackson State was trash before he got there.  Love him or hate him, Deion has the IT factor.  He cares about the kids that plays for him.

I can see him wanting to coach at FSU and bring them back to prominence.  Not sure Norvell is the guy to do that.

Sanders might very well end up with one of these openings

He might have to wait a year for that FSU job to open. I agree with you on Norvell not being the guy

There is no chance.  He's a clown show.

What makes you say that?   I'm telling you, 18 year old kids are going to want to play for him.  He's turned a trash program around in 2 years.

Didn't the number 1 recruit just commit to Jackson St? I believe so

Minshew isn't the answer to anything...  "play the other guy" has been around as long as the NFL...

Plus, and I would guarantee this so strongly that I almost hope they do play Minshew so I can be proven right...  you take Hurts out, and the ground game won't look remotely as good as it has...  he may be ineffective in the pocket, stare down receivers, etc, etc... but he makes the entire running game go with the D having to pay so much attention to him...

Likely the running game might not be as good but the passing game would probably improve.

Not sure about that but a quick search shows he has two 4 star players, a QB and a CB who have signed and three 4 star hard commits.

If you can land five 4 star recruits at an FCS school that's unheard of.

He has transfers from Tennessee, Florida, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Auburn, USC, Missouri, Florida State, Mississippi State among other FBS schools.

Guys want to play for him, bottom line.

He was fired by TT, then he took the USC OC job, and a week later he takes the Arizona job. If Oklahoma offers him $8 mill vs the $5.5 Arizona is paying, unless they give him him a raise, he’ll take the $8 and walk to Oklahoma.

It’s huge for the pac 12 as well. Cause they really could use usc being usc.

I believe Travis Hunter just committed and he's the number 1 recruit. He's done a good job

Edit: He visited but I don't think he's committed yet

I think the OL can be just as effective opening holes for the Running backs with Minshew as they are with Hurts... but it would be different.  Stoutland would figure it out... he's got the horses (well, minus Herbig) to get it done.  He won't be able to run into heavy boxes with impunity like they did recently with Hurts... but would still have a very effective running game.

In 2017, the running game was just fine without the QB needing to run the ball.  Granted, they had all 5 OL with career years (including Wis, though he never achieved All-Pro status).  They would be just fine opening holes with Mailata and Dickerson on the left... and Kelce in the middle.   Herbig is good enough to not be a massive issue at RG, and Johnson is back to playing very well.  They'd open holes, just not as gaping.  AND... the QB might actually be able to use the middle of the field vacated by the LBs who bite on play action a bit more.

I don't see Minshew as the long term answer, but I do see him as a viable option to improve the offense and make it far less one dimensional.  With Hurts... if the one dimension they have gets shut down, or they choose not to use it... the offense is stagnant and that has not changed all season.
