But I did not think he was actually going to develop in to a starter. I mean hell I think a good result would have been just a decent back up. "Upset" is not the right term for me. I just thought it was an odd pick at the time. Certainly, it looks like it will pay off and may be the steal of any draft ever.

If little damage was done, he could be back in a few weeks or out for the season. I thought Hurts played like he had been coached yesterday. Yes., he had bailed from the pocket too quickly at times, but didn't look lost or phased by the game where at times last year he did. Send Flacco right back down 95 for a 2nd round pick! And offer up Dillard to the Bears for a 3rd rounder! Let's load up for next years draft!!!

Baltimore needs and wants to run the ball to be effective. They have brought in like 4 new running backs this past week because of the injuries. With both teams losing yesterday, for draft picks sake, we should be routing for the Colts to beat Miami so I hope you're right.

True, but he gestured for Gainwell to block for him. He made good yardage and would have made more if Gainwell had managed the block. My point is he saw his receiver and chose to run. It’s not like he missed him.

I think sending Dillard to the Bears makes sense but seeing as they don't have their 1st or 4th round picks from the Fields trade, I highly doubt they would be that fast to move more picks. If the Bears want Dillard, they most likely would be looking to send a player for him. I'd honestly see if they are willing to let go of Roquan Smith.

September 13, 20214 yr Week 1 caveat and yadayadayada.... The Giants look like trash. How are you gonna assemble a WR corps like that and only put up 13 points at home? Daniel Jones with more reckless turnovers. Feeling right now? Their O/U is 5.5 IMO

Then lock Smith up. Use 75% of picks next years on DE and DB's. Defense would be set.

I look at the Lions as a both 5... maybe bottom 3 team Honestly, there was a whole lot of teams playing no defense yesterday (not us). The NFL has legislated tough defense out and these WRs run wide open all over the place. That's why 70%+ completion is the new standard.

WTF was the smart pick to win the division, IMO…but their complete lack of a qb will make every single game a challenge for them. Even if Dak is the king of 400 yards and an L, I still take Dallas over them. Our performance against SF will be a good preview of how easily we can handle WTF. If that goes well, I’d say it makes the division closer to a 2 horse race between us and Dallas. If it doesn’t, then we probably won’t match up great against WTF either. I haven't gone back and watched the Giants game. I watched the WFT. They have a great defense. On offense, the 2 biggest questions beyond QB are the coaching and o-line talent. It's difficult to know how good their oline is because the Chargers probably have the best defensive front in the League besides WFT. The Chargers pretty well shut them down aside from a few big plays. WFT longest drive was 8 plays and 81 yards. 58 yards of the drive came on 2 plays (a catch by McLaurin and a Heineke scramble) They have 3 above average to very good skill positions in McLaurin, Gibson and Thomas. Everyone talks about passing on DK but McLaurin may end up being the better receiver that the Eagles passed on to take JJAW. The coaches passed up an opportunity to go for it on a 4th and 7 from the Chargers 40 in the 4th quarter when they were down by 5 pts. There was almost 7 minutes left in the 4th but the Chargers responded with a 16 play clock killing drive mostly by passing downfield which may speak to the lack of depth on the d-line. I could see WFT splitting games with the Cowboys. It's hard to see them as anything but mediocre given their QB situation. Still WFT's defense is good enough to create some difference making plays to shorten WFT's field. The Cowboys defense is bad enough that even with mediocre QB play they have enough to move the ball and score. I think the Cowboys are in for a challenge next week against the Chargers. They could be 0-2 heading into the Eagles game. I am not sure how good our defense is but Gannon really had the unit just shutting down the Falcons. I don't think we can hope for that kind of performance against SF but I do think he's more committed to putting DBs in better positions. If they can limit big plays against SF, then that would be very encouraging for the rest of the season.

September 13, 20214 yr I'm not scared of the 49ers at all, but I do think they're a great early season test for both sides of the ball. How will Mailata look against Nick Bosa? How will Hurts look when a team doesn't let him break outside the pocket as easily? Will the other young guys who flashed against ATL (Devonta, Reagor, Sweat, Gainwell, even Quez) continue to flash against better competition? Is a Hargrave breakout for real? How will Gannon's bend don't break approach in the run game handle probably the best run scheme in the NFL?

September 13, 20214 yr It will be interesting to track this WR class. Chase- 5 catches, 101 yards 1 TD Waddle- 4 catches, 61 yards 1 TD Smith- 6 catches, 71 yards 1 TD Toney- 2 catches, - 2 yards

I call what the lions did yesterday a Detroit special cause it’s some of the same crap they continuously pulled for years with Stafford. They get down by a lot. The other team takes its foot off the gas thinking it’s over and they make a comeback that falls just short. They got down 38-10 with 7 mins to go in the third quarter. Then they make a comeback where they recover an onside kick and then have a shot to tie it late but still wind up losing. That would happen a lot with Stafford on the lions.

Darrisaw was staring them straight in the face and they badly needed oline help. They decided to be morons and take a wr even though they had golladay, Shepard and slayton. This was more of gettleman just being a moron. That said their saving grace is Daniel jones sucks and at least they’ll have their own high pick as well as the bears high first round pick to go get a QB next year.
