I would still love to see our middle pick get traded back to the mid 20s, similar to the Giants/Bears deal. Move back 10 spots, get a 3rd or 4th this year + 1st next year.

This is my preference as well. Trade down with one of the picks for 2023 capital to keep the QB options open.

I told @LeanMeanGM  my bold prediction was the wind effecting the game.

Watching every one of Jalen Hurt's throws get caught up in the wind and almost interception(or intercepted) definatly changed the game.

On the final drive alone, the Out to Geodert was broken up cause it was a long throw. then the drop to Reagor felt like it was in the air for 50 yards and it was only a 30 yard pass.

I looked up 2 different weather sites before the game and wind was only 3 mph. Hurts just sucked, I don’t think wind had a big factor in it

also acceptable lol

But hey! 3MPH is a lot when you throw like a 4th grader.

C'mon man......

People overthinking everything again.

Minshew is a backup QB, we're talking a Detmer type, he can run the offense for a few games, but will eventually be exposed. He has limited upside, lacks either the athleticism or the arm to be special, and isn't point point accurate. There's a reason no one offered more than a 6th rd pick.

What this offense needs, regardless of the QB down the road, is a reliable possession WR. Smith and Watkins have more than enough speed to keep defenses honest, but they lack the guy who can beat press coverage on those 3rd down slants when the refs are swallowing their whistles. You don't need a 1st rd pick to get this guy, but you might want to saturate bomb it (2nd/3rd rd, middle rd, a couple UDFAs). That 6'1/6'2 210 lb WR with great hands, good routes, enough quickness to beat a CB on the first step, doesn't matter if he runs a 4.6 40, see Landry.

Time to write off Reagor, you can only give a player so many chances, then it's time to move on.

With all of Hurts' struggles, if Herbig could just avoid those two holds, Eagles up 7-3 at the half, and get the ball back to start the second half.

If Scott doesn't fumble, they were driving with 3 timeouts, could have run the ball down the Giants throats and scored with 30 second left.

I can't believe that you or anyone else believes any of this nonsense.

Afan blamed the defense for "not getting a stop when it mattered" against the Giants. Safe to say he's gone full troll.

Dane Brugler, the best draft analyst, has us taking Kyle Hamiton, George Karlaftis and Nakobe Dean.
Would be thrilled.

Would fill 3 needs on defense, though Dean at only about 210 pounds scares me a bit.

Assuming eagles go ahead with Davian Taylor pairing him with Dean would have two smaller LBs on the field at the same time,

If one wants to pair him with Edwards then what to do with Davian Taylor.

Rarely are 3 LBs on the field at the same time.

Now if Dean could put on some weight and not lose his speed then maybe but at 5'11" 210 pounds that's a worry at LB.

One thing flying under the radar, a lot of discussion during the summer and early season about Russ Wilson to the Eagles after this year.  Now Wilson has been hurt, and is lowering his trade value with every bad start since his return from injury.  At this point, you may as well pencil him in as the 2022 starting QB for the Eagles.

Interesting quote:

There are plenty of first-round-caliber players, and the depth at certain positions will stretch well into Day 3 on draft weekend. However, something that has been echoed by evaluators around the NFL is the lack of elite-level talent at the top.

Since we're gonna have 3 1sts in the 11-20 range or so, lack of elite players at the top is not an issue for the Eagles.

However, maybe 3 5ths will have extra value in this draft (the depth is due to COVID and players staying - these are the late bloomers and role players who won't strengthen the top of the draft but provide more NFL ready players on the 3rd day). Kind of draft to look at picking up extra picks and building depth along your roster if you're a rebuilding team.

I really don't care where we pick, how many players we end up picking, etc. Just get the damn picks we do make right. Last year's draft looks good so far, but lots of unknowns still. We need to come away with 3 starters on defense, one at each level. That to me is non-negotiable. We need some o-line depth (as always), and we probably need one more offensive skill player, either a legitimate RB who can handle a full workload, or another WR to complement Smith/Quez/Goedert. So I'm looking for 4 solid starters, with a 5th player being a big contributor. We have a fantastic amount of assets, and really need to hit this draft to setup future success.

I'm certainly not opposed to trading one of our firsts for perhaps a lower first this year and picking up a 2nd/1st next year, but again....just get the damn pick right. Don't try to be cute, don't try and outsmart the room, just take the BPA at our position of need, which is many. It's not really complicated....except for one major obstacle.........Lowie.

hmmm all defense? I know we need defensive help, but our number 1 priority has to be a QB. And yes if there is none good enough to draft, I swing for the fences - Rodgers, Wilson, Watson etc....  We go nowhere without a franchise QB.

Our number 1 priority may need to be QB but the draft doesn't look great for QBs. And Absolutely no way we should swing for Rodgers, Wilson or Watson. No way no how.

Yep, this. There's no obvious QB to take in the draft, unless we trade down in the first and Pickett falls, I'd be OK with that. But otherwise, our defense has basically been crawling through a desert for years, without any water in site. We may have finally found an oasis in this draft, as it seems there's a lot of defensive talent available, especially in the 1st, where we have the most capital. It just makes too much sense.

All of these QBs control their next destination, Wilson and Watson have full no-trade clauses and Rodgers has enough clout to dictate a list of teams even without one.  Wilson and Watson have specifically named teams they'll waive their no-trade clause to -- the Eagles are NOT on the list.  I would seriously doubt Rodgers has any interest in the Eagles, and he might be the last player in the NFL I'd want on my team.

Wilson is almost surely going to the Giants.  Watson is almost surely going to MIA.  Rodgers, who knows -- but almost surely not to Philly.

Get used to names like Jimmy G and Derek Carr if you're looking for a veteran QB.  The Eagles might be back to 2014 with a Sam Bradford/Chase Daniel type of QB room.

would be better if we lost out. We could get at least one pick in fornt of the Giants.

You'd get Rodgers, Wilson, or Watson and still have a terrible defense.

They are in a terrible situation and probably the best long term solution is to sit out of the QB race this year and draft/trade for one next offseason. Unless Carson Strong or even Sam Howell drop to the back half of the 2nd or 3rd round, there really isn't any QB i'd spend a high pick on.

Howie will take an OL a WR and a QB with those 3 first round picks not in any order.

Hell get around to drafting defense by round 4 by taking a couple midget speed ball DEs a LB no one has ever heard of and a safety that runs a 4.8 40 but has a 4.0 GPA and finally draft two midget nickel corners.

Defense fixed😒

His entire post is basically a preemptive strike for when Howie blows it as usual on draft day.

I disagree. When you dont have a franchise QB, it doesn't matter what the rest of the team is like, you are just wasting time. EVeryone always says they dont like this QB draft class, and we should wait till 2023 draft.

The problem with that thinking is: We dont know what that class will be like, and we dont know if we will be in a position to draft a good QB if there is one in 2023. And if we are not in position to draft them in 2023, then what? Will any QB's the likes of Rodgers, Wilson or Watson even be avail in 2023?   Was any avail last year? Not likely.

You need to swing when the ball is hitable, not when it is not. The opportunity to land a known franchise QB is now.

Rogers, Wilson, and Watson are not going to want to come to a team that is rebuilding. Especially one where they give the GM so much control and power. These guys are going to want to have some input on the roster.

Dickerson is very good already. He has an average pass block win rate, despite giving up a ton of pressures in weeks 2 & 3.

None of this stops me from trying to acquire one.

It may make it tougher, I still try.
