Yeah, put me in the group who are ready to pounce if Wilson becomes available. Recency bias. He's playing behind a trash OL with 4 working fingers. Wilson's best years were 2018-2020, not just his first few years. I'm not sure what I'd be willing to give up because this team needs some young talent, but let's not forget who Russell Wilson is all of a sudden. Players like him don't become available very often.

He'll be 34, had a  great 10 year run but his style is so unique to what Seattle does that he's hard to project going forward. But a lot of his game is built around scrambles out of the pocket and throwing deep - how long that is sustainable as he ages is a good question. He takes more punishment doing that than Hurts does running - he gets sacked 40+ times a year. In the pocket, he's still 5'10.

I just have bad memories of McNabb after 2005, he could still throw it long, but forced to become a pocket QB, he was a shadow of the player he was before the injury.

I'd trade for him. But not give up all 3 1st picks this year. Ideal scenario is one 2022 1st, 2023 1st, Hurts and whatever else makes up the combo.

Comedy.  You post like you are the be all and end all of football, when in fact it is mostly nonsense that the majority of the blog calls you out on.

Anytime you are proven wrong, you either ignore the response, or go with the lame " I don't respond to gotcha posts " BS.

The only thing worse than Howie Roseman as a GM is you as a poster.

I’m waiting for his book the New Testament of football: the decline of the passing in a passing era.

Again......what QB?  The point is....if we are going to use all 3 of our firsts on draft picks.....then we won't have the equity to be able to trade for a QB worth a ish.....So we would be stuck with a stop gap guy just as bad or worse than Hurts.....You're the one who said 3 firsts AND add a QB.....not me.  No need to get snippy.....I'm just trying to get an idea of what your plan is, so I can oppose it.

Its actually possible for a team to make trades after the draft. So if you can imagine a scenario where the draft is already over, not just for us but for all teams in the NFL. Then the only currency for teams to deal in will be future picks. Try to wrap your head around that concept. Build the team. THEN make the QB move, IF THERE IS ONE TO BE MADE.

I Really like Wilson but his age and that finger injury worry me

I mean hand injuries to qbs are a big deal.

Those are fair questions. I have some of the same reservations. The good significantly outweighs the few questions I have though.

Wilson interests me, if the price is right. I'd rather not give up more than one of our 1sts this year + 2023 picks. Not sure that gets it done.

Among the re-tread QBs, my preference order is Mariota, Jones and then Trubisky. If we can't land Wilson, I'd rather sign one of those guys to a short term deal. Worst case you have a better caretaker QB; best case, one of them lives up to their potential finally.

I would give Minshew a shot over any of these guys.

His finger will be fine. He came back at least a couple weeks too early. Their offense is trash and the OL sucks.

He is getting up there, but QBs are playing until 40+ nowadays. He'll start to lose some of his mobility after a few more years, but he's still quick and has a great feel in the pocket.

I'd keep Minshew as well and trade Jalen, but the upside is greater with those 3 for sure.

Honestly, Mariota wasn't that bad as a starter, and Jones has been playing against a HS offensive line. Trubisky had Matt Nagy as a coach...

Yep. Get him out of NY, put him behind a respectable O-line, give him a play caller not named Pat Shurmur or Jason Garrett and on a team with a middle of the road GM and I think he would be a lot better.

meh

His O line has always sucked, not sure what he would do behind a competent o line like Philly's.

His offensive weapons are pretty good though, I mean Tate acts like metcalfe is a demi God, would be hypocritical to state he sucks when it fits a narrative, Tyler lockett is good, Chris Carson is good just doesn't have any blockers.

I di t think Wilson would be coming into a much better situation weapon wise other than he'd finally have an o line but he's never needed one so...🤷‍♂️

I would see no reason to go for Mariota, Jones or Trubisky over any QB that's not on the roster already.  Why waste resources on a player that's not going to help the team in the long run.  The team should keep Hurts through next season and then hopefully be in a position to get a QB.  I agree trading for Wilson would be OK as long as it's not a trade of multiple first round picks.

I'm fully on board the Wilson train.

Howie is going to blow those picks anyways: See Reagor.

Go all in, get your QB, and come what may.

Problem with keeping Hurts is you're still limiting the offense

Since Wilson is the hot topic right now, here's this again:

Keep in mind

Trubisky = 27

Mariota = 28

Jones = 24, basically a rookie, younger than Wentz played his first game

Wilson on this team is like Wilson on the Seahawks now.  It wouldn't make the team a contender.

You are also limiting the offense with Mariota, Jones or Trubisky.  I mean Trubisky is like Hurts with less accuracy and worse running ability.
