San Fran has a lot more offensive firepower over Atlanta. I can See the 49'rs putting up 30 againts us.  I do like our Oline against 49rs Dline, so we might be able to hang for a while

He's the type that you take a chance on at the end of a draft.   Good clay for a quality coach to coach up, and at a priority position.  Even if he only developed into a good swing OT, that's invaluable to a top team.   It was a risk, no doubt, but the potential pay off was worth it, and using a 7th round pick on him just eliminated the bidding war for him as a UDFA... and gave the team 4 years of control.  UDFAs only have 3 years.

I don't think it's quite the same comparison. The 49ers, when healthy, have been a dominant team in this league for at least a little bit. I think you can make more derivative evaluations from their performance in Week 1 because they have so fewer variables. The Eagles, in contrast, are still very much an unknown quantity.

It's a great job by the coaching staff.  And executed perfectly by the QB who was on the money all day.

Unlike the guy last year who couldn't hit the ocean from a boat.  That guy couldn't have executed this gameplan.

Yep, lost their starting RB after two carries, and Trey Sermon was a healthy scratch.  Elijah Mitchell comes in and proceeds to run for 104 yards on 19 carries.  49ers run game is a heck of a lot better than old Mike Davis and a WR pretending to be a RB.

They also put up 41 points without their #2 receiver having a target.

He took a couple hits I would like to see him avoid, but overall much better.

Fair.  And I am hesitant to draw conclusions after one week.  But, Detroit and Atlanta are both suspect teams and we overwhelmed our opponent just as the Niners theirs. 

I think that SF will be able to exploit our weaknesses where Atlanta couldn't.  I am hopeful, but not as confident as I was going into the Atlanta game.

I think the best part is the entire team took centre stage at certain points. The offense responding to Atlanta's opening drive, the defense coming on like gangbusters in the 4th q, and hell even our punter was amazing, completely pinning Atlanta deep. Siposs was an All-Pro yesterday, and I don't mean that as an exaggeration.  Dropping punts that 'stuck' inside the 10.  Great hangtime to allow his coverage units to be in position to down the ball.  Good length on the punts as well.  Literally, he couldn't have been better than he was yesterday.

Most encouraging was the in game adjustments. The first two drives Atlanta looked like they were gonna drive the field on every possesion, killing us with the run game. 

2 Things helped change that: We got ahead, and Gannon made some nice adjustments.

Thing to note about the 49ers win.   Most predictions on here have the Detroit game as a win for the Eagles.   Now the 33 the Lions scored is a misconception.  They were down 24 and by the time they started scoring, the game was decided.  So the Eagles and the 49ers beat a couple of bad teams yesterday.   I would also point out that the 49ers offense put up 34 points.  The 49ers suffered a boatload of injuries last year as did the Eagles.  This game may be close, especially with the 49ers flying across the country.

I actually think the eagles have a decent shot to win on Sunday. Got to remember it’s the first home game with a full crowd since the 2019 playoff game. There’s going to be a lot of energy and juice in that stadium being in front of the fans. The niners are much tougher matchup cause their skill position players and oline are better than atlanta.Shanahan is a better coach. The niners are actually staying in West Virginia for the week not sure how they respond to that could go either way 

The Lions are absolute trash, and the Niners are very beatable

We can rattle Jimmy G or Lance, whatever average QB they throw out there

Shanny is gonna attack Wilson relentlessly.

I certainly don't think they (SF) should be feared. They are a good team with good players but I think they get overhyped a lot. Shanahan is a very good coach but again I think he's overhyped. But I agree I think we absolutely can get the W next weekend. At home with fans for the first time in 20 or so months... We definitely need to try and use that. 

The Niners dont have a WR as good as Ridley, not even close

Yup.  Finishing Game 13 is the magic spot. 13 out of 17 games = 76.5%.  (assuming equal snaps per game, which won't happen)

There are a lot of "football people" who think Gannon is the next great HC candidate in the NFL. If the defense starts to string performances like yesterday together then I think we can start to legitimize the system and stop delegitimizing the opponents. An unfortunate side effect will be that we probably will only have him for one year. Some team will offer him a HC next year assuming the Eagles defense is consistently performs at a high level this season.
