Contemplating his next move

Good thing he's not on the team. Hurts would get distracted and try to out swag him.

Stop gap QBs I would add.  Mitch Trubisky, Jimmy Garoppolo, Tyrod Taylor, Mason Rudolph, Derek Carr, Easton Stick, Drew Lock, Case Keenum.

Nothing exciting but I think any of those QB could be acquired and would be a good bridge QB until there is one available in the draft.

Derek Carr is the only one I'd actually be excited about.

Goff definitely was a liability in that trade though, not an asset.

I get that he wasn't the prize possession, but it shows the draft capital sunk into the trade on the Rams side. Point still stands, Seahawks are going to look at that and ask for more.

Will Hernandez is a priority FA for me.

Meh - He's not been that good.

Look at what the Rams gave up for Stafford, who is nowhere near as good as Wilson.

Traded away Jared Goff (Which the Rams give up their first-round pick (15), both of their second-round picks (43 and 45), their third-round pick (76), and 2017 first-round and third-round picks to trade up to get him in 2016.), their 3rd round pick, 2022 first, AND 2023 first rounder.

Wilson is going to cost more than that.

2 first round picks and a 3rd.  Wilson will be a year older and coming off of a bad season on a not terrible team.  He also missed time for an injury.  The picks were for 2022 and 2023 first rounders.  They added Goff in but Hurts is at least equal to Goff and less expensive.  I think a 1st in 2022, a 3rd round pick in 2022 and Hurts are equivalent.  I wouldn't pay more than that for him.

In the Eagles current position they're going to have to draft and develop their own franchise QB; the TB model only works if the roster is at the point of contending.  Most observers could see Winston was holding them back with the constant turnovers.

Trying to bring in a QB by trade or FA (especially where they don't really have the cap space to afford it) is simply trying to take a shortcut, and shortcuts seldom end up working.

None of them are listed to get us excited.  Just to be a bridge QB who will actually look at the whole field and we can call an professional offense with so the other positions they have invested serious draft capital in don't go to waste.

The issue is that getting a mediocre QB isn't going to make the team any better and potentially takes away assets to improve the team.

I know none were meant to be excited but I'd be happy with Carr.

Adding a mediocre QB is a stupid idea. Hurts is a mediocre QB. He might be extremely limited as a passer but what he does as a runner, and his threat to run opens things up for the RB's is a legit boon to the offense. Minshew is a borderline mediocre starting QB in this league. Someone like Trubisky or Keenum is not an upgrade. Jimmy G. and Carr are upgrades but unless the goal is to be a middle of the pack team it's completely pointless to bring someone like that in.

They either need to trade for Watson/Wilson, or draft and develop a QB. The narrative that this is a weak QB class doesn't hold water to me. As of draft night Lawrence was supposed to be the next Andrew Luck and people were laughing at the Patriots for drafting Mac Jones. Look at how all of that has worked out so far. The average person didn't know who Patrick Mahomes was until about two months before his draft. It's about finding the right guy for your team/system and developing them. Certainly there is going to be someone they love in this draft they would be willing to trade up for, or perhaps even just sit back with one of those three picks and take. They also have that early 2nd round pick that they could use on someone and have an open competition between them, Hurts, and Minshew.

Regardless, going out on the NFL QB scrap heap for junk or trading for a decent starter like Carr or Jimmy G is not the answer.

Some day Eagles fans are going to look back and realize just how important and underrated both Lane and Kelce are/were. Probably more so with Lane who has quietly been one of the best RT's in football for almost a decade.

Great…

Gonna put my neck on the line and say mike glennon has enough neck for the both of them.

Wait till you realize Howie will have to trade 3 first rounders PLUS more picks/players to get Wilson. Which he will.

I don't think even Howie is that stupid.

For the record, I want no part of Wilson unless he comes cheap, for whatever reason. If we use all three firsts for him I'm going to have to kill Howie Roseman myself.

I think I'd take a very long break from football if Howie used all three firsts for a trade for anyone

I don't want to move Dickerson from LG at all.  The way he works with Mailata is too good to break up.  Seumalo has been touted as a center of the future.  There are options in the draft.  Don't ruin such a massive, great left side.

I'm pretty sure Seumalo played center for a while. It wasn't pretty. I don't recall details and circumstances, just that he (Seumalo) didn't live up to his billing.

Well,  if that’s all it takes I’m in.

That unproven bum?!

I wish no ill will on Hurts but kinda hoping he misses next game just to see what Gardner Minshew can do. At least he’s a capable passer

With his contract hell no. We'd also lose out on adding some much needed talent to the defense

I think it would confuse the OL too much; they’ll still be blocking guys after the pass has been completed, the WR tackled, and everyone trying to huddle up for the next play.

But, can Minshew do this in the pocket?
