I will say I'm not sure why they would run that play to that side of the field given that it's a throw short of the sticks and it's to his bad side.

Like Sirianni said, Smith was 1a, Goedert was 1b on the play. Giants were taking away the right side of the field a lot with the highlighted safety. He's going to basically stand there the whole time

Hurts see's him pre-snap and correctly rules out Goedert who would be on his good side of the play

Watkins is the other guy on the right but not really an option because he's well short of the first and has no room for YAC.

If Watkins ran the mesh better it would have been a throw to the left but not a throw to the left sideline. The other safety is being held up by Reagor running a dig so he's out of the play. Hurts should be able to complete that especially if his feet are set. It's a good play call, bad execution.

the only thing I saw in that video is herbig being suckingbig.

First thing I noticed was Goedert hurting his foot, then Herbig and finally Dickerson after the 3rd time.

The folks who said they would stop being Eagles fans if Howie trades all 3 1st rounders need to start shopping for a new team.

I want the Eagles to trade for Russell Wilson for one reason, and only one reason.  Just to see how #1 Howie defender afan tries to spin it.

Just like I said I'd defend against Hurts.

The only way I want Wilson is if they do some sort of trade like the Colts did for Wentz.  a 2022 2nd and some sort of conditional 2023.

I never realized how punchable his face is and you know Howie just wants to say he finally got Wilson.  He's going to do it I have no doubt in my mind.

You're fooling yourself if you think it's going to cost us anything less than our 3 first rounders, or the fact that Howie would even hesitate to pay it.

Wilson is his Moby Dick, he will go get him by any means necessary.

To be fair I never said I'd stop being an Eagles fan, I just said I'd have to kill Howie Roseman.

With our luck we'll trade for Wilson and by 2023 he'll be playing for the Yankees.

With little time to make it payoff and not enough talent around him and no money left to sign anyone.

You and I see things differently. We would no doubt have 5-6 years with Wilson barring any unforseen injuries. We would essentially lose only our 1st rd picks this year. Still have every other pick we had in other rds and years.

We have a very good solid foundation along the oline.  A very good Young TE, and other serviceable TEs, Young Wr's. (I do believe Quez, Smith and even Reagor would be better with a WIlson at QB) Could use a veteran possesion type. We have proven we CAN have a dominant run game. I'd probably invest a mid rd pick in a RB.

The defense is a mix, Hargrave, Williams Sweat are the building blocks along the line, Slay will still be good, Maddox is actually playing his best, Nelson is servicable. So it has some talent that can hang on for a few years, and other talent you need to move, and a lack of talent and depth in some areas.

I'd be moving Brooks, Cox, Sanders for picks?   I'd be looking at upgrading the Defense through the rest of this draft, save for maybe a RB.  And see where we are at come free agency.

Gotta give up more than that, just to be honest. I’d be interested only because I can’t watch not being able to pass anymore. We’re instantly better with Wilson.

I think so too. I am going into the offseason fully expecting the Eagles to trade for a QB, whether it's a big trade up in the draft or a trade for Russell Wilson or some other veteran QB. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they don't but 100% expecting it to happen.

I'm not surprised Wilson would want to come here. After years of putrid O-Line play, he would get to play behind perhaps the best O-Line in the NFL.

Coupled with a franchise WR in Smithy, a pro-bowl caliber TE, and a dominant running game.

Heck this supporting cast has made Hurts look somewhat of an NFL starter during much of the season, I can only imagine what Wilson thinks he can do with it.

I'm in an Eagles Facebook group that has a ton of people saying it wasn't possible to throw to Smith. Even when showed the video they'll say there's safety help

I’d be surprised if Howard plays this week. Kind of think they just give him 2 weeks off and the bye the following week.

There’s a lot of dumb people on Facebook.

They would be wrong.

Out of curiosity, who said that?

I just watched it again; it's a problem with Hurts' mechanics -- again.

The throw is there to be made, right after Hurts steps up to avoid the RDE that Mailata pushes (he gets a bit of Hurts' jersey), and Hurts is looking right at him.  The throw is there if Hurts takes two steps forward, plants and throws.  Instead, Hurts shuffles 4-5 steps to his left (I assume because he knows the DE has just vacated that lane), double-hops again, then floats a pass in Reagor's direction instead of putting zip on it.

The anticipation was bad, the mechanics were bad, and the eventual throw to Reagor was floated.  It's arguable if Reagor can even get into the end zone if he catches the pass.

He can't throw it to Smith there... the Giant covering Reagor is looking back and could fall on Reagor and light up Smith or pick it off... BUT.... I Hurts had any football IQ, he'd recognize that the Giants were in man and he just has to wait for Reagor to clear out the area and it would be an easy drop in over the top... AND... a simple slide up in the pocket allows Hurts to keep his eyes downfield in a perfect pocket.   Hurts is currently 10 yards behind the LOS... and has a perfect pocket... if he'd just shuffle up a step.
