2000 Ravens... Trent Dilfer was the starting QB for the Super Bowl.

I stand by my analysis.

Get rid of the infield shift today

Why ??  You don't want teams to shift, don't hit into it.

It is not different than a 46 defense, dime, safeties at LBer.

This has nothing to do with anything, but I’m pretty pissed about Taryn Hatcher not being a thing while I lived in Jersey—I’d tear that thing up, boy.

Also, her boyfriend looks dumber than a box of rocks and probably has no idea how to hit that properly. Such a shame.

Carry on, gentlemen.

Kirk reminds me of slightly better version of Trent Dilfer.  He's not great, but if you put a team around him he could be a superbowl champion.

He also practically robbed Danny of a lot of $$$.  For this reason alone, I like him.

Kirk is this generations Matt Hasselbeck

Trent Dilfer never won anything.  He was a terrible QB with no accuracy but a strong arm.  I think you mean Brad Johnson.

You might want to check who was quarterback of the 2000 Ravens. Was he a defining part of that team? No, but he was the starting quarterback.

5-1 as a starter in the playoffs.

If one is to study the likelihood of finding a franchise QB in the draft -- specifically the first round -- here is the history of teams trying it in the past decade (2010 - 2019):

2010 -- LAR, Bradford (1), DEN, Tebow (25)

2011 -- CAR, Newton (1), TEN, Locker (8), JAX, Gabbert (10), MIN, Ponder (12)

2012 -- IND, Luck (1), WFT, Griffin (2), TEN, Tannehill (8), CLE, Weeden (22)

2013 -- BUF, Manuel (16)

2014 -- JAX, Bortles (3), CLE, Manziel (22), MIN, Bridgewater (32)

2015 -- TB, Winston (1), TEN, Mariota (2)

2016 -- LAR, Goff (1), PHI, Wentz (2), DEN, Lynch (26)

2017 -- CHI, Trubisky (2), KC, Mahomes (10), HOU, Watson (12)

2018 -- CLE, Mayfield (1), NYJ, Darnold (3), BUF, Allen (7), ARI, Rosen (10), BAL, Jackson (32)

2019 -- ARI, Murray (1), NYG, Jones (6), WFT, Haskins (15)

I've bolded the ones where IMO the franchise got what they were hoping for when they made the pick.  I've included Wentz because the Eagles did win a SB with him playing a big part in the season and being in position for the #1 seed in the playoffs.  Folks can add their opinions on which picks were good and which were bad in hindsight.

Unless my count is wrong, I come up with 8 out of 30 QB picks that turned out -- even in the first round.

The fact that Howie got one right shouldn't cloud his record on higher draft picks.

Tops in the NFL Comp% - Murray, Tua, and Jones. All 3 are around 70%.  All 3, Oklahoma and Alabama.
Jalens passing stats this year are pretty much equal to Baker’s with Baker playing one less game.   Both transferred to Oklahoma.
There are only 2 QB’s with a .500 record this season with Comp% under 64, Carson Wentz, 62%, Bakers is 62% and Hurts btw is 60%

They had a couple good songs.

Hurts is second in the league despite claims that "WR's aren't getting open" or "O-line is in disarray" and he's still below average.

I don't get why nickel back gets so much hate, half the D bags ripping on them probably never even heard any of their songs.

They're no where near my favorite but they're ok.

Actually went to a nickel back concert with a girl back in the day, Her Brother was working security and got us some sweet seats, Shinedown who were fairly new at the time opened for them, they're were a bunch of drunk ladies singing along to nickel back, not really my scene but it was fun.

Putting you both on ignore because you clearly don't know what's good.

This removes QB runs (which does matter), but this also means that Howie is doing a good job.

So is it the QB or the GM?

QB runs would just make him #1. Don't know what you mean by "is it the QB?" when the metric is "most helped" and valuating everyone around but the QB.

I'd give credit to Stoutland and Sirianni over Roseman for something like this.

I refuse to be taken to task over my mistake. So you are wrong.

I seem to be missing something in your leap to Howie is a good GM because Hurts has help.

What about "turnover worthy plays" and "sponge worthy" mimbos?

Howies biggest flaw is his inability to draft WRs and CBs.

Not saying he's great at all the other positions but the constant misses at those 2 positions are really what kills him.  Seems like he finally got one right with Devonta Smith but it's still early to tell.

Howie gets a small amount of credit for putting the players on the roster. But I'd say more of the credit for pass block win rate goes to Stoutland for developing and because it's his scheme. Same with Open Rate. They are only giving him one or two progressions on passing plays, it's not like he's scanning the field and hitting the open guy.

Just look at this past game, for example. We had guys open all day and Hurts missed them...and missed them...and missed them...until finally he thought "I'm completing something to someone, damn it" and started throwing it to the Giants instead.

Howies biggest Flaws is he doesnt hit in round 1 and 2.

If you look at the names he does pretty good in the later rounds.

I can agree with that.  I think sometimes he tries to get too cute with his early picks.   Just take the best guy available sometimes.
