After some dust has settled from yesterday...some 30,000' thoughts:

I have always drawn heat for my opinions on the Eagles QBs.  I always expect better.  I was one of Mcnabb's biggest, earliest critics.  Ditto Wentz in 2018-2019 before it become popular to hate him.  If you have a QB that doesn't miss open reads or throws, you are going to be an elite offense and team.  Any deviation from that makes you an underdog and less of a contender.

So Hurts...I'm probably going to be the biggest critic dogging him for as long as he's the Eagles starting QB, much like the starting QB's before him.  For all the parts of the team that were promising and exciting yesterday, I keep coming back to the QB position and wishing that we had someone who could stand tall in the pocket and take full advantage of these weapons.

Coaching and game plan on both sides of the ball was well thought out and crisp.  Both lines dominated.  WRs were open all day.  The new franchise LT looked like just that.  Lots of encouraging things going on, but I just yearn for a traditional QB to take advantage of a pass protecting OL and WRs that generate separation.  Rolling right on every play looked great yesterday, but that's not going to cut it over time against better defenses.

Don't disagree one bit that you need to market to different people and whatnot, that's not the issue. Being grossly overweight is not healthy.  It should not be celebrated and paraded around like it's a good thing.  It can kill you.  There's a reason that somewhere around 80% of hospitalized Covid cases have obesity as a comorbidity....90% of deaths.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-obesity/obesity-a-driving-factor-in-covid-19-deaths-global-report-finds-idUSKBN2AW1X0

It isn't healthy for anyone.

The other underlying issue is that this younger generation is using it's immense power to change societal norms.  They've made the term phobic almost as irrelevant as racist with how it's used now.  If as a man, you aren't attracted to a fat woman, you're now guilty of being fatphobic.  Thinking that the United States should have controlled borders does not make you a xenophobe, it just means you want immigrants to follow correct protocol to citizenship.  Shoot, there were 9/11 memorial services shut down for fear of appearing too xenophobic.  It goes on and on and on.

Also, notice no one is celebrating fat men.  Fat men are gross.  Fat women are beautiful according to this whole movement.

The Politically Correct SJW Modern Feminist world we live in, says this is healthy...... and that humans born with biological Male reproductive organs  can have periods and get pregnant.

And these are the very same people who tell you to trust the science, yet deny science at every turn over feelings.

This world is sooo F'd  UP

I’m happy with the Davonta Smith pick but the guy I wanted was Slater the OLineman from Northwestern. Apparently he was tremendous for the Chargers yesterday at LT.

Hmm Pretty sure our LT was Pretty decent himself yesterday.

I think it's got to be a whole cultural push, I mean look at Japan.

Not alot of obese people there because of the countries whole culture of exercise and balanced life and minimalism ect...

Where as USA is all about excess and everything being big and extravagant, as a result so are the people.

But, the flip side of that is this:

Always thought to myself that if the Gov't really cared about the health of it's people, especially nowadays, it would issue proper diet and exercise mandates.

F you. I don't need the government to "mandate" that kind of stuff.

I may need to rewatch it but I thought he was mainly rolling out when blitzes weren't picked up.

Like I said before, I'm all for a movement to make people not feel ashamed of their body.  But the body habitus of both those women is unquestionably unhealthy and unnatural.  Celebrating that is no better than celebrating smoking or riding a motorcycle unhelmetted.

If Hurts is for real, and let's face it, he'll have worse games than this just by the law of averages, we can spend our first four 4 picks on defense in the draft to address what are clearly the biggest weaknesses on the team (LB, S, CB).

If you plan to focus on those positions, better do CB first.  Not much success to be had in the later rounds.

Here are the 2015 - 2019 draft results by position, using a pro bowl appearance as the success factor.

Looks like you can find quality linebackers later in the draft.

I didn't word it in the best of ways but, I do not say anything or feel the need to I lost 1 friend because of obesity and about to lose 2 more. I care for them deeply and I encourage them to eat a little better.

My point is those same people have no trouble making comments about my life style choices while they continue to eat like they do and I just sit there and keep my mouth shut while they eat themselves to death.

I actually like bigger girls but, it gets to the point of being thicc and just being a walking heart attack.

If they are your friend then by all means talk to them about healthy choices. If not butt out.

The Niners dont have a WR as good as Ridley, not even close

Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle is a pretty good trio though. Combined with their run game. I look forward to see how we do against a better team that's well coached.

Hasn't helped me eat healthy as an adult -- I eat too much pizza, ice cream, chocolate, etc., but at least I was in good shape growing up and my parents gave us healthy choices.  I'm carrying about 30-40 extra pounds now, which is completely my fault.  I also know how to fix it -- it's just a question of wanting to.

Good on you for being so honest bud. You know what you need to do and so you can either do something about it or you don't. And if you don't you know who's fault that is and you know what you need to do if you want to change that.

No need to be vulgar. To each their own.

I eat healthy and exercise because I enjoy it. A lot of people would benefit from making better food and drink choices.

Wonder what group of people really is the 'biggest' strain on our hospitals and health care systems?

BTW being "skinny" doesn't necessarily mean that you are healthier than someone that might weigh more than you.

Throwing deep, when we're getting 1st downs throwing short, is inefficient. It goes against what the analytics says as well as what the opposing team was doing.

If teams want to play 8 in the box to stop our run game, then we'll take more vertical shots.

This is a strange 1 day after the game thread.

No they don't.  Ridley is a complete WR.  But the Niners have weapons that pose different problems.  I don't have the time to watch them and to know their offense and tendencies, but they strike me as the kind of team that gets the ball to those ultra-shifty WRs in horizontal space, gets some blockers upfield, and then try to burn you with YAC and misdirection, much like our first few scripted plays to Watkins yesterday.

I expect we'll see a lot of that next week.

Nope.  He escaped on a couple plays where the blitz was picked up and the pocket was OK.  I think he just got anxious, which could end up being frustrating because if the blitz is picked up, then you have a greater opportunity to exploit the secondary.

How soon till you want to mandate no old people?

I don't disagree, which is why we'll see what kind of a complete QB he can be in the coming weeks.

Yup.  As a man who spent the last 15 years significantly overweight... I can tell you that my body was not healthy.  I was on cholesterol medication, GERD medication, had major back issues and was pushing towards hypertension.  I've lost 30 pounds and my cholesterol is coming back down to where it should be naturally, my GERD is a minor annoyance if I eat the wrong foods, rather than a constant companion, my back is still a problem but I feel it less acutely/frequently and my blood pressure is in the 'normal' range again.

Healthy is not a subjective term.  Happy is a subjective term.   For the last 15 years, I told myself I was happy at my weight, because I could eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and didn't bother to worry about it.  Now, I am happy, because I feel better physically.  I could still stand to lose a few more pounds (maybe even another 20), but I've hit a healthier plateau.  The weight isn't coming off as easily as it was, but I figure if I keep doing what got me to this point, it will come off eventually.

I don't want to speak for Iggles but if you look at the numbers...numbers I shared, 80% of all Covid hospitalizations have obesity as a comorbidity with 90% of deaths worldwide having obesity as a comorbidity.

Have we heard once, maintain a healthy diet?  Lose weight? Not once.
