OK. You can join the people rooting for a playoff spot just to have their assses kicked, lower draft pick, and a coach and GM who get one or two more years at least because their ineptitude is masked.

Alright, first We won 4 games last year and Lurie didn’t get rid of his boy. You’re confident he’d get rid of him if we don’t make the playoffs? I’m not and I think he’s the biggest reason for our prior ineptitude.

Secondly, you can have reasons for disliking Sirianni … and he may or may not end up being a good hire but he has to be given a chance. He’s made adjustments with a roster that has serious flaws. His job is to win.

Picking 12th, 13th instead of 15th-16th (with a 1st Rd playoff exit) what’s the difference? Howie is the guy making the decision on draft day.

Just out of curiosity, I looked up our rushing stats. In all drives that started prior to the fourth quarter, we had 31 carries for 110 yards, good for 3.5 yards per carry.

For our fourth quarter drives we went 10 for 75.

This is what I’m talking about. 185 yards looks awesome. We weren’t very good running the ball for much of the game.

Look at the play-by-play.  Hardly any stuffs or negative plays.  The bad runs were usually for two yards.  We weren't plowing through them, but the run game was a positive component to the overall scheme.

He gonna get savage clapped by Washington but still I give him some respect.

A few things…

* This started with me saying the run the game wasn’t as good as its final totals look. That’s obviously true when broken down by quarters 1-3 and 4.

* I said the OL didn’t block that well without the threat of Hurts and that I thought Sanders and Gainwell got more than what was blocked for, which has been the opposite for much of this resurgence.

* I thought the run game held us back and we ran too much. Minshew’s efficiency masked how ineffective we really were.

* Some said the run game didn’t take much of a hit without Hurts. Until the fourth quarter that was false.

7 possessions.  7 scores.  No WTF throws.  The run game was still effective.

I know it's the Jets, but at least you can see what kind of offense Sirianni can put together with more traditional QB play.

Which was still in a "Jalen Hurts offense”.

Did they change the play designs for Minshew or was he working with what Hurts usually gets? If they changed it then it's concerning that he also sticks to the short and right. If they didn't then it looks like he does a better job than Hurts

I was actually expecting a lot more incompletes because he hasn't had a lot of times with the starters. I was impressed with only 5 incompletes

With just a week and the QB’s splitting reps they couldn’t have changed much.

Gonna clarify this and I mean in the passing game. The run game had a lot of change with Minshew, obviously.

In case it hasn't been covered...

If we win out, we make the playoffs even if the Vikings and Niners win out.  Why?  Because they both will have beaten the Rams, who also have to play the Ravens and Cardinals.

Also, the scenario where Dallas is locked into the #4 seed just got more likely this week.

No. It's about building evidence for him to go. Him making the playoffs automatically gives him a pass next year probably as well. It kicks the changes that need to be made further down the road.

Did I miss the celebration when Wentz finished game 13?

3.5 multiplied by 3 = a first down.

Exactly. Yea it isn't a flashy number but that average will move the chains

He didn't finish the game.  Pulled but because of the blowout win, no other reason.

You can thank Minshew playing well for that. He helped cover up for that inefficient run game that you thought was effective for three quarters.

ok

It looked different.  Not explosive, but still effective.  It was more like a slap than a hit.

MInshew was exactly what I thought he was, a bigger version of the Detmer brothers (for you old timers), weaker arm than Hurts, but accurate for the most part and sees the field well. He basically dinked and dunked in a balanced scheme, but you could see the defense focused on stopping the run between the tackles. And you could see that the pass blocking is still a work in progress, Minshew had to move around a lot and get rid of the ball quickly.

But if you watched Wilson and Lawrence today, you also saw that a big arm doesn't compensate for a lack of football IQ or sloppy mechanics leading to bad throws.

The reason they'll stick with Hurts is he has more upside than Minshew, he might improve his passing, Minshew is not going to grow a stronger arm or faster legs.

check it out quarter by quarter if you can. Im telling you it wasnt always low till that long one Sanders broke in the 4th. Through a **** of the game he was over 5. It only plummeted in the 3rd quarter why NY really shut it down.

He didn't.  He was pulled on the last drive.   Very close...

Shouldn’t a team with the lead be running the ball in the 4th? Especially when they had been wearing out the opposing D with those 2 long drives. The jets had the ball less than a minute in the 3rd.

Well, I hate to say it but Howie will be the guy making the selections whether we make the playoffs or not.?

Most Eagles can win is 10. Niners win out they are at 11. Rams can lose twice and still get to 11. Vikings win out and they are tied with us at 10

What I found fascinating and refreshing was Minshew's willingness to throw to the RBs.

Hurts would have likely had successful scrambles on several of those.

But still, makes more sense for the RB to run with the ball than the QB.

That's fair.   I had assumed the Rams would lose to the Cardinals or Ravens.

Vikings have the Steelers and the Niners have the Bengals.  And I'll admit, WFT will be a challenge...twice.

But at least there is a reasonable path.

And he made the decision and got the ball out quickly on short RB and TE passes.

  Imagine being so desperate to be right, you cite Hurts arm "strength” over another QB.  You’re delusional.

By the same ilk, Hurts is not going to grow a stronger arm or better mechanics.

Should I hit ‘em with the fact Minshew threw with harder velocity at the combine. The same measurement everyone uses to bring up Hurts arm is comparable to Watson. The same measurement every pro Squirts guys point at to say his arm is strong?
