Let's not get carried away with Minshew's performance, if Hurts had played and put up similar numbers, let's face it, all we'd read about was how it was against the Jets.

He had a good game, he also showed why he was available for a 6th rd pick.

No one's carried away.

We're just capable of seeing that Minshew is a better passer than Hurts by a country mile.

I was laughing at Saleh as well. What a butt clown that guy is

He deserved a flag on a couple of occasions.

FYP

Apparently the new Hurtscuse is that the Eagles are intentionally setting Hurts up to fail, as evidenced by the number of carries Sanders got yesterday.

Mental. Gymnastics.

They only had two healthy backs... Scott was an emergency only use guy.  It was Sanders and Gainwell, and that was it.   Would have been better to have Howard available... he's a guy who can be a workhorse.  Sanders always manages to get dinged when he touches the ball more than 20 times.

You don't have to tell me, I get it.

It's just funny to me.

I do not believe hurts would have put up similar numbers. Way more rushing yards and fewer passing yards would be my guess.

same success but derived differently

neither is the "answer” but it was nice to see a contrasting style from Hurts. But you’ve got to keep rolling with Hurts so there is no doubt who/what he is and what his ceiling looks to be.

This is life for most teams unless they have The Franchise.

Don’t people understand Hurts actually takes carries away from Sanders?

The elephant in the room that I'm sure has crossed a lot of our minds given today's society and agenda like you said.

May be the elephant in your room.  I suspect, like me, race was never considered.  Reading a defense, throwing on time, arm strength all have been, however.

So does Chip go back to the Ducks?

I'll bet their fans would love that.

Certainly some, but he also creates alot of runs with his inability to read defenses and stay patient in the pocket.

Maniaaaaaa!!!!

No, no they do not.

I read this too quickly and thought you said "buff clown” at first. I was like, "weird slam, but OK.”

Please back this up with examples.

I think that has become an urban legend around here.

Not saying it never happens.  But, IMO, its not a trait anymore.

Just rewatch the Saints game. There were many examples. The 49ers game this year was woof bad.

Miles is great once he choose the right path though.

Evidently, no.

A couple players I like on the Jets are free agents that could fit here. WR Crowder, veteran, reliable hands still has it, sign me up. DL Foley Fatukasi. Nice player, not a pro bowler by any stretch but would make for a quality rotational player.

I don’t believe for a second Hurts will keep the starting QB job just based on the color of his skin.  Over the last 7 games he’s been a 55% passer, and if that doesn’t change soon he will be replaced — unless the team somehow keeps winning without a viable passing attack

I don't think anyone would think he keeps his job because of it.  I'm referring more towards the overwhelming support that he gets and how he's the QB no matter how good Minshew looks.  I think that's where it comes in to play.  It seems like folks in the media and a lot of the casual fans will bend over backwards to defend Hurts and make Hurts look good.

I think it‘s just the other way around.

The whole ‚just a RB‘ and ‚ not smart enough for the position‘ sounds very suspicious to me.

"just based on the color of his skin." Not JUST on the color of his skin but I'll bet that will factor into the decision, a decision reached at the highest levels of Eagles management. Hurts is, by all reports, quite popular in the locker room and it would be very ............... awkward ........... to replace him unless it's beyond obvious that he just isn't getting it done and isn't likely to in the near future.

Aside from typical inaccuracies and not seeing receivers, there’s plays like the pass to Quez when Rico was rolling left - no way Hurts makes that throw. He’d see Quez but just tuck it. This is also the case with RB check downs. Hurts would make a positive play in these situations, but people are uninvolved - maybe a decreased chance of something bad happening, but those random big passing plays also disappear.
