So false.

I dislike him because QB's should be better at throwing the ball than running it.  Running is Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, Jordan Howard and Kenny Gainwell's  job.  Jalen Hurts job is to pass the ball.

QBs should move the ball and score points. I don't care how they do it, as long as they do it. A QB who is both a good passer and a good runner will be better, but with most QBs, there are tradeoffs, few immobile QBs are good enough passers to compensate, few running QBs are adequate enough passers to take advantage of their mobility.

As far as durability, I see little evidence that running QBs get hurt more than pocket QBs, look at Wentz, Bradford, Warner, et al. Depends on the style of play, body type and genetics.

And continue to ignore the defense?   It isn't nonsense to continually watch this team with so many holes on defense and think what a difference 3 first round picks could do to the unit.

They could easily add a starter at DE, S and LB if they pick the right guys.  They could add a S and DE in FA and STILL use the first 3 picks on defense and I would be happy.  They've ignored or drafted poorly on that side of the ball for far too long.  I don't want to give up the chance to rebuild the core of the defense for a 2-3 year rental of a veteran QB who is going to hamper the cap even more than it currently is.

There are no great defenses in the NFL. With a safety and a pass rusher, this defense would be fine. Not great, but fine. Good enough to contend with for sure.

If the Eagles use all 3 picks on defense, they essentially become the Broncos. The Broncos have a really nice roster, but they will continue to be average because their QB isn't good enough. Don't want the Eagles to become that. It's much easier to piece together a defense than it is to find an elite QB.

Prime spot for Linderbaum.

I paid close attention to him in the Big 10 championship game and came away very impressed. Stronger than I thought, smart, great balance. He'd be a great successor to Kelce. If Kelce retires, he'd start on Day One.

Zach Wilson is an example of a QB on the wrong team.  He needs a vibrant offensive mind to be around to just absorb concepts.  SF, LAR, even the Eagles would be better fits.

Yeah, agreed, man he looked great at times.  There were a few throws that were absolutely fantastic.  Nobody on our roster can throw the ball like Zach Wilson.

The rules are so tilted against even the best of pass defenses, a team is crazy not to create an offensive identity that takes advantage of the pass.  That is why I want my QB to be able to do it.

Ok. Everyone has been kicked out of the old group and password is changed so no one can accidentally join that.

New pickem group, against the spread. Go join so 4for4 can feel special since it was his idea.

Look at SB history. Running QBs that are average and below in passing don't win SBs. It looks amazing but it's fool's gold.

Besides that there will always be games where you have to pass. There aren't going to be many games where you "have" to run. Yes, there are benefits of a strong run game and balance to the offense, but the only time you enter or in a game where you "have to run the ball" it's because you have a bad passing QB.

Some of the throws Minshew made are nothing special and Hurts can make the same throws, including both TD passes.

Question with Jalen is can he see the play happening and make the throw.

I doubt he would even pull the trigger on the 1st TD throw to Goedert.  2nd one was easier to make but if he was looking elsewhere not sure he'd come back to Goedert.

You have it backwards, the racial element is exposed by those who think Hurts' race has anything to do with him starting over Minshew.

Minshew has no upside, he's a solid backup caretaker QB who could win on the right team (running game, top ten defense), but he's not going to beat good defenses without a lot of help.

Hurts has more upside (the probability of him reaching it ???) because if he was just a solid caretaker type passing QB, his running would make him special. The way Minshew would be starting if he could run (and had the body) of Hurts.

You're happy with his upside being Tyrod Taylor?  Maybe Baker Mayfield, but that's a giant stretch.

Hats off to this German Shepard who's doing what many of us have wanted to do for some time having to watch the Flyers

I don't agree with this. An effective run game changes everything. It skews a defense, it controls the clock, it makes play action far more effective.

What I want from our offense is, when we do throw, I want to do it better.

It's so hard to tell, because he has to give the play a chance to work, but he doesn't.  Instead of spinning around and vacating the pocket instantly, stick to the pocket, deliver the ball in rhythm, and be accurate.  Be a QB.

Because Westbrook and Shady both pointed out that the offense looked more like an NFL offense with Minshew.  It's unreal to read the comments and the hate going towards BWest.

Its weird. Theyll now side with sucky Hurts over eagles legends. Doesnt make any sense.

Not possible.  I think Minshew brings the whole team's upside higher...players and coaches.   He doesn't have to be a star to raise the level of those around him and that is a big thing.

That's what I said. "There are benefits of a strong run game and balance to the offense". By me saying "have to run the ball" I am referring to specific in game situations. The only in game situation you "have" to run the ball is killing the clock with the lead, which you don't need a dominant run game to do. But there will be specific in game situations where you "have" to pass the ball like being down 10 or more points.

Passing will always be more important than running in today's NFL.

its definitely set to private.

maybe its only needed if you go searching on ESPN for the group. Maybe since you used our link that I shared you didnt need it. I should delete that link so everyone needs the password!

I just deleted my post with the first link in it now so no one else can join that by accident since changing the password wasnt an effective way from keeping people from getting in.
