I was skeptical until the Big 10 Championship, where he convinced me. That said, he does NOT have Kelce's wheels.

How many centers ever have?  Dermonti Dawson is just about the only center I can remember being used to pull as much as Kelce has... and I don't think he was as fast as Kelce.

I feel bad for Kelce's replacement. He'll be replacing a HOFamer...with no hope of every living up to him on or off the field.

Peters can't compare to the off the field of Kelce though.

True enough, but I am still amazed how we got Mailata, right after Peters.   Thats like having Rodgers replace Favre.

None that I can think of. All I want to say here is that he can be a great player for us but he will be different from Kelce. It's clear to me that Herbig can never be a good center. Besides being a launching pad for bad snaps, he is too ponderous to block our OZs. Those heavy thighs make shotgun snaps an eternal issue. Since it's doubtful we can get Linderbaum, I would expect our next center to be either Seumalo or Driscoll. I do NOT want Dickerson at center. While he would be miles better than Herbig, he's found his perfect spot at LG. I'm flashing on Art Shell and Gene Upshaw here, for the old heads.

Maybe but let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet

Those are some mighty big names you just threw out there. You’ve made my day as I know full well you wouldn’t just chuck those in there willy nilly.

Nice to see you coming around on him.    Herbig was brutal at OG yesterday as well.  He just can't get out on screens either.

I'm familiar with Shell and Upshaw (Otto was no slouch in the middle... nor was Bob Brown outside at the other tackle spot.  Greatest OL ever? ) from NFL Films, but not watching live.

He moved pretty good though.

I didn‘t say that. Almost certain that some of them are though.

Willie Roaf, yes .... but I don't know who this nilly is you're talking about.

Yup.  Please Nick and Jeff, do not touch that left side of the line.  They need some Aussie boy + country boy nickname.

I was high on Herbig coming in to the season but surprisingly, he was better when he was a fat(er) ass.

Herbig and Reagor are by far the 2 biggest disappointments IMO this year.  Driscoll's health is up there too but he was playing at a high level before he got hurt. JJAW doesn't even count anymore, just another wasted 2nd round pick.

Does anyone even remember that we have a 1st round pick just sitting on the bench in Andre Dillard?  Here's hoping they can find a taker for him. My best case scenario for him is they can find a team with their own first round flop, preferably on defense, and they swap in hopes a fresh start helps.

Dillard isn't exactly a flop... so I'm hoping they can get more than that for him.

The problem with dillard is he’s entering the last year of his contract. He has the 5th year option but as soon as it’s exercised it’s guaranteed (based off the rule change i read about). I don’t think any team is willing to exercise it at the time of the trade when he’s never started and finished a full season. Add on (and not really a huge detriment if you view him as a starting caliber LT)he has to play LT cause he has never learned to play right. they likely could get a 3rd if someone really wants him however i believe if that were offered at the deadline the eagles probably would’ve taken it. I tend to believe teams would be willing to give up a 4th and don’t think the eagles would be willing to give him up for that.

Dillard isn't a flop, though.  He missed a full season due to injury and lost his position to a player who's been extended at $16M per year.

Howie will surely trade him in the offseason to an OT-needy team, probably for a 3rd.  Would love to get a 2nd round pick but I think Howie will just want to give him a fresh start.  To follow your rationale of a trade you'd be looking at someone like Johnathan Abram, who runs hot and cold with Raiders brass.

Greatest ever? Definitely in the conversation. I'd also include the Hogs when they had Jim Lachey, Russ Grimm, and Joe Jacoby. Also, sorry to say, that Dallas OL with Larry Allen and Erik Williams. Williams was the only OL I ever saw who could block Reggie 1-on-1.

If Dillard were able to learn something besides LT, keeping him wouldn't be the worst idea. I recall reading that Stoutland was working with him on playing R.T. Wouldn't it be handy if he could back up L.J. and eventually move into that slot? It isn't like the Eagles O line has been iron men except for Kelce.

Ok.  Have at it.  Name names.  Who are you referring to?   And please cite evidence.  This is not something that you can just throw around without merit.  Back it up, or leave the board.

If you want me to start pointing it out going forward I will.  But the not so subtle jabs at him talking about "swag" and other things regarding Hurts which is purely racial.  It's nots hard to piece together when you consider the old white male demographic of this board and how many will take any chance to make any sort of personal attack on Hurts that they can for how he looks or carries himself.  Or trying to attack Jalen as someone who lacks intelligence.
