I mean I blame this on Howie.

Likewise, I was just responding to the guy who implied any OL has Stoutlands approval and must be good.

Interesting will have to listen later today. Did you read the interview with EJ in the inquirer? It was pretty in-depth  it really didn’t touch on the second point. More focused on QB

I clicked on the link, but it was behind a paywall.

Is a soon to be 29 year old Le'Raven Clark who's played in all of 14 games in his career really worth locking in to a 2022 contract?  No idea what the guarantees are but he seems like he would be at the bottom of my priority list.   I'm sure it's a league minimum type of contract but when you don't have cap room and continue to add on to the dead cap just seems a tad be like a waste.  Even if the fear was another team claimed him off the PS, it would be for 5 games. Much rather keep as much cap space open as possible and use that on a younger player who has potential.

Agree that they must manage the cap space to build a roster.  Clark is a vet and has played a few OL positions and is familiar with Siri.  His best value is as RT back-up.  Dillard can't play there and the young OL players either hurt or unproven.  Clark is an insurance at low costs, though not sure he is needed beyond this season.

Andre Dillard to the Chicago Bears

3 OF 5

Matt Slocum/Associated Press

Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Andre Dillard is again about to find himself mired constant in trade speculation this offseason.

Dillard, a first-round pick by the Eagles in 2019, hasn't earned a starting role. Around the trade deadline, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted that "...teams believe a quality second-day pick would be enough to pry Dillard away."

While the deadline has come and gone, Dillard still hasn't gotten many opportunities to play. Jordan Mailata, a former seventh-rounder, has locked down the long-term job at left tackle next to rookie guard Landon Dickerson and veteran Lane Jonnson continues to start at right tackle. Dillard has played just 33 percent of the offensive snaps over 13 games.

A team like the Chicago Bears, which invested in Justin Fields, needs to leave no stone unturned to fix the line in front of their rookie quarterback. The Bears used a second-round pick on Teven Jenkins, but Jason Peters is 39 years old. At worst, Dillard could be an excellent swing backup on a cheap rookie contract for at least one more season.

To that end, the Bears could make a deal worth it for the Eagles by offering up a second-round pick for a former first-rounder who is still only 26 years old.

How has Peters done this year? I assume not very well, but I really haven't watched more than 10 plays I think from the Bears.

Haven’t watched the bears enough to know. Watched a game where he left after like the 3rd play. Pff has peters at a 76.5 grade so take it for what it’s worth.

I mean yes and also NC has something called a deer dog line.  Dog hunting of deer is allowed in most of the eastern part of the state.  It's a bit controversial because essentially people have dogs chasing deer across private property and the hunters driving around in trucks getting to clearings where the deer get flushed out by the dogs.

I can't imagine they would offer a 2nd round pick in the 2022 draft. I mean it's their top pick.

Yo big game for your boys tonight

Some of these Dickerson blocks are incredible. He just demolishes guys in the run game.

NFL teams have film on Dillard and can make their own determination whether he's a starting-caliber LT -- I would say yes, but I'm paid $0 by any NFL club.

Just taking a cursory look at the top 50 rated 2022 NFL draft prospects I only see 5 OT on the list, of those I'd guess 3 would be LT.  If that were to hold true that means only 2-3 teams will be likely to draft a quality LT in the first couple of rounds in the upcoming draft.

My guess is Dillard will get traded before the draft; he's great depth, but teams don't keep a 1st round pick on the bench.  I'm guessing the Eagles get a 3rd round pick for him, but I wouldn't be shocked if they got a 2nd.

The Tarboro people told me about it. AS well as told me that when they run animals with their dogs that people try and get ahead of them to get the animals before they can. After spending some time hunting in the "swamp" I can see why that might be appealing to them though

As a matter of fact, I was there a few moths ago.  I had to go to the Nash county office as well which is in Rocky Mount....for work.    I have been all over this state, much like PA.  Anything else?

Cool and I'm sure you associated with the local rednecks while you were there? More "rednecky" than anyone I've ever met in Pa. But you do you bro

Siri compared him to Quenton Nelson, and he fits the profile.

With a full off-season and year plus removed from knee surgery, he can be as good as Nelson.

Put yourself in the Bears shoes though. They can use their 1st pick in the draft on a LT with NFL experience who they feel can protect last years 1st round pick.  Not saying they would but it would be easier to sell that way.  I'd love it for the Eagles.

Personally, I enjoy both methods. Crushing 20 cans of cheap light beer is fun. Relaxing while enjoying a well prepared old fashion is fun, too.

Jason Avant thinks Minshew is the guy going forward and would be surprised if they went back to Hurts.

I don't know if he's just trying to be a hot take guy or if this is just another dumb thing he's saying for some reason.

Well, considering the HC came out and said that Hurts was the starter... this sure is a bold proclamation.    Then again, I remember another HC that said that his assistants are safe, and they were fired the next day, so it wouldn't be unprecedented for something like this to happen.

It's possible they spin it as Hurts having a "setback" in his recovery I suppose. But I'd say everything points to them going with Hurts the rest of the year, as long as he's actually healthy enough.

He must be hoping some random chick will tweet at him saying she has his jersey to donate.

Didn’t Westbrook basically say the same thing?
