At some point one would think they might give the guard blocking hargrave some help, either a RB stepping in it having Matty ice roll away but falcons never did.

I've heard how great a play caller Arthur smith is he didn't show it yesterday, derrick Henry can make play calling a bit easier, without Henry in the backfield I didn't see anything from Arthur smith that would convince me he's some master play caller.

If he is than what's that make Gannon who shut him down?

Obviously, you don’t keep up on the Blog.  We have been schooled since Sirianni was hired that he was a consolation choice because we missed on the likes of Smith and others.

Did they ever say what the extent of Epps' injury was?

He knocked himself TF out.  Stiff armed and all.

I think they do but it's also subject to what is commercially available.  - they also limit what people can get using food stamps.

Yes but all those prepared foods with added sugars and salt qualify.  There are so many people in this country that don’t have fresh fruits and vegetables available year round. Grocers don’t tend to open stores in walking distance in poorer neighborhoods. Even in rural communities.  Go in a Dollar Store sometime and check out the food they have available.

BMI is joke if you lift weights or are athletic.  It's only for sedentary normies, which I admit is most people.

Get a smart scale and measure your body fat %.  As a male if you're ~ 15% BF or below you're in good shape, regardless of what your BMI is.

The number of people with low body fat % and obese BMI due to muscle mass is basically irrelevant at the population level.  There's a reason the BMI still exists in medicine.

Yeah because its a lazy heuristic.  A "one-size fits all" metric that unfortunately doesn't fit all.

You can keep pushing BMI while I will keep pointing out its numerous flaws.

I'm not pushing BMI.  Of course it's flawed.  It doesn't fit all in the context of people who build muscle mass.  In everyone else, there is enormous data about BMI as it pertains to outcomes in the setting of various diseases and procedures.  That data has not been compiled and utilized in the same fashion for body fat %.

So I'm watching some highlights of the Rams game.  They look really good and all, but anyone else think Stafford is going from underrated in Detroit to immediately overrated in LA? Better than Goff sure and the guy had a great game and capitalized big-time on some huge blown coverages. But that was a good team with a good team win. I just don't buy the narrative that he was some uber elite QB all these years but we never saw it cause the Lions sucked.

Very good QB and a very good team with a very good coach. But man Collinsworth and Michaels we're acting like he's prime Peyton Manning.

Where's that mcginnley guy who used to post shirtless selfies?  He could probably solve the BMI argument.

Fair enough.  For me its absurd as I'm 6'2" 210 lbs which is overweight according to BMI, yet I'm ~ 15% BF.

But yeah, for analyzing the population as a whole its a useful metric until we start compiling BF% data, which shouldn't be hard considering how ubiquitous smart scales are now.

Legend has it, if you turn off all your lights, put on an undersized tank top and chant "tempeh" three times he'll just appear.

Anyone in central PA know what FM station is carrying the games?  Was 96.1 in the past.  I checked online and it said 97.3 for this year but it was music.

I’m still seeing 96.1, but I didn’t have the radio on yesterday.

It looks like 97.3 is the South Jersey station.

I sincerely hope Lurie is not in the locker room after every game, bogarting the freaking game ball.... yikes

I hope so as well, but I guess because its the first win of the new coach... the coach can't give himself a game ball, so the owner does it.

Meanwhile, watching Lurie there is just always so cringe worthy.  I always thought it best to keep the game ball speech short.  "Great job, Coach Sirianni... great job to the staff.  On behalf of the whole Eagles' organization... we award you with the game ball for your first victory as an NFL coach.  We hope it's the first of many."    Mic drop and get out of there.

Online streams will not play NFL games, as they don't want you to stream out of market, which is dumb.

There is an app called Pro Radio, it will give you 8-10 stream options, usually at least 1 will work.

I've seen many of the locker room speeches after wins, and Lurie doesn't typically speak unless it's some mile stone moment.

Fortunately.

but the local radio stations always play the games, don't stream online.  Just weird I couldn't find it yesterday.

The food industry is a big part of the problem.

Either way, Meyer for such a 'hard ass' is one of the weakest individuals in the coaching circle.  The man has tucked tail and ran every time he's seen adversity or hasn't had success.

My "loyalty" to BMI comes from the following...

I agree it's a flawed observation that does not get the whole picture.  But that's what has been observed, for better or worse, in medical studies.

Think of it as having mountains of observational data that people with yellow teeth are more likely to get lung cancer and that we had medical studies comparing shades of yellow teeth to degrees of lung cancer risk.  (Making this up).  Of course, the teeth have nothing to do with the problem and the excess of smoking does...but the observational studies are what they are and in order to predict certain things, we need to figure out how yellow the teeth are.

So while BMI is flawed, if an overweight person wants to know their risk of certain bad things, then measuring the BMI is the best way to do it.

Yikes
