No, the problem is when we think Rushing QB we think Lamar and Hurts, one read and run.

Josh's game is supported by running. As mentioned he's 3rd in QB' attempts and 3rd in rushing.

Just because he also is a good thrower doesn't mean he cant also run, often.

Again, 12 attempts yesterday, he was the only Buffalo Bill to have an attempt the entire first half, essentially the only running game they had yesterday was HURT RUNNING THE BALL.

No one is saying he isn't mobile or can't run, but there is a stark difference between a running QB and QB who can also run.

My Monday Morning top 5.

I watched more Russ Wilson than I should have yesterday and Again, unsure if hits finger or what but he just dosnt look crisp.

After seeing the giants play these last 2 weeks it makes our loss look even worse and Hurts's performance terrible. winning out doesnt guarantee a playoff spot.

Lamar got hurt, Josh Allen got hurt, Tysom Hill banged up again, hmmmm running QB's getting hurt may be something we should pay attention to.

I know the Raiders are sliding, but the chiefs looked good.

Saturday football starts next week... best time of year

Zzzzzzzzz

Somebody can correct me here, but I'm pretty sure if we do win out, we get a playoff spot?

Also, the Raiders in both games against the Chiefs this year refused to use the two shell defense every other team has used against the Chiefs. Teams were forcing Mahomes to slowly go down the field, and their offense was making enough mistakes to keep games close. The Raiders for some reason refuse to do this, and have been blown out twice by them.

so a guy who runs often, gets hits more, likely to get injured more. The bills depend on his legs as a part of their offense.

I don't know why you're changing the argument. No one is saying he doesn't run. I'm saying that there is a difference between a running QB and a QB who can also run.

I'm not disputing that he runs. I am saying I wouldn't classify him as "running QB".

Hurts is a running QB. He's a QB that can't throw worth a damn and his only real value is running.

This nuance gets lost on some:

Allen -- 87 rushes to 494 passes = 17.6% run/throw ratio

Hurts -- 122 rushes to 351 passes = 34.8%

Jackson -- 133 runs to 382 passes = 34.8%

Only one of these guys is a passer who uses his legs; the other two are runners playing the QB position.  Jackson hasn't had any post-season success and isn't likely to have any this season.  How deep a playoff run do the Eagles brass think Hurts is capable of?

For reference -- Russell Wilson is a career 18% and Deshaun Watson is 17.6%

Justin Hebert = Jalen Hurts since they both can throw the ball over that mountain.

Can somebody please tell me where the hell is our starting all pro right guard Brandon Brooks?  Be nice to have him for the stretch run. We know he is healthy.

He's got 3500 yards passing in 13 games you dope!  He's a passing QB who runs.  He is NOT a running QB!  You're too dumb to know the difference.  Comparing him to Taysom Hill and Lamar Jackson is dumb and lazy....even for your standards.  And I see my counterparts in the Blog agree with me.

Philadelphia or the surrounding areas is my guess.

You can set your watch to it.  Just a matter of time.

Lol almost everything in his post is wrong. Looks like Wilson had a typical Wilson game. He's wrong about us winning out and not being in the playoffs. Lamar did get hurt and left the game. But as far as I can see, both Hill and Allen played all the snaps? And Raiders/Chiefs was explained as well.

Definitely draft a power RB.  Howard has been good, but his injuries have piled up.  Keep him for next season and we need 2 power backs to compliment Sanders and Gainwell.

Agree.  We could find a younger version of Howard with one of our 5th Round picks.  I'd be surprised if we extended Sanders and at a raise in salary.  RBs are pretty much plug and play and nowadays you can draft solid replacements in the 4th/5th rounds and use cap space in other areas.

Given that he is a likely post-June 1st cut, he might be opting out of the bowl games and preparing for the offseason.

People think Hurts could make that throw lol

That was a lower trajectory throw that beat the coverage where only the WR has a chance to catch it.  Honestly, Hurts would have to put so much arch/loft to throw it that far (nearly 65 yards) that the 2 DBs would be able to call fair catch for the INT.  He'd have to throw that ball much sooner for it to be a TD.

This is exactly correct.  Brooks saves $13.5M against the 2022 cap as a post-June 1 cut.  The Eagles tried to trade Brooks last off-season; him missing another season due to injury isn't going to create a trade market.

He's more gone than Jeffery and Jackson were at this point last year.

There’s a very specific scenario where we can win out, the Vikings win out and the 49ers win out while the Rams win out except games against Vikings and 49ers. That makes Rams and 49ers 11-6, and the Vikings 10-7 and we would be out.

Running QBs make me nervous as hell.  How many running QBs have actually won championships?  All of the best ones seem to get close but have a hard time staying healthy or run into teams that do a great job of shutting down the run.

Still can't believe we got a franchise LT in the 7th round.  What an absolute steal.  He's so fun to watch, too.

Not really even close.  Cunningham never got close.  Vick never got close.  Lamar Jackson hasn't gotten close.  Defenses will shut down the running lanes at playoff time.

Russell Wilson and Steve Young are the closest resemblances of "running QBs" who have won championships -- and they're passers first.

I don't think any QB that can't/couldn't function as a pocket QB will ever / has ever sniffed a superbowl. Russel Wilson can run but mostly extends plays to pass. Same with McNabb. Steve Young could run but ran the WC offense nearly as well as Montana. John Elway was not quite as mobile as Steve Young but was known more for his Howitzer of an arm. Fran Tarkenton come close a couple times.

I would not classify either of the above as "running QB's". Mike Vick with the Falcons is probably the closest.

I think both of these guys made it to their conference championship games, but yeah, good teams can shut down the run and make these guys one dimensional.
