Bruce is in the HOF but I don’t think Clay Jr. is.

Yup, you're right.

I'm sorry but that sounds like a very elitist view. There are lots of people with fixed income and can't afford it or a health coach. It's easy to just think everyone is dumb and/or lazy.

I’ve worked with plenty of lower middle class people. You don’t think people on fixed incomes blow money at bars or casinos? Or have "add to cart” addictions? Or stop at Dunkin’ Donuts every day for a cold brew and 3 doughnuts?

You misread what I’m trying to say. Doctors are often uneducated when it comes to fitness and nutrition.

Produce in the grocery store is not expensive. Neither are chicken breasts.

You don't need a coach to jog around the block and not stuff your face with junkfood all day.

I actually think the chargers are better than them. The new coach will help and Herbert is only gonna get better. 60 million over 6. I think they got to pay him all of it if they fire him.

Well it will cost them more if they continue to let him coach people will stop showing up if they know they are getting the same crap for.the next 6yrs. Obviously being in Vegas helps bring people in that aren't even raiders fans but still

Mark Davis is kind of a cheap ass with things like that from all reports. I’d be surprised if he fired him with 6 years left. I think mayock is more likely to get canned and he gives gruden another year or two.

They will try and draft a QB and use that as an excuse to keep Gruden around for a few more years.

A cautionary tale

That route by Renfrow on the PI was awesome. Smith would crush that route.

I’m actually surprised they haven’t moved on from carr yet. He just never was the same player after that injury. He’s solid but you aren’t winning anything meaningful with him. Especially not with Herbert and mahomes in that division.

The route I’m talking about.

I work for the food industry.  Indulgence and lack of self control is part of the problem.  Not a free market.

Well -it’s a big industry. I think it’s mostly the availability and unhealthy nature of a lot of processed food and fast food. I agree that habits drive consumption. It’s not like people don’t have accountability for their actions.

Being an obese male for a good portion of my life, this has always been a difficult subject for me to talk about. And while I’m supportive of anyone trying to change their lives for the better, this has been bothering the f*** out of me lately.

I’ve lost close to 70 pounds since I started my weight-loss journey back in March, yet I still struggle with self-acceptance/confidence partly because this whole movement likes to neglect men for some reason.

Sure, there might be a few people who "acknowledge” us, but where are our magazine covers and clothing commercials?

It’s not right.

I’d also like to point out that other factors contribute to obesity. I, for one, struggle with depression and anxiety disorders. I also grew up in a home that liked to reward with food at an early age.

A lot of people assume we’re all just fat, lazy slobs, but that’s not the case. A lot of us struggle with something deeper. A lot of us know our lifestyle choices aren’t healthy and want to change. But sadly, some don’t.

Some of us also kill ourselves because of the torment other people inflict upon us.

We’re not here to be ridiculed and judged. Most of us just need one person to be supportive rather than judgmental.

Kindness works miracles, I tell you.

Lastly, and I can’t speak for all of us, but I have never expected nor wanted anyone to "celebrate my fatness.” All I have ever wanted is to be treated with respect.

A brave post and i thank you.

I have a friend, a physical fitness trainer, who works with the morbidly obese a great deal. He has a lot of stories, most of them tragic. The 500-lb man whose only friend is the pizza delivery guy, who's the only human being he ever sees; that's a typical one. There are others but I won't elaborate.

More than anything, he says, they are paralyzed by self-loathing and depression.

I would add that women face a more complex world than men here. Body shaming starts in adolescence. A 110-lb teen can be body shamed. You can never be too thin. Of course the other side of the coin is anorexia, another form of self-loathing, and it's far more prevalent among women than men.

Too fat, too thin, and too miserable.

I wasn’t even going to start with that guy.  Boxed meals and eating crap cost more and is less healthy than scratch cooking.  I know food and costs.   Some people like to blame others for their decisions.

It’s irritating. "Oh no I’m on a fixed income so I have to order from fast food dollar menus every day”. Ridiculous

Lol ok. First of all. I was only saying it was a part of the issue. And you both can look up if you want that on average it costs more to eat healthy. Plenty of research was done and available.

Hell even without a QB the Broncos are more talented and better I think it's a shame Jeudy went down for them .

I’m betting the Broncos go all in on rodgers next offseason.

Geez, that PSU DE on the Ravens is quick off the ball.

I said that sounded like it yes, but just that take. I apologize if that sounded like I was saying you are elitist. I don't know you and wouldn't make that judgement

Yeah.  I’m fat because I’m poor, because it costs too much to eat better and live healthy.  Sure. Makes sense.

Yup that's exactly what I said and was insinuating 🙄

And these studies aren’t subjective in any way?

I’m not saying being overweight/obese makes you less of a person, but I am saying that the price of food has very VERY little to do with the obesity epidemic. So little it’s not worth mentioning.

It’s culture, lack of education, stress, and complacency which all result in forming bad habits.
