Not really even close.  Cunningham never got close.  Vick never got close.  Lamar Jackson hasn't gotten close.  Defenses will shut down the running lanes at playoff time.

Russell Wilson and Steve Young are the closest resemblances of "running QBs" who have won championships -- and they're passers first.

Wilson also had a historic defense that was even given a nickname that helped a ton too

Yea but that future first man…could make it all better:

Let me first off say I like Devonta Smith and I think he’s going to be good. I don’t know if he ever becomes Adams type no. 1 wr but really there aren’t many who do. However if you’re looking at that trade to move up to get him then you have to look at the entire picture of what they potentially gave up and what happened prior to get Smith. they were not a wide receiver away from being a contender. We were in a rebuild so we needed as many picks as possible. Which our general manager screwed up 2 drafts in a row at wide receiver so they were forced to give up a third round pick which the Eagles badly could use on defense right now

Hypothetically if Eagles would have stayed at 12 then the Cowboys most likely Parsons at 10. They weren’t moving back with the bears and losing out on parsons. They loved him. From all reports the Giants wanted Smith at 11. That’s why the eagles leaped them. So you’re sitting there with the Bears calling you trying to get Justin fields giving you a future 2022 first round pick. So potentially have a 2022 first (top 10 and potentially top 5), keep your third rounder and picking at 20 instead of 12.

Cause it was only his offensive coordinator who couldn’t figure out the zero blitz? Maybe it was also the guy playing QB as teams have done that more and more and he’s been struggling for over a month now. Just point out in Lamar’s last 3 starts (where he’s completed the game) they are averaging 15 points. in games where Huntley has played significant snaps or started 19 points. Lamar has also thrown 6 picks in his last 3 starts where he’s finished the game (yesterday played a quarter). Could be the QB is also not playing well

His td pass to guyton was ridiculous. He got lit up right as he was throwing it and it was a bomb

He wasnt really even running in to the throw either for extra momentum. He came to a stop and set his feet quick. That was a regular throw, that was a bomb.

What a stupid thing to say. There is not a team in the NFL that you can’t make a list for like this.

And with Wentz we would not win anything. He still sucks.

I hope all of you guys who are hoping the Eagles win enough games to make the playoffs.....or are rationalizing who we need to win in order to help us get in with 7-9 wins, only to lose in the 1st round, remember this.  When we are drafting in the teens and miss out on Kyle Hamilton.....remember I'm the one who told you.....He's THE GUY in this draft.  We don't have a shot at Hutchinson....but Hamilton will be a great player.  Not good.  Great!  If we went 5-12 or 6-11 we would have a shot at him without trading up...(which we won't)  But the meaningless wins down the stretch are going to burn us.  Again.  Much like the Cee Dee Lamb deal.

Yep I've stated since the start of college football this year if we somehow land Hamilton, I'm buying his jersey immediately. He's gonna be great

This is what i talked about in 2019 where the end of the season streak was fools gold where they just beat bad teams to inflate what the team actually was and needing a rebuild then. It wound up long run hurting them more than helping them especially when you consider that playoff game gave them the idea we needed to draft a backup QB in the second round. Then a year later dealt for minshew for a 6th to be a backup.

I want a QB that screams "I own you!" to the Cowboys fans and means it.

Have to find a QB that can consistently beat them first.  Rodgers is probably that guy too as I don't think he's lost to Dallas much.

Well the only guy we really need is Parsons.  He's obviously the greatest football player that ever played....🤔

So if wentz sucks and is 6th in QBR and 97 QB rating. Hurts is currently 21st in qbr and 84 Qb rating. So if wentz sucks does that mean hurts sucks more? went might not be great but he is an above average competent NFL quarterback. Regardless of how do you feel about how he left he doesn’t suck. He’s just not 2017 mvp wentz.

Not true. If you change the draft then you’re changing draft orders of future drafts as well. Who knows what the roster would look like if we drafted DK.

Wentz throwing all the time and carrying a team is not ideal.  He isn't elite like that.

Wentz supported with a strong run game he can win many games.  It was the case in 2017 and its the case this year with the Colts.

I’d also point out Carolina Panthers fans routinely said cam Newton was built differently in his heyday. So they thought he could sustain those hits and he be fine. Heck one of my best friends who is a panthers fan told me that routinely and i give him crap for it all the time now. He got hit enough that it Fed up his shoulder and he’s never been the same. No Qb in the NFL is built to be destroyed by 300 pound lineman and 250 pound linebackers that run a 4.6-4.7 speed. They aren’t. Enough hits you’re going to get hurt and eventually it takes its toll on you.

I would argue if you gave wentz a running attack like we have this year, the oline we have and we drafted Jefferson, goedert, smith (or Dk) that this offense is likely a top 10 offense in the league that can throw or run the ball on teams. Heck I wouldnt be so sure they would’ve traded Zach Ertz for what they got from the Cardinals if they had him here.

If Wentz was still here and they ran the ball as efficiently as they have, we be at 9 or 10 wins.

USC QB Kedon Slovis has put his name in the transfer portal

I'm 100% guilty of posting about Parsons during the game but when 99% of the games you watch are Eagles games and absolutely no one on defense stands out and then you watch a Cowboys game and you see Parsons jump off the screen, it's easy to see why the hype is there for the guy.  There was a stretch of 3-4 drives where he made huge impact plays.  The Eagles haven't had a defender like him since Brian Dawkins and I'd say a LB/rush defender is more impactful than a safety.  Please, no one take that as me saying Parsons is better than Dawkins.

Yes, Parsons has a lot to prove still but goodness does it suck to know that not only the Eagles have no one near his talent level but he's also playing for the Cowboys.  It just sucks.

Really like this QB , bright future imo

Texas A&M QB Zach Calzada is in the transfer portal

Knowing what we Know now... What Wentz did in 2019 was elite IMO.

Roster was that team was atrocious and he went 27TD/7IN and drug them to the playoffs on his shoulders.

He didnt have a 1000 yard rusher, didnt have a 1000 yard receiver and had a middle of the pack defense who were towards the bottom of takeaways

I give Wentz full credit for that.

He carried them for 4 games against bad teams. But you need a bigger sample size than 4 games to be called elite.
